Aquene was watching her daughter grow up so fast before her eyes. Though it was her third litter, it never ceased to amaze her how fast the children grew into half-adults, and later full adults… in these moments, she thought to her eldest, hoping she was okay… knowing that she was a grandmother and that her daughter had disappeared on her own daughter… it hurt to think about, but she liked to think that she was fighting like hell to get back to her.
It was what had her seeking out her youngest. As she grew, she tried to introduce more skills to her… and this time, she happened to know of a warren of rabbits that had settled within the territory that the young girl could practice on, even if she was perhaps too young to be successful in her hunt.
“Eclypse, darling… do you want to go on an adventure?” She would pose when she caught sight of the tiny black-furred girl. “I want to show you something.”

Eclypse had been half asleep when her mother came to her.
At first, she had expected the newcomer to wake her up with a meal. Instead it was her mother. Which was better but it did leave Eclypse with a low hunger in her belly.
"Mmm, yeah!" She nodded her head softly as she stood back up again. Softly shook out her coat to free it of the dusty debris of the ground. "What's it?" Her head tilted to the side as she began to stretch and move. A few steps closer to sniff and prod at her mother's legs, as if she might find out the secret from smell alone.
Instead she only sneezed sharply, at least the sneezes were less these days.

Eclypse looked tired, but at the mention an adventure she was standing back up and inquiring just what it was. A smile formed on her features. She saw her sniffing about which caused the woman to chuckle. “I was going to teach you how to track, and how to pounce.” She explained as she used her nose to nudge her daughter’s rump along towards the warren she had found earlier.
“Before you can hunt, you have to know how to track prey and how to properly pounce in order to catch it.” Speed was another thing entirely, but it came with comfort in chasing and pouncing that speed could be accumulated. “There’s a warren of rabbits nearby that we can chase and pounce to our heart’s content.” And Aquene would catch something so that way Eclypse could have a treat at the end.

Huh.
Today really was the day, wasn't it? This was the second time someone had come to discuss hunting with her and although she had slept off the first offer, she surely wouldn't sleep off the second.
So she carried the pep in her step reserved mainly for her parents as they went along. Baby ears now comically large on her head, swiveling as she listened to the world and her mother's instruction.
"What if I pounce liiiiike...." She lunged forward a few steps, large paws slapped the earth. Hardly coordinated enough for a hunt but she felt pretty of it. "This!"
She then, of course, ran around in a circle to come back to the side of her mother. A wide grin on her features for her feat of hunting prowess.

She watched, an amused twinkle in her eye as her daughter began to lunge forward, running in a circle to come back to her mother and she offered a light chuckle, running her nose along the girl’s neck in comfort. “That was good, darling.” She would coo her gentle praises to her.
She closed her eyes for a moment as she breathed in, catching a whiff once more of the rabbit warren. “But you have to be super fast.” She would coo for a moment, aiming to show her daughter as she rushed forward with speed before pouncing on a leaf upon the ground.
It was a good practice… a good show of what her daughter might hope to achieve one day… for now, though, it was a matter of finding fun.
She grinned as he looked back at her. “Keep your rump low like this.” She lowered to the ground, like a puma ready to strike, her rump pressed as flat as possible rather than sky high in the air like many pups liked to do.
