end of the world - Elettra - Aug 14, 2012

And it was done. The smile over the older woman's features allowed her to know that she was happy with the decision in which Elettra had made and the position in which she would be granted in time if she was as successful as Elettra would hope her to be. Elettra is unsure of when she might need the woman's help, having not ran into any trouble as of yet, but had to doubt that over the future the pack would have it's challenges - it's ups and downs. After all, they were only just fairly new. "Until then, welcome to the pack." Elettra presented to the older woman, dipping her gray lined muzzle downward before turning slightly off back which she came. Her blackened nose jutted out then, signifying which direction to go. It was obvious where the pack boarders were by scent, but Elettra was willing to silently escort the woman towards the den of the pack to which would now be Skana's own.

Although he had said little throughout the exchange, Koda's mind worked through the nuances of his partner and the seasoned female before them. Elettra offered the possible position of advisor to the older fae and it seemed to please her greatly. Perhaps she had resigned herself to meaningless grunt work for the privilege of joining a pack for protection and security. Although she was yet unknown, Koda had little doubt that her experience would one day prove itself. He had seen it time and time again in his former pack. Wisdom and life experience was hard to come by.

As Elettra bade Skana welcome and indicated that she should follow as she turned back towards their home, now also her home, Koda tipped his creamy head in a subtle show of respect for her. His carriage was still high and spoke of his position by his Lady's side, but the nod was for her age and wisdom. He and Elettra were untried in this venture and even with such a strong foundation, a bit of life experience to fall back on with their newest member might just come in handy some day.

He met her eyes with his own golden ones, giving her an appraising look before he added his own deep voice, "Welcome to Willow Ridge." His words were simple, yet spoke volumes as he took his place by Elettra's side with a final smile for Skana, Willow Ridge's newest member.

Welcome to the pack... Relief washed over her like a wave and she allowed the tension she hadn't realized her muscles had been holding to melt away. It looked as if the weight of a mountain was lifted off of the old woman's bony shoulders. Like the final incantation of a spell, the matriarch's words made Skana's new belonging tangible. Here would be a new start, and Skana would embrace it fully and with the same determination she approached everything else. It was the same drive that had kept her going where others would admit defeat. She would not, could not, accept defeat. Her own life a testament to that.

Meeting the honeyed eyes of Koda's, she smiled slightly at his welcome. "Thank you." She addressed them both. She did not say much, but the rumble of her voice carried the sincerity of the words. Humbly her head ducked, lasting a moment longer than the nods of acceptance she had received from her leaders.
