You're a loser, baby

He had been a fool.

The marbled youth had come back to the lore on a whim, following a scent that piqued his interest enough to draw him away from the only ones that felt like some semblance of a family to him and for what? There was nothing to show for his efforts except more mileage beneath his paws, more unanswered questions and an ache that became rather prevalent in his chest. Everywhere he went his nose was filled with the scent of what he didn't want to chase, disappointment clinging to his limbs like lead weights that slowed the progress of venturing further out day by day. The seclusion amongst the dormant orchard, which slowly began to awake he might add, now served as his rendezvous point. Little did Claw know, but he was beginning to feel the symptoms of someone akin to being homesick.

Broad shoulders lifted and fell with the heavy exhale of a sigh, the boy's head rested upon outstretched paws while moss green irises lifted their gaze toward the heavens above to watch darkening clouds push along. Their bellies were swollen with the prospect of something falling to the ground below any second now, be it snow or rain, but he gave little care toward whichever mother nature decided to dump on him this time as his large frame remained slumped against the trunk of a cherry tree. Maybe it was just another sign he never should have come here and should have turned back when he had the chance.
