The story after the end - Eden - Aug 14, 2012

(Order: Eden | Shade | Athena)

Little stones rolled down, bounced from stone to stone till it disappeared in the grey hues. Eden who had watched the stone going under stood on a tiny ledge, following the path that seemed to lead downwards. For the big brown wolf was the ledge way to tiny. Balancing by every step he took, just to pass a few metres he needed more than 20 minutes in order to come back healthy and well. The rough rocky terrain was hard to walk upon, not needing to say that hunting was even harder. Without the rain giving him water for free he had to look in every hole, every slit. He ate leaves and bark to get enough liquid to spend the day with. This was the live of a loner, a loner who had to pass this unfriendly land. Unfriendly or not he did not complain. This was his own choice, there was nothing to complain about. Complaining wouldn't fill his stomach or moistened his sore throat. The only one who could do that was himself.

It seemed unbelievable that on a place like this, Eden could smell wolves. On the other hand, this place was remarkable good to defence. Those who did not know the terrain could easily broke a leg or trip and fall into the abyss. He could see some green, the trees and plants just randomly popped up out of the greys. Again his sea green eyes watched the deep ground beneath him. He wasn't wrong if he thought many had fell down into the pointy rocks. Eden swallowed his stocking breath, alright no time to ponder about this. He was only frightening himself, steady but slowly he walked further on the line of life and death.

As time passed his paws finally got more ground. Relieved, what he did not show on his face, did the wolf walk further. There was still a long road ahead but he planned to get at the more plane ground before the darkness would rise. He wanted to fill his stomach before he would sleep. Although he didn't look so bad if he compared himself to other rogues he had seen in life. Eden was still well fed, a bit hungry now after hours walking, jumping and climbing. Silently he walked further. Above his head he saw the raptors searching for a little meal. Focused on the birds he watched one attack not so far ahead. Fast he moved further to the place the bird had been.

It was not really easy to walk, his paws hurt by the sharp stones but he could bear it for a little while longer. The bird was already high in the sky but Eden wasn't out of stealing his prey. Instead he watched his surroundings. It may a little early for diner but he if he could get his paws on something it was better than waiting till the appropriate time. A small pattern, almost faded with the rocks got his attention. He lowered his body and began stalking the animal. His nose identified it as a snake. He knew the snake, however never saw him in real life. Curious but cautions he crawled closer. The snake had poison in his fangs but it would be a good meal. Poison was dangerous if you didn't know how to treat it, however that wasn't the case.

His body tensioned as he stay put. In a second he slashed at the snake. Getting him away from his stone in the open air. A fierce hiss came from it when it bared his fangs at him. A cruel yet enjoying smile was shown on his face. Without hesitation he came closer but still hold a safe distance. A snake could throw himself into the air in order to bite him. Like he was dancing, Eden moved around the snake with elegance. The snake attacked, out of instinct he dodged but putted his paw on the grey body. Another hiss. Now, he had to bite his head off! A sharp pain throbbed in his paw. Damn, two white fangs pierced through his flesh. With a furious bite Eden separated the head form it's body.
Careful he took the head with it's fangs out of his paw. The burning pain made him groan. He had prepared himself for a bite so he didn't lose his calm in the hunt. The wolf hopped to his meal, first things comes first. The poison wasn't deadly, otherwise he never would take such a risk. Before he could begin with his meal a other scent came into his reach. Damn, what now? It was a wolf not so far away. Eden stood up, showing he was willing to fight and not to back off.

The story after the end - Shade - Aug 14, 2012

Sorry it doesn't not match in length to you're beautiful post!

Shade was becoming more nimble, quick. He'd explored far and wide across Relic Lore. He knew the Serpents Pass, the mountains in general, were a very dangerous place to be. Only for those brave enough to scale to the snowy peaks and watch out to the endless sky from the top. PErhaps he'd be able so see his new home. Drooping Willows, maybe he'd be able to see Rose from here. Rose, the name still made him feel happier. He really liked Rose. Maybe even loved her. He was ajdusting to the mountain air quickly. His stamina pushed him further. He'd have to break for a rabbit soon or risk hunger in the harsh mountains. They looked beautiful, peaceful from afar, but alas, it was not right. They were rugged, bared, backbones of the protection of Relic Lore from the outside to the east. They held the boundries of his home in Relic Lore and the outside regions.

While Shade scaled to the snowy peaks like a mountain climber, with a form of experiance. He could have sworn he scented a wolf. Lone no doubt, he knew of no packs so far in the rugged mountains. But then again, he was a merely here in Relic Lore for a week alone. He stopped for a bit to hunt, smelling, searching. He couldn't seem to catch a hare's scent. Nothing, not even a whisker off of the delectible animal. He knew that even though these were not the full mountains, he knew that he'd still have to adjust to the thin air. he also knew these to be the foothills to the Mountain of Dire. He planned to scale it.

align:justify;">Life hadn't been easy on the white matriarch. Her beloved mountain almost killed her, she got into a fight with a crazed lone wolf, and had a stressful meeting with the Guardian of Swift River. Her life would no longer be a breeze that she could coast on. No, her life was a roller coaster. She partially blamed her past leaders for her chaotic life, but she wouldn't be in the place she is now without their help, if you really call that help. Their betrayal towards Swift River left a severed bond between the two packs, but her meeting with Triell might turn it around. Time will tell.

The white lady glided through the rocky piles of Riddle Heights. Her body was sore, but she couldn't lay around, she wouldn't allow herself to. Bella and Datura were safe with Chantille and Tlarx, becoming bigger every day. The fight with the lone black wolf, Shadowstorm, left a scar underneath her left eye where the woman decided to kick her in the face. Her left front leg hurt more than usual after twisting while tumbling down the mountainside. She was bruised, hurt, but still strong. Nothing cold slow the Leader down. She took everything in stride and she wasn't about to stop now.

The scent of others wafted through her nostrils as she traveled through the Heights. One was lone while the other smelled of pack, both males. She didn't recognize the pack scent, most be a new one around. She knew of all of the other packs in Relic Lore, so this one must be very new. Loping towards the two, she spotted them up ahead. Her gait slowed and she came upon the two men, her head held regally, but not in a dominate way. This was neutral territory, she had no power here, but she wasn't a self-conscience wolf. Pride ran through her veins.

The story after the end - Eden - Aug 14, 2012

The scent that had made him unable to eat his meal in peace was nowhere to be found. Still, the air reeked by his scent. Eden grumbled, maybe the wolf was just passing by. The wolf wanted to turn around and begin to eat his well deserved meat when he saw a spot brown. A chocolate brown wolf walked uphill, he didn't seem to give any attention to him. Eden was sure the wolf could smell him just as he could. His mouth stayed shut but he kept a eye on him. Slowly he walked back to his snake. Sat down so his paw could rest a bit. Caring he began to groom the wound, he needed some herbs or plants. He didn't think about suffering some illness or a disease. After all he still had to make some miles down before he could rest at ease. His eyes searched around, some trees were a couple of metres away. Not a problem, after eating he would search for ingredients to make a remedy. His teeth ripped the skin of the white meat, chewing on the fresh diner he smelled a other wolf scent. Female was it this time. Other than the brown wolf she was more eye catching. Her fur was like the snow in the high mountains. Eyes like gold. He was kind of surprised that such a wolf lived in these area. It could be that she was just passing by like the other but both had the scent of a pack in their fur. Could it be the white and brown wolf had a rendezvous? Better not to bother them with is existence, Eden took his snake and walked a bit away from them to sit in the cold shadow. Watching them both while eating. The white fae had a pride aura around her, not at least afraid for the rough mountains. More like she felt at home here in this place, she did look healthy but she was wounded. Wounded but not defeated, so she could bring problems if the event would turn out in something, not so good.

His meal was not nice as he hoped. Worth the effort but it would have taste better without these visitors. Eden stood up again, if he had the chance he would leave silently so they wouldn't notice him leaving. He had not any contact with wolves since he leaved his pack. What was the benefit to go socializing now? He didn't even know if they were not a danger to him. Eden knew himself, he wasn't the kind of wolf who got tons of friends nor did other wolves appreciate his presence. He wanted to leave quietly but when his weight, even a tiny little bit, got onto his poisoned paw he couldn't resist to let a soft groan roll over his lips.

Shade looked around, he saw the wolf eating a snake. Looked to Shade now that he would have to settle for different prey here in the foothills. His attention suddenly snapped to afamiliar and nn-familiar scent. They were mixed. He didn't look a tthe wolf to know it was Athena, not his sister he loved dearly, Shadowstorm. <b style="color:#8e989d">"Ah my sister, you're not the mountain type, what ar--"" He turned to his 'sister' only to find Athena. He suddently went on high alert, muscles tensed and he saw the scar. IT was a signature Slayer move. He could see it happening, she'd been in a fight with a slayer. By the smell of her, she'd fought his sister, Shadowstorm. He calmed himself. Shadowstorm probably led the fight with words.

He dipped his head slightly in apology to the fae. <b style="color:#8e989d">"You smelled like someone else. My apologize." He said. <b style="color:#8e989d">"If you don't mind me asking, where did you get Shadowstorm's cent from?" He asked calmly. His eyes gave away nothing, his breating now adjusted to the higher altitude. This wolf was either a friend, nuetral or an enemy. Out of the corner of his eye. He saw the wolf leaving. <b style="color:#8e989d">"Wait, please don't go." He called, now directed at Eden. His last words he said to both of them, <b style="color:#8e989d">"I am Shade Slayer. Subordinate of Willow Ridge."

As she came closer, about 20 yards from the two, one of them spoke breaking the silence. However, she didn't expect anything that would come from his mouth. His sister? Surely, he was mistaken. Her brothers were either dead or in another place far from Relic Lore. This man looked nothing like her two brothers anyway. Must be another crazed one. As the man turned to face her, his muscles tensed up unexpectedly. Her body reacted the same, her ears laid back on her head and head dipped down to protect her vulnerable neck. Was this going to be another fight? Athena could hold her own, but she wasn't at her best. Plus he was a pack wolf like her, stronger than most lone wolves. If he wanted to fight, she wasn't about to back down.

However, her body was in luck. No fight today, for now at least. The man apologized quickly and relaxed. Her body was a little reluctant to relax as well, but her muscles lost their tension and she nodded accepting his apology. He went on, her ears upright listening. Shadowstorm? She never heard of that name. Perhaps it was the woman that she had fought back at Lost Lake, but she never asked for her name and she never gave hers. "What does this 'Shadowstorm' look like?" She asked, her tone level and smooth. The other wolf that was around, decided to take his leave which didn't bother her, but bothered the other man now named Shade. Willow Ridge? Must be the name of the new pack.

The story after the end - Eden - Aug 14, 2012

Almost.. Eden sighed troubled. If had keep his groan in he wouldn't be spot. Most of the time this kind of leaving was the most successful, wolves who didn't know you wouldn't care that you were about to leave. Maybe the would look at your back till you're gone but now. Seemed that this guy liked to talk. What should he do? Go anyway and letting the two wolves alone, they already were in a conversation so what did they want from him. Or rather the brown wolf since the white woman didn't care like the most. Eden would rather go away, finding his treatment and find a place to sleep in peace without those chitchats. The brown wolf gave his name as Shade Slayer. A little ironic smirk was shown a second on his face. Slayer huh, well the wolf didn't really came up for his name.
Willow Ridge was obviously his pack. Willow, from the tree he guessed. What did that packwolf here? A willow was not to see here anywhere so why would he leave home to go in the mountains. These mountains contained nothing of use for outsiders. Shade wasn't a loner like him. Eden could go where he wanted not restricted by a pack or group. At Xeno he couldn't even leave a good reason, he was one of the happy guys who could leave since he had to search for herbs and plants.

Eden turned around, had immediately regret of his action since he couldn't back down now. Hopping was a bit difficult on the rocks but not impossible. He didn't want to leave a weak impression of himself but straining his paw for a attitude? No he wasn't so stupid that he would prefer to have needless pain to give a nice attitude. How other wolves looked at him was something he couldn't change anyway. At some safe distance he stopped and sat down. His throbbing paw was a bit of a annoyance but this was a bigger issue. His sea green eyes observed the white fae and than Shade. Meeting his eyes on purpose. So what now? There must have been a reason he called him. If not he took the energy to hob to here well he could have just left if this guy didn't call for him. Was he now obligated to give his name to? Eden didn't even care how those strangers were called. The chance was tiny that he met those two ever again so why would he bother to remember their name. (He would remember them since that was just the way his brain worked.) Besides the white woman didn't gave her name too so Shade couldn't expect him to tell his! Before Shade could, Eden's eyes looked away. 'Eden Asthed.' He muttered.

The story after the end - Shade - Aug 14, 2012

Shade was a bit hesitant. He didn't want a fight with this obviously high ranked pack wolf. But he didn't want to give his sister's identity away. He gulped, <b style="color:#8e989d">"Shadowstorm is jet black, icy blue eyes, has a broken leg that's healed now. Other then that, she can be rude, arrogant. Throws out terms to insult people like, 'un-noble, just a pack wolf, and um, crazy bitch." He said. He was being comepletely honest. <b style="color:#8e989d">"Was she being rude and ungrateful again? Did you fight her? You look like you've recieved the signature Slayer kick. It's a kick to the face after a Slayer is defeated." He said seeing the scar just below her eye.

A flashback oddured of his first steps into Relic Lore. They were peaceful, at least until he'd met Skana, he was near the Iridescent Lagoon hunting: Shade was carefully smelling the surroundings for any hint of wolf or prey. Too many encounters with vicious wolves made him wiser, more careful, more skilled. He kept thinking back to his sister. He would never find her so he gave up all together. She probably wasn't even in Wildwood. Probably somewhere else, living the excellent life of a lone wolf with the skills he had taught her. He was near the lagoon, the Iridescent Lagoon, the largest water source in the Wildwood. He searched for prey, scenting a deer, but he can't catch it by himself, so he continued to settle for rabbits. With his luck, he scented one. He would eat good while he was here since the lagoon attracted so much prey. He stalked it carefully, making sure he got the prey. He lept and landed on it. Crushing it's neck with his paw, he killed it.

Shade headed to the small cave right by the lagoon to eat his prey. The cave was his temporary den. He enjoyed it, reminded him of his puphood home. He ate the rabbit, savoring each bite. He'd been well fed with a steady supply of rabbits since he arrived at the lagoon. He cleaned his paws, getting all the blood off and licked his muzzle clean. He left and drank a bit out of the lagoon as he swore he scented another wolf or two. If he was right, he would surely end up running into them sometime. When, he was unsure of that.

Since he had heard of the packs of Wildwood and seen them. He had been at war with himself. He wanted to join a pack. But he didn't want to disgrace the Slayer line. He now realized he had to make a choice. Find a pack and be a loyal member to defend said pack, even with his life. Or he had to turn away, keep the Slayer line a lone wolf line and continue the hunt for his sister. He took a few hours debating and conferring the facts, plusses and delta's of each thing. He reached a deadlock. So he decided, he'll keep looking for Shadowstorm unless he finds a pack that he would be suitable for.

The story after the end - Athena - Aug 14, 2012

align:justify;">Everything the man said explained exactly what and how the woman she fought was. Her attitude and appearance matched exactly that of this 'Shadowstorm'. "Yes, I fought her." Was all she said. She didn't feel like going into details about the fight, it wasn't any of his business actually. However, he could go ask his sister if he liked, which would probably be a biased explanation of the fight. She didn't need to explain or stick up for herself, however, it is what it is. The Slayer kick? So that's what it is called. Well, looks like she has a name for her scar. The scar underneath her eye was her most prominent scar that she has now, all the others were underneath, hidden by her luscious coat. They were hard to see, but they were there. Her body wasn't perfect and that wasn't her first fight either.

Her attention went towards the other male in her company. His fur a dark cloak with hints of dark brown intermixed with the darker hues. The mixture was very unique, interesting even for her. "Athena Everfall, leader of Poison Path." She stated to him and well to the other one as well. He seemed to be more like her, reserved and cautious. Her fiery eyes glanced down at his injured paw, not knowing what he managed to do to it. Looking back up at him, not knowing he was skilled in healing, "I have a healer that can help you with that." She said, almost offering. This was a first. Athena never offered anything to outsiders, but something about him - perhaps it's that he reminds her of her own self or she's going through kind stage, either way she found something in him that needed to be saved.

The story after the end - Eden - Aug 15, 2012

Shade didn't gave any other attention to him. It almost wanted him to yell. What the hell why did this wolf call him but than ignored him like thin air! He was used at not being noticed until he said something but this was just humiliating. If he didn't regret enough that he turned around he did now. Talking about his sister, that doesn't seem to look like him. This Shade, he was the first wolf who actually made him mad. From the inside not the outside. He stayed with his calm mask but his inner Eden was burning as hell. Not only about his behaviour, he called his own sister a crazy bitch. For Eden, who adored, admired, she was just a goddess, his younger sister was everything. He may spoil her a bit but she was a strong and smart woman who had a big future. Every wolf was different but just to say thing like that about your own sister in front of a stranger? Did this guy had a bad relationship with his sister or something? Cause it was clear as daylight his sister has lost the battle. Seeing this woman who just had a scratch by her eye walking proudly in her lands, or nearby. Shade didn't even think about the damage she could have done to Shadowstorm. He said his sister was crazy but he was insane.

Eden took a sharp breath in order to not snap at this wolf. Maybe it was part jealousy but how Eden was now he would never admit it. Since Shade had still the chance to talk about his sister in the open. He, even if he did not hold any regret, could not.
At least the white woman gave him some attention. If he was happy with he did not know, the way she looked at him made him uncomfortable. These pair of wolves, why did he met such combo together? Alone they might have been quite normal, especially the white fae. If he was alone with Shade. Who knows maybe he would let himself go for a instance..
Finally the fae introduced herself as Athena, leader of Poison Path. That explained her proud aura. Eden was not really surprised, most of the alpha's gave off some kind of vibe where you knew in a instance these wolfs were not just the average wolves you walked into on a normal day. Her gold amber eyes seemed to have spot his injury. Wary he watched her expression. She offered her help. Found off guard he looked at her as if he heard wrong. Why would she help him? It sounded nice but maybe it was a act. There was no reason to help him. A stranger, unsocial and who did not speak a word. However there was no way she could think of any benefits from a newcomer. Confused in fight within himself he frowned. It would help if they could give him the needed herbs and plants. It would be a less pain in the butt to search of it. On the other hand, he would be indebted to because of their help. 'You might show me where I can get the needed herbs and plants. I know what I need but this is unknown territory for me so it takes more time to search. After that I can handle it myself.' Wow, he didn't know if he had to be proud of give himself a kick at the ass. He spoke so much so suddenly. He even accepted her help, partly. Damn, the poison was working better than thought.
