sometimes love is not enough - Miriam - Jul 30, 2023 [dohtml] A certain sadness marred the girl’s features as she moved about the shoreline of the lake. Memories danced around her mind and in many ways projected themselves along the shoreline for it’s familiarity to a lake near her home that she had often frequented. The small, framed girl tried to blink it off as the feeling of pain welled near her eyes, her paws almost dragging through the mud that had accompanied an earlier rainstorm, the fresh scent of pollen knocked about by the winds and the rain hitting her features all at once. It hadn’t been fair, but there wasn’t much she could do about it. Choices had been made, and with that, she had ended up alone, on her own, wandering north for who knows how long in an attempt to find something that might make her whole once more: a mission, a family, something to take away the hollow ache in her chest… something she might be able to throw herself into. Perhaps a life or lives that she could improve with her presence, her spirit… fixing wolves had always been the way that she felt a part of something… but she wasn’t sure if that would cut it this time. A small butterfly would come forward, fluttering about her as her dull orange eyes lingered on it, watching as it landed on her nose. She fought against the urge to let it twitch for fear that it might scare the creature away… a companion was something she had longed for, a conversation… anything other than the silence of her thoughts and the cruelty of the world to surround her. |
