i met a lot of cute firemen though - Aven - Oct 29, 2024
Forward-dated to: 10/30, for @Neva only.
Random Event: Aven, Your Treatbag Reveals: You had something big plans for tonight and now it's cold and raining, you'll have to figure something else out. This had gotten old. The wandering that first week, that had been tolerable. Staying stuck down in this hole, though? Desperately thirsty, surrounded by her own feces and urine, and worst of all, hopelessly missing her sister, Aven nearly regretted the plot. It was time, though. She had made it, and soon Neva would find her, and it would all be worth it. Contentedly despite her immediate situation, the young girl sighed and leaned her head against the cool, limestone wall. The space around her was cramped, oblong in shape and only a few yards in length. Instead of the stench and the way her skin felt like it was crawling, Aven focused instead on imagining how it would all go. How she'd be received, what her explanation would rightfully cause, and of course, how it'd feel to be clean and dry and at rest in a proper den, surrounded by her family of course. Then she heard the distinct sounds of paw steps, and her near-asleep body jolted back to life. It nearly didn't occur to her that it might not be her sister, right on time. She had to bite her tongue to not call out. Stripped little carcasses rained down, and then her own face appeared high above. Aven beamed back. "Neva!!" she cheered, wanting nothing more than to leap up out of the crevice and tackle her twin with affection. She'd certainly missed her more than anything else, even cleanliness. It was too high to do so easily, though, and as Neva made clear, this little mission of theirs wasn't completed. "Yeah, the rocks," she tried to point with her muzzle, but they were well out of sight from her own position. The ground rose up a yard or two from where Aven had stuck herself, boulders covered by dying leaves and roots that were loose enough to be dislodged and rolled. "Just... don't crush me..." Of course Aven trusted Neva literally with her life, but it was still unignorable that she was very vulnerable. Obviously. But yeah. Just in case. She obliged, pressing herself as far back she could muster. The stone wall dug rough against her, but it was better than ending up struck from above. Her green eyes peered up watchfully, waiting for something to obstruct her little skylight once more. It seemed to be taking a minute, and she frowned but remained quiet. She could plainly hear Neva working on it, and at least she was out of the wind. Honestly, it was hard to recall the last she'd really been dry... finally getting to go back home would make it all worthwhile. Speaking of... "So... everyone's really missing me, right?" Her tail tried to wag at the thought of being so loved, but it didn't have the worm, instead squirming where it was pinned between limestone and her hip. "Has Mom been real upset?"
