The Slayer twin was right on time - leaving the territory long before the sun was even up and their mother was awake. She didn’t want to be apart from Aven for even a second longer than necessary but if they pulled this off it was going to be all worth it. Plus, she wasn't the one who had been stuck out here in the cold and the rain all by herself. She hustled for the few hours it would take to reach the small cave they had discovered a few weeks prior, nose wrinkling at the smell when she got there. It was pretty disgusting but that was the point wasn’t it?

Neva dropped the small bundle of half eaten - mostly skeletal remains she had been sneaking since Aven was gone. They were mostly small things such as mice and rats, not very filling but it would have been enough to keep her twin alive while she had been trapped in the cave and they needed to make this believable. Without needing to announce her presence, her sister would know she was there without her having to say anything she launched right into the plan, ”Okay so what are we going to use to block the entrance to show you were stuck?” Surely Aven will have found something by now that would be realistic.

Neva had never really considered that other wolves did not have a perfect idea of what they looked like. She had always been able to just look at Aven and know what her appearance was down to the smallest detail. Even their expressions often mirrored one another, as was the case as she flashed her sister a large grin from the top of the entrance. It would still be at least a few hours before they were really reunited but it was still so good to see her.

Going to examine the boulders, she gave one a gentle shove as a test and grunted when it was harder to move than she thought. Still, a few vines tumbled to the ground and she managed to shift one of the rocks a few inches. She would need to get a few of them over there but she could do this.

Her sister’s call made her quickly reappear at the top of the cave to quip back, ”Obviously I am not going to squash you,” Her words were sassy, but green eyes were surveying the area closely - anxiety building in her belly. Still, she softened and requested, ”just back up as far as you can - just you know, just in case.” Then she disappeared back to the task at hand.

This was going to take longer than she thought, gritting her teeth Neva shoved as hard as she could until she got some momentum going on the largest stone.

Lightning flashed overhead as the rain really started to pick up - too bad it wouldn’t be until Neva was on her way home that it would really start to pour.

The more momentum she got with the boulder the easier it was for the Slayer girl to push. It started and stopped a few times as it landed on flatter surfaces of the stone, but eventually she got it blocking the majority of the hole. Taking a moment to catch her breath and examine her handy work - it was good, but she thought the hole was too big, Aven would have found a way to squirm out of that over the last few weeks. Nodding at her sister’s question, and then realizing that she couldn’t see her she vocalized, ”Oh yeah, everyone has been looking for you loads - especially mom. She’s probably never going to let us out of her sight again.” They could deal with that though, and if only she had any idea how true her statement was.

Peaking her head into the now shrunken hole she questioned, ”Still good?” If she got confirmation she would retreat backwards and start working on the second rock, this one was smaller and was a lot easier to get moving. Once she got it in place she would start on the third and eventually a fourth, all a variety of sizes, making herself a nice little pile if she did say so herself.
