As I prune my feathers like leaves from a vine - Apollo - Mar 30, 2024

A large yearling padded through the cove. He was walking with his head lowered as if he was tracking. His frame was coated with thick golden fur that lightened into flaxen hues on his undersides and around his neck. His face, eats, paws, and tail were dipped in a dark brown hue while a dark brown dorsal stripe ran down his back. Golden eyes gazed upon the world in wonder. His tail was decorated with feathers carefully woven in.

Apollo was looking for flowers to collect, even though it was still snowing. He had learned in the beginning what flowers were poisonous. His grandmother instructed all of her children on what plants were poisonous and her daughter dutifully passed it to her son considering his interest in plants. He loved having flowers and was often looking for them, even on his fool's errand it still kept him busy. He was still worried about his mother but he knew she wouldn't want him to wear himself ragged to look for her. She'd want him to be safe. He planned on staying in the territory for a week, maybe ask around a bit more.

RE: As I prune my feathers like leaves from a vine - Kokonoe - Apr 02, 2024

Boy was Kokonoe elated that she had thwarted off the desires brought on by the arrival of her heat. Only once had she dared venture beyond the borders which had ran its own risk of consequences from their leader, but if she had done that and broken his breeding decree?! Not that she would have minded shacking up with that hunky fellow.. As of now, though, the scent of two other females in the pack had made the change to signify the new life that would begin to develop in their wombs, one in which had the petite female gasping to herself the moment her sense of smell picked up the perfume.

The leaders own three-legged daughter had broken the rules and now was forced to bare the consequences of her actions, demoted to lowest.

But that scent wasn't what had drawn Kokonoe out today. The cologne of a young newcomer over the past two days had piqued the chocolate female's interest, choosing to make an effort to actually get to know those she called pack mates and what better way than with the newbie? Ivory limbs trotted along the trail he left behind in the snow yet to melt away, pale icy blue eyes eventually spotting a golden silhouette up ahead that must be the newcomer. A series of barks were released to catch his attention, pausing to see if she had been acknowledged or not.

Apollo hated winter with a passion. There were no flowers and he missed them. Feathers were pretty but nothing compared to the beauty of flowers. He figured he could look into new hobbies as it seemed winter was lasting a lot longer than he expected. He could collect more pretty things. He also needed to set up a den for himself soon and make it ready for spring. He would love to plant a garden soon once winter was gone.

Apollo was lost in his thoughts but his head perked up as he heard barking. He turned around to see a she-wolf. She looked very pretty and his tail wagged. "Hello!" he said with a smile. "I'm Apollo!"
