Duck - Narimé - Aug 14, 2012

[dohtml]

Watching, ever watching. The young she wolf was watching and
waiting for a chance to spring up. A chance to run up and trip the thing
or maybe distract itsomehow. Maybe if she started yipping and snarling at the
buck it might try to attack her instead. Then Kyrie could grab a leg or something.
No it's still too dangerous to do that.. She gaged the energy left in the deer.
It was still going strong, but eventually something would happen.
The wolves weren't going to tire out before the deer anyway.

The scent of the animal made Narimé's mouth slaver. She wanted to bite
it and not let go. The young girl wanted to feel bones crushing in her jaws.
Sprinting again she came up beside the deer snapping at it's shoulder and belly.
The deer swung it's head and antler towards her but otherwise continued running.
Narimé easily bounced away from the one dangerous antler and continued
snapping her jaws around it's front ankles and legs. One close call with the deer's hoof only
inches away from her ear and Narimé drifted away for a bit. Then she jumped back in
close to the deer again. The silvery wolf managed to grab a hold of the deer's
shoulder and open a wound up but the buck wrenched itself away and continued
leaping along with Kyrie near it.

Well at least I'm gonna sleep well tonight after this hunt. She commented silently
to herself about how long it was taking. Still she shouldn't complain. The only other deer
she'd taken down with Sloane and Follko was an injured doe. So it was an easier hunt.
She was underestimating this bucks strength.
At least I opened up a wound onto it... She growled happily as the scent of blood
washed over her nose. Only a matter of time now.

Getting her normal breath again Kyrie tugged along with the deer. Sometimes she fell in his flank but would come back again to remind him of her presents. The deer seemed more busy with Narimé, looked like the grey huntress was working on it's nerves. He bulked, kicked and even tried to get her on his antler. Under his legs Kyrie could watch the grey long legs of her partner. Bouncing away and back for the counterattacks. The white woman snickered as she watched. The deer was obviously not amused and didn't want to get eaten. Again the deer made a fierce sound. Painful and sharp, bingo. Kyrie grinned, she couldn't see the wound but she could smell the blood that dripped out of it's wound. The white woman licked her lips, she too wanted the metallic taste of blood, patience in the near future they would have a party from this deer. There was no way she would let this deer escape after giving so much effort and energy. Fireweed was big but Kyrie had the feeling they would ran into the nearing area if they didn't watch out. It was a false sense of direction just like time. It felt like forever in the time they were chasing but in reality it could be over in a split second. The deer was now wounded, it couldn't run more than Kyrie or Narimé. Blood was rushing and it was dripping out of the wound. Soon he would feel the sympthomes of blood loss or he got more tired.

Kyrie was in lead again, she snapped at his leg, pushing him more to Narimé or tried to bite in his belly. She wanted it, she could smell it. The deer kicked with his behind legs but the white fae took a sprint forwards aiming for is neck. Afraid he threw his head in the air, and went more to the right side. Alright time for the last shot, he should have some nice blood loss now. With a hard grown she jumped forward. The deer dodged aside and began to run for his life, if he didn't already. Her paws found the ground again and made up for the lost metres. Kyrie looked if she could see Narimé but she was unable to look more at the grey fae than just her lower body. This may be a chance for her to take him down. If she jumped or let it trip Kyrie would jump in immediately to help. It was just waiting for the real attack.

Duck - Narimé - Aug 14, 2012

The two wolves were relentless in their hunt. The deer was
finally beginning to labor although this made it more dangerous.
As the deer ran it began bucking out lashing it's hooves at the wolves
trying to deal damage to them. The deer was more focused on the
two wolves than it's surroundings. But so too were the wolves more
focused on the hunt than the landscape around them.

First only a few tree's flew by the trio as they danced their hunter and prey
dance. Narimé realized with a jold that she was running too fast to fully dodge a fallen log.
She tripped over it and watched Kyrie and the deer run farther towards the woods.
"Kyrie be careful!" Narimé barked out in worry for her friend. If any of us collide
with a tree at this speed we would be dead on the spot!
.

It just so happened that a few seconds after Narimé thought about the danger
the deer tripped on the branches of a fallen tree. As it stumbled forward still watching Kyrie
with white eyed fright the deer hurtled towards a forked oak tree. At the last second
the deer saw the tree and tried to dodge it but the bucks momentum kept it going straight
right into the tree. Narimé bounded forward now focusing on both surroundings, her friend
Kyrie, and the deer. When the deer hit the tree a loud CRACCK sounded and the animal
stumbled sideways. It's second antler dropped off however blood began to drip
from the deer's nose, mouth, and ears.

Narimé stopped just before reaching the deer thinking that it would bolt again,
but instead it just stumbled around like a newborn fawn. It couldn't walk straight let alone
leap away through the woods.

"What the hell? Narimé didn't know that the deer had sustained brain damage. All
she knew was that its antler had fallen off and that it was bleeding everywhere. The
silver girl guessed it had injured itself somehow but she didn't know just how bad it was.
"Kyrie how come it's not running?" Narimé called for her packmate with a slightly
curious but worried voice.

Perhaps with Kyries knowledge of healing she might be able to explain the depth of the injury to Narime?

When she was little she could jump like no other, others say she was like a bird when she jumped into the air. She was able run out adults if she was serious. However, whens he grew up her speed grew instead of her height. Because it was dangerous to run fast without any control she was only allowed to run at her limit in big open spaces. She trained her speed because she loved the feeling of rushing through nature and feeling like the wind. In secret she would run with more obstacles but never in a forest. The chance to trip or hit something was too big since she was caught in her own speed and her mind couldn't keep up.

This was one special moment she was almost on her maximum could run. Everything went well so what exactly happened? The only thing she knew was that Narimé called her name. Kyrie hadn't heard her friend fall because of the sound of the hooves. Her eyes wanted to look from where the sound was coming from but she couldn't. She had a little problem..

The ground was just clear minutes ago was now filled with obstacles, and not to forget the trees came back again. Why now? Her eyes looked for a escape route, there was no way she could stop now. The deer was just some centimetres before her and tripped. Just on instinct she knew to jump but fell on the ground because of her speed. A loud crack near her ears, she flinched, waited for pain but there was none. Confused she looked up. She lay on her side between the branches. Slowly she stood up, could see Narimé coming from far. What happened? Her body felt brittle because of her fall, she saw some drops of blood turning her fur into light red. She felt it was nothing serious so she walked towards Narimé. 'What happened? Suddenly you were gone?' Worried she watched at her friends eyes but the blue eyes watched something behind her. Frowning she looked where Narimé was looking at and her mouth fell a bit open. The deer stumbled, had a hard time to even stand up right. Out his ears, nose almost everywhere where blood could run out came blood. Her breath was stuck in her throat. With a side look she watched Narimé. Kyrie herself never had seen this before. However she could kinda have guessed what happened. The pieces were already falling in place. The big crack..'His skull is crushed.' She said softly. The deer had no chance, he was already gone only his brain was still struggling to live on. Kyrie walked to the suffering animal, without any problems she could come near. Fierce she took his artery between her teeths and snapped it.

The animal lie down death of bloos loss. 'His brain was damaged because of the fall. The skull is hard like stone but the brain is weak like a berry. Both were crushed because of the speed.' If they were running in normal speed the impact would have been way less. Maybe a headache for some weeks but not a cracked skull. Kyrie didn't know but her appetite was way less than before.

Narimé couldn't speak. She stood there motionless beside Kyrie all
thrill from the chase drained out of her. A crushed skull? Bu..but how?
A whine began to sound between the silver girls jaws. How could something
like that happen?
Narimé had no words nor a clue as to what had just occured.
She was still taking in what she saw. Kyrie stepped forward and ended the poor
creatures pain. The bloodied animal lay on the ground all life draining from its
sad eyes. Narimé was still aghast.

'His brain was damaged because of the fall. The skull is hard like stone
but the brain is weak like a berry. Both were crushed because of the speed.'

Narimé listened to the white she wolf. Her mind registered that what she said
sounded like a really bad injury. Something Narimé was glad that had not happened
to either of them. I..I..can't believe..Wow.. She felt tears beginning to well
up around her eyes. Why am I crying for my food??? She sniffled then sat in her spot.
Narimé was no longer hungry either, but wasting the meal like this would be horrible.
Especially after how the thing died.

Even so the young wolf could not will herself to get up and begin gnawing off chunks
to bring back to the caches. Right now she was entirely too shocked.

Kyrie watched the deer, prayed he was already gone before she gave him the finishing blow. Thanked him for his body that would not be spilled. It was hard to believe that this had happened. If she didn't saw it herself it would be hard to believe. A deer wasn't some tiny mouse. It's skull may even bigger than Koda's. In other to break it you needed a tremendous sort of power. Ironically it was the power of the deer himself that made him in that state. Next to her she heard some sniffing. Her eyes watched how the grey fae got tears in her blue eyes. She may cry over something she wanted to kill herself but it wasn't strange or to laugh over. He deer didn't die as it should, besides she could have met the same fate if she didn't fall on purpose.

In hope to cheer her up at least a bit she liked her tears away and began to get the meat of the deer. As much as they could bear they would take home. In order to not spill anything as promised they had to eat. Also to give them strength for the way back home. The thought of eating the meat made her sick in the stomach but she had no choice. Kyrie knew, at home she wouldn't eat not even the tiniest bit from this deer.

After they had enough chunks that it was almost impossible to walk she began to eat. With bile in her mouth she ripped of piece for piece till there would only be his bones left for the scavengers. Softly she nudged her friend who seemed in total shock. 'Let's go home.' She whispered softly as she took the chunks into her mouth. She wanted to go home as soon as possible.
