Stand as One - Nash - Feb 17, 2024 [dohtml] Nash walked along the borders, pausing every so often to stretch the stiffness from his leg. He'd been up for a while now and it didn't ache as much as it had in the morning, but the awareness of the injury was still there and his hip still didn't want to bear his weight quite right. He was starting to grow more concerned about it. Would it disappear once the weather warmed up, or would it plague him for the rest of his life? He'd thought he'd escaped any long-lasting damage from that fight, unlike his poor brother, but it appeared time had proven him wrong. He smelled it toward the end of his circuit, not too far from where their boundary met the shoreline. He picked up his pace to a limping trot, ears pricked and hoping he was right - and he was. A relatively fresh carcass of a deer. It was no longer warm, but other scavengers had yet to do much damage. He tilted his head back and called for the pack, his message clear: family meal. RE: Stand as One - Armand - Mar 01, 2024 Armand had been getting a drink from the lake when he heard the call, simplistic in its message and still it stumped him. He blinked down at the ice, smattered with glimpses of gold and peach from his fur. Family. Was that... him? The political landscape had shifted since his mother had first brought them here, catalyzed by Aleister's death and solidified with Oksana's disappearance. The name Macieo did not mean what it previously had, was barely even still present amongst the bloodlines. Geraus certainly had never been a part of the mix. Part of him liked that. It wasn't all bad, not being crowded as he always had been as a child, not having all those eyes that assumed they knew, all those shadows to get trapped under. Moments like this, though, reminded him of how much had changed, of the things that had been lost when his family scattered to the wind. He would remain where he was, alone and soaking in memories.

RE: Stand as One - Aquene - Mar 01, 2024 [dohtml] When she heard the call, she had been caved over her stores, assessing the damage that winter had inevitable caused for the herbs that dealt with illness. She had been thankful there were seldom injuries, but she also knew that coughs and colds could be just as deadly, especially on the mountain where only the most stubborn of plants grew and usually did not help with matters of health… And so the promise of a meal was enough to allure her and draw her immediate attention, her stomach growling as she prowled towards where her husband had called for them all, a relatively fresh carcass catching her eyes the moment she arrived. She would move, greeting her husband by brushing her cheek against his before she would move over to take a bite, savoring it despite how aged it was. In winter, she’d never stick her nose at anything. Aquene Slayer |
