Wanderlust - Tiberius - Jul 29, 2010

DON'T BE AFRAID OF TOMORROW JUST TAKE MY HAND
ROMANCE YOUR EGO FOR A WHILE
I'LL MAKE YOU FEEL SO MUCH BETTER TONIGHT

It was early morning when Tiberius 'rose awake. He had spent the previous evening bathing bare beneath the pearl-laden rays of the moon; sleeping silently with the heaven-sent light beaming down on him, soft rays shimmering across the handsome contours of his face. It had been a truly relaxing evening, with nothing but the quiet chirping of fireflies singing in the distance around him, along with the gentle hissing of the leaves that swayed in the fresh summer breeze, echoing in his ears. His sleep had been peaceful, and, for the first time in years; even his dreams remained quiet and unspoken within the corners of his mind. He awoke with an unfamiliar calmness about him, the feeling of complete serenity; as if, for all the doubts in his life, none of it could touch a finger towards him that day. A soft sigh slipped through his onyx lips, dispelling like a cloud of silver smoke in the crisp morning breeze: it swept like keen icy figures through the smoky grey fur of his neck before crawling slowly down the taut ridge of his spine. His golden gaze slipped open, as he took another long drawn-out breath of air. Sunlight flickered across his sultry face, the warm rays of morning light falling across his peaceful figure that lay draped lazily beneath the frame of a grand forest tree. It remained forever green within the warm rays of summer, and Tiberius took solace in the pleasant aroma of fresh cedar trees.

His muscles tensed beneath his skin as he spread out to stretch his aching limbs after so many hours of being still; it made him feel somewhat restless knowing that he had been asleep for so long. It always made him curious to know what strange and exciting occurrences might have taken place whilst he was busy surrendering to his need for sleep. What sort of things could go unnoticed and unseen by his wandering gaze whilst he dreamt? Sunlight shimmered through the trees that towered around him, sparkling like golden jewels across his earthen coat. With a final sigh and subtle grunt, Tiberius 'rose to his feet with a gentle grace; his tail swaying casually behind him as he quickly steadied himself - paws pressing firmly into the moist graven soil. Already Tiberius felt the need to hurry pace, urged on by the amount of time he had spent asleep and lifeless; so much he shall no longer miss, for so much time had been lost already - even though in reality, it was but reaching 6AM. Slowly, he stepped forward from his place of rest to gaze at the world around him that stood hidden behind the labyrinth of trees. Off somewhere in the distance, he caught glimpses of a burning sunrise; bright and warm in it's morning magnificence. Though his face remained somewhat cold, inside he felt his heart melt.

A shiver of raw emotion swept through him, which only made him more aware of the light chill of the wind that the morning had breathed in. He could feel his skin crawl with waves of cold shivers as he stood there observing the world around him; his ears shifting upon his head as he listened to the sounds of wildlife around him. The ghostly shuffling of the leaves as they brushed across the floor aroused his senses. Following the movements of the leaves trailing in the breeze, Tiberius sauntered silently behind them. Down small paths he followed with child-like interest, between the trees he strolled on with an eternal wanderlust; gradually enticing the young gentleman through a sea of low-hanging cloud. It hung there like a silken-white veil, laced with strands of silver. Ribbons of gossamer cloud coiled and entwined around each-other like long ghostly fingers reaching to cling to the hands of their lover's. The atmosphere was seemingly sensual and mysterious to the young man that stood frozen and entranced within its eerie grasp. Cold golden gaze was cast down to the floor as he wandered aimlessly through the unfamiliar woodland. His foot fall was soft and quiet as he moved gracefully through the parting trees with his tail flicking curiously behind him.

OOC: Hope you don't mind that I throw my girl in here. =)

Gone Tomorrow

The sun was the giver of all life; that was a simple fact of life that every living thing grew up knowing. Without the sun, they were all fighting a futile existence. Which is why Corinna took particular enjoyment watching the first light rays appear on the horizon to the east. She found it much more enjoyable watching the sun rise than she did watching it set; it had something to do with the fact that rising always appealed to her much more than falling did. She connected rising with hope, while falling she associated with despair. And there were few creatures who would rather wallow in despair as opposed to rejoicing in a sensation of hope.

Granted, despair would be a common feeling about the forest of Relic Lore in these next few weeks. The fire that had taken away so much life would not fade in the inhabitants' memories any time soon. The best they could do was relocate, to find somewhere else to call home.

Cedarwood Forest was one such option, one that Cori had found appealing on her initial entrance into Relic Lore only a few days previous. Travel worn paw pads beat the earthy ground in a steady rhythm as she walked, tail swaying easily behind her. Overhead, the leafy canopy provided protection from the rising sun, dimming some of the magnificence of the sunrise. Turning her head, over her shoulder, the gray female watched as steadily more and more of the forest became illuminated. A coy smile playing about her lips, she chuckled softly. There were somethings, like a simple sunrise, that could never fail to make her happy.

Turning back, slim legs began their forward movement, carrying the she-wolf closer to her destination, which was the branch of the creek that fed Cedarwood. She was thirsty, and she needed some of the life giving liquid to quench her thirst. Settling into a steady pace, she moved through the forest quietly, her presence hardly disturbing the quiet atmosphere around her. However, there was some disturbance, something not quite right. She felt it as she walked, but she couldn't place it, so she kept moving, her eyes continuously glancing around her for the sight of anything out of the normal.

Wanderlust - Weldering - Jul 29, 2010

WELDERING DARKSIDY !!
you stare like you don't care but you do though

It was the first light of the rising sun that stirred the young black masked male from his restless slumber. All night he had tossed and turned and now with the warm rays of sunlight heating up his fur he time to rest for now was at an end. While the night was cool and the clear skies overhead allowed for easier navigation being unfamiliar with these lands made it all the more harder to find safer bolt holes for the day. That night he had taken refuge at the foot of a granite boulder just to the side of a small clearing within the Cedarwood Forest but remaining here unguarded throughout the day was only going to attract all sorts of attention with his guard so visibly down. Slowly waking as reality begun to dawn upon him like the new day the male's steel blue eyes cracked open welcoming the light as his pupils adjusted accordingly. There was little time to waste with delays but with that being said he was never a morning wolf perhaps taking longer then most to be bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to go.

The first plan of action for the morning was already mapped in his head. Finally lifting his haughty silver toned body up to his full height in which he still minced around by flailing out his two forelimbs into a stretch, his back now arching deeply. Finally prepared to leave his little patch of flattened green grass that had been turned into his nest overnight the young wolf took his first few steps with a light and tiresome wobble. The soft woodland earth reaching the bottom of his pads as he exited the grassy clearing and now on his way towards the small stream he had stumbled upon the night before. He did not have to double back very far at all and with such a fresh source of water it was exactly what he needed to help him shake off his sleepiness.

However the same eeriness the other two sense was shared with Weldering as well, the small worn trail that brought him weaving in and out of trees and brushing past the flourishing greenery of the forest floor was gradually leading him closer and closer towards the other two lone wolves. The scent of each of them now reaching him via the soft morning breeze as he allowed it to ruffled the wispy silver furs that ran down the sides of his neck and chest. Unlike some wolves the prospect of company was not something that Weldering shied away from. It actually had quite the opposite effect as his pace begun to quicken and now with a purpose other then to find the stream for a drink he readied himself becoming more alert. Black stained ears rising like radar domes on the top of his head while his sharp blue eyes scoured the horizon up ahead finally catching sight of the she-wolf first. With his quickened leisurely gait it did not take him long until he was approaching casually from her left side. "Morning." He greeted with a tip of his muzzle, muzzle inclining slightly and while his attention was on the stranger in front of him he knew someone else was also nearby.

DON'T BE AFRAID OF TOMORROW JUST TAKE MY HAND
ROMANCE YOUR EGO FOR A WHILE
I'LL MAKE YOU FEEL SO MUCH BETTER TONIGHT

The sun glowed in the sky, setting the whole world on fire. Smooth rays of warm morning light shimmered down from the brightening skies and settled in a rich golden glow upon every surface it could find. His muscles rippled beneath the cream of his coat as shadowed stroked between every lean curve and handsome contour of his masculine frame. With gentle footsteps he swept through the trail of tight clearings that meandered through the quiet wood.

The soft sound of his footsteps as they fell upon the moist soil beneath him drummed a incessant beat upon the ground as he strolled beneath the small birds that chirped upon their treetop perches, his handsome face glancing up to catch a glimpse of the small robin that gingerly followed him, hoping from branch to branch. Tiberius simply gave a light chuckle at the thought of hunting such a creature, he had never been too fond of game; thought like any wealthy gentlemen, he could never pass down the offer of pheasant. With their feathers of rich crimson and gold, pheasants were certainly a more attractive specimen; though personally, the young man always preferred deer over any bird. The serpentine hiss of the wind as it snaked through the trees and slipped through his long strands of fur and felt fresh and cool against his skin and face. Sunlight swept across the dark contours of his features as he strode forward - slipping down his long regal neck and rippling across the lean muscles that rode his slender frame.

His steps moved with a graceful ease and as his pace quickened, it almost appeared as if he never touched the ground at all; instead like some haunting phantom, he seemed to float above the earth. His tail swayed gently behind him as he moved in casual contentment. Clouds of mist and fog clung around his footsteps, as if he were walking through clouds of heaven and, as he sighed, his breath left his lips in a cloud of silver mist. There was something mysterious about the early morning hours; the world trapped within a moment when neither sun nor moon reigned in the sky - instead it was a time of in-between. With the cold glow of the moon still hanging low in the sky and the warm light of the sun burning low in the distance: the world was left unsettled with faded daylight and nigh-time shadows clashing in each nook and crevasse. This somehow seemed to make the beauty of the cedar woodland feel tense and eerie - but Tiberius loved the unpredictable side to nature. He embraced it - in fact, he found it rather beautiful.

His pace slowed as he approached a tight gathering of trees within the woodland, they almost seemed to circle out around him as he stood there gazing curiously at the strange formation. With each circle there grew another, ring upon ring of tall sturdy trunks and a web of thin branches and lush summer leaves. He stood within the middle of the ring of trees and, as he studied closer, he noticed the way they all seemed to dance in the breeze; it was almost as if he had stumbled upon mother nature's holy alter - the tree bowing down before the man they now called their king. Golden eyes glanced around: his gaze once again falling upon the majestic sunrise that burned beautifully before him. It reflected like fire in his eyes; bringing his secret passion to life. He felt enchanted, as if everything he was feeling was strange and surreal.

A subtle rustling of the leaves rattled behind him and Tiberius instantly held up his guard. His fur bristled slightly as his tail rose dominantly above the regal arch of his spine. There was an electricity in there air; a momentary tension that sang through the silence as he turned his head slowly to face the direction of the disturbance. He had to admit, he was surprised to see not one wolf but two so close in proximity to him - and there he had been thinking he was perfectly alone. His ears pricked atop his head as he eyed the figures. The male stranger was tall and well built with dark grey fur and sharp blue eyes. He was have made a handsome gentleman, with dark markings of ebony fur weaving through his pelt. Next he turned to face the female, lighter in coat and smaller in size; she was petite and lithe with a set of what he thought to be sage green eyes. He kept his distance, lingering in the shadows for a moment or two whilst he studied the two strangers. "Morning." The male greeted her politely with a gentle nod of his muzzle. The pair seemed polite enough. Feeling satisfied that he was not walking into some secret lover's meeting - for that would have certainly been a casuistic situation, he strode forward into full view. "I have not intruded, have I?" He asked curiously, pausing mid-step to tilt his head to one side is question.

Gone Tomorrow

Touch was a sense often misunderstood. Most didn't appreciate the value of being touched, of feeling the warmth of another body. But there was also the hidden touch; the touch of the atmosphere, of the air, of the wind. Cori felt that she was better in tune with the unseen touches. As a lone wolf, she was less experienced at true physical touch. But she felt the warmth of the sun's rays, and the coolness of shadows in a way that most either ignored or could not feel. It was that ability to feel the unseen that made the female throw back her head in agitation as she looked around her. She had paused in her walk, senses on high alert. The disturbance that she felt was driving her nut uts, because while she could sense it, she couldn't place it. The scents of the other two wolves eluded her, taunting her nose but running away before she was able to place it. Things had been so different in Relic Lore lately, it was difficult to place anything - the fire had altered the scents of everything with its toxic smoke.

However, her hearing was quite intact, and she clearly heard the movements of the dark male, and the sound of his voice as he approached her. Turning her head to look to her left, she watched quietly as he approached her. He carried himself with confidence, but also at ease. The tone of his voice was nonthreatening. "Good morning," Cori returned, dipping her head in a greeting of her own. Now that she could see, the scent that had evaded her flooded her nostrils, and she breathed in the scent of the wolf standing opposite her. It set her mind at ease that now she could put a face to the presence, but there was more to it than that. There was something else there. Turning her head to look the other way as a second voice reached her ears, she watched as another male strode forward. This one was more similar in coloring to herself, a mottled mix of gray and white. However, he had a distinct dark facial mask that distinguished him from other gray wolves. At his voice, she smiled and shook her head. "No, you're fine," she told him, taking a small step backwards away from both the gray and the black males, as if to prove that they were not meeting intentionally. "I am Corinna Donata," she added, smiling briefly at both of them as she waited for their own introductions.

WELDERING DARKSIDY !!

Whether or not the second wolf was going to show themselves he was unsure at first. His bright icy blue eyes fixed loosely upon the she-wolf Corinna yet the subtle rusting of leaves as paws moved in their direction made him glance off to one side. Weldering was not surprised to see a puzzled yet dominant appearing male stride towards them though relaxing more once he had pictured the scene. Weldering's own posture did not change holding himself with a peculiar laid back stance almost as if he was still half asleep to begin with. Though while he was maybe a little too overconfident with his safety around these strangers his alertness had not hindered. Black painted ears were fixed in the standard bolt upright position pointing towards the colourful sky as he caught the returned greeting first from Corinna and then the quick exchange of words between the two unknown wolves.

It was quite apparent that all three of them were strangers, not even familiar with one another in the slightest. Tiberious was not intruding anything at all, it was merely that Weldering had spotted her first and so had managed to greet her first. As far as the other brute was concerned he was more then welcome to come and join their conversation as he nodded slightly to agree with Corinna. The she-wolf's name was stored to memory yet it did mean it was time for introductions and his cue to speak. "I'm Weldering." He greeted once more with his name addressing both of them as he stood now slanted to face them both as well. "I'm a lone wolf, fairly new around here." He then added, throwing in a tad amount of background information about himself.

Gone Tomorrow

Three lone wolves happen upon a chance meeting in an overgrown forest. That was the situation. It wasn't a situation that Corinna often found herself in. She had been surrounded by her family for the longest time before she had decided to leave. Truth be told, this was the most contact she'd had with other wolves since she'd left her birth pack. And it was awkward for her. Even though neither of the two males seemed threatening, she was well aware of the fact that she didn't know either one of them. Not their names, not their backgrounds, nothing.

Head turning at the sound of branches crackling, Cori watched as the gray male dipped his head and wandered off. She took a step back away from him, and shot a glance over at the dark furred male. "That was...strange," she commented as the unknown gray wolf was lost to view. Maybe he had spied a rabbit, or maybe he hadn't believed her when she had said that he wasn't interrupting anything. Oh well. She would probably never know for sure what it was that had driven him off. "Nice to meet you, Weldering. I'm also new..ish," she added with a smile. She had actually been wandering Relic Lore for the past couple of weeks, but she was still a lone wolf and still not a permanent resident in the forest.

It really was rather strange how the other male had decided to leave almost as though he had not heard Corinna at all. Had he missed the nod that Weldering gave him showing that he did not mind either? The young black and silver brute was beginning to wonder whether he should have said something before he could decide Tiberius was long gone and Corinna was already remarking on how strange it was. Once more he nodded in agreement. His tail flicking idly against his dark painted heels while now switching his attention solely upon the she-wolf now that the other male had lingered back into the forest.

So she was also new? It was therefore unlikely then that she would know that much about these lands and so Weldering decided to not press with any questions about Relic Lore, instead he seemed more interested in her. She was new, did that mean she was planning on staying? "So what brings you here? Just passing through or looking for a new home?" Though thinking about the question himself he was not entirely sure what he was doing here himself.

Gone Tomorrow

It hadn't been too long since she'd been in a pack, but she hadn't thought that the etiquette for meet and greets had changed much. She didn't think it was generally acceptable for wolves to just randomly walk off without explanation, particularly if the wolves were strangers to one another. But, that was life. There was a good chance that neither she nor Weldering would ever find out what it was that drove the gray furred brute away, but they would just have to live with their curiosity. Shaking her head, she shot Weldering an exasperated look, as if to say, "What can you do?"

"Hmm...well..good question," she answered him with a chuckle, her laughter cheerful. Why exactly had she left and come to this particular spot? "No where else just seemed to feel right, if you know what I mean," Cori explained after a moment's pause. "Things at home just weren't working out, so I left, and ended up here in Relic Lore. I've been following the local wolf pack, I've been considering joining." Maybe it was more information than he wanted, but she wasn't entirely sure how much information to divulge to a complete stranger. Stepping away from him, she began to continue on her path, pausing long enough to turn her head over her shoulder and indicate that he was welcome to join her. "What about you?" she called back over her shoulder.

He knew that some loners had no intentions on remaining in the same place for too long, even before arriving here Weldering had lingered around a couple of places before his restless paws brought him here. Yet he understood how Corinna felt sensing a sort of overwhelming satisfaction about Relic Lore that was making him stay. It was very hard to actually explain but she managed it well as his dark mask nodded slightly. It seemed as though they were on the same page and because of this he decided to follow her for a while when invited. Padding forwards without hesitation as Weldering begun to escort her down the forest path.

To say that his previous pack had not worked out by mimicking her tale would have been a gross understatement. His past was a sore topic for him and so when asked about it he was always rather blunt - at least to strangers he was. "I lost my home, but like you I'm looking for a new one." Swiftly moving the conversation on as Corinna mentioned a local pack and straight away his thoughts were set upon Swift River. It was the more established cadre and Weldering knew the gerent quite well but unfortunately they had not gotten off to a fond start with one another with a series of misunderstandings. But Ruiko, the second in command of Swift River, also mentioned a new pack formed by his uncle in the mountains. Weldering had not been over to check it out yet but it seemed unlikely Corinna knew about this yet as she only mentioned a singular pack. "There is a second pack, in the mountain." he added. Corinna might have been holding her information close to her chest but Weldering hoped to soften her up a bit and perhaps gain a little trust by sharing some of his own findings. "I don't know the name of the second pack but I won't be joining either of them. I've not been getting on very well with the leader of Swift River and the leader of the other pack is his uncle."
