Illuminate the Night - Lunae - Aug 16, 2012 [dohtml] [dohtml]
Silence fell thick in the thicket of secrets. Above, a few night-flying birds would call every so often, but never quite often enough to track them. They would make a point of being as silent as possible, hunting the rodents that scurried underfoot, their wings never making even a whisper of a sound. It was with the same predatory grace they exuded that a snow-white fae would pick her way through the dense trees, disconcerted by the thickness of the foliage. If one were to glimpse her as she stepped lightly forth, one would think that perhaps they were seeing a spirit. Her desaturated grey eyes took on a dull hue in the lapse of moonlight, her whole form resembling that of a wolf fallen from former glory. That was not to say that she was not beautiful- quite the opposite, for she was quite the sight to behold. Her thick pelt was the purest of whites, resembling freshly fallen snow, and she might've radiated innocence, were it not for the deep sense of intelligence that radiated off of her. A flash of color- a pale salmon-colored tongue would escape for a moment, gracing her obsidian lips to wet them and then disappearing within her muzzle once more. Lunae Electi paused in her steps finally, looking around her, allowing her jaws to part so she could better scent the air. Ears would swivel back and flatten, desaturated eyes narrowing as she turned her head slowly. She scented another wolf, and would not let them think they could possibly sneak up on her. Paws flexed as she shifted, spreading them evenly as her head lowered. Her shoulders pushed forth, bunching her thick fur and the sinewy muscle beneath around her neck, and her tail wavered low to the ground, helping her to hold her balance. "Who's there?" Her demand for an answer was soft, yet she knew, just loud enough for whoever it was to hear. Friend or foe?

She would not move from her defensive posture, simply swinging her body so she was facing the direction the voice, disembodied, came from. A deep, warning growl reverberated from deep within her. The voice was male, and she was brought up to remember that not all males were good. Some like to take advantage of females, and she wasn't about to let her guard down, especially when she couldn't see him. Her reply was laced with a snarl, ears pinned to her head firmly as she bared her vicious incisors. "Someone you don't want to piss off. Who the hell are you?" Perhaps she was speaking to an alpha or someone who was stronger than her, but the way he spoke said otherwise. While her voice was strong and commanding- always the dominant sort- his was cautious, almost fearful. While she wasn't angry- nowhere near it- she was being very defensive, unsure of how to take the stranger who had so timidly refused to give his name.
She was not the sort to start fights. Hence why she had not thrown herself forth to confront this faceless stranger. However, she was never one to back down- when a fight was started, she would damn well finish it. It was in her blood, in her being. Born both a warrior and a mystic, she knew how to work her natural weaponry, and she had only ever been bested by one wolf- her father. It was not fear that left her so tense, simply the caution within her telling her to not let her guard down. She stayed down low, prepared should he decided to show himself and attack.

Her hackles raised at his reply, and she snarled viciously, raising her body and lifting her tail nice and high as he drew into her line of sight. Now, as far as size went, the two were evenly matched. Why, he even sported a few scars, and if the scared little pup voice she'd heard previously hadn't been his first words to her, she would've respected him for that. Now, here he was, his tail lifted slightly, attempting to seem the dominant of the two of them. She would not submit. Not to him. As a matter of fact, she would assert her dominance. She was a born-and-raised warrior, and it ran thick in her blood, hot and dangerous. Paws flexed as she snapped her jaws, ears pressed fully forth as her eyes blazed silver in the moonlight that caught them for a moment. Holding herself high, she stepped forth, issuing a warning. "You don't know about nightmares, stranger, and if you wish to stay ignorant, I'd be a bit more...respectful." Her stance and body language said all. This was his one and only chance to submit. The way she stood, it was clear she was ready to slam him firmly in his place. If he didn't take this chance, she would fight him, plain and simple. She stared unblinkingly at the strange male, who smelled nothing of the pack that she hoped to be a part of. She owed no allegiance to him, and this meant that she could be harsher. She hated when others attempted to dominate her, attempted to place fear in her. Although she was a kind, sweet wolf, she did have that inner warrior, and was, by nature, extremely dominant. Submitting to Ice had been extremely hard for her, and her whole spirit had fought it. Now, though, facing this stranger, a low growl rumbled in her throat- a secondary warning. She would not submit again, not unless it was to the Swift River members above her.
