RE: full moon, fog, friends and foes - Cisco - May 10, 2013

[dohtml]
Long moments went by where Cisco could see nothing as his oxygen deprived lungs gasped for air. He could only listen helplessly as a battle raged on. He knew that the strangers were done for. They wouldn't last but moments against such numbers and he had killed the only other one from their pack, ending the threat of sickness for all of the Lore. He started as another approached and lifted his head with a pained cough. His vision was starting to return and he saw a pair of golden eyes looking at him with concern and asking how he could help him. "Koda?" he questioned in a whisper.

The eyes brought his young friend to mind, but after a few moments he could see clearly that this was not Koda. He was a similar size and age and had the same golden eyes, but his coat lacked the creamy silver that he knew so well. Help him... No, he was long past help. With a careful movement, he gave a small shake of his head, holding back another cough with great effort. He tried to speak, but could barely get a whisper out. The young man was keeping his distance, understandably. "Please... come closer. You've nothing to fear from me. My time is marked in minutes now."

He waited for the other to come a bit closer, so he'd be sure to hear every word. The others had to get this information and he knew that he wouldn't be able to bring it to them personally. Doing his best to speak clearly around the blood that kept filling his mouth. "These two. They are the last. The sick one is no more. His sickness will die with me. Everyone is safe now." A fit of coughing interrupted his choppy words, causing a few droplets of bright blood to drip out of his mouth.. When it subsided, he gave the other a weak smile. "Please. Can you... tell Koda about me?"

He couldn't hold his head up any more and lay it upon his bloody paws, wincing with the slight movement. He whispered, "I'm Cisco Moriel. Tell them...it's...over." His last word was barely a whisper, but there was a certain peace in his voice as he lapsed into blessed unconsciousness.

RE: full moon, fog, friends and foes - Ice - May 13, 2013

Alright, gonna try and wrap this beast up! This main thread will be archived in a week, May 20th, however you're welcome to ask me to keep it open in case you want some private time afterwards (like Destin/Koda?).

[dohtml]
you do not know who is your friend

or who is your enemy

until the ICE breaks.
It was sweet, the taste of blood between his teeth. Flesh gave way at the power of his jaws, arteries and veins tearing open to leak the monster's lifeblood straight into his mouth; red stained Ice's white muzzle and throat, running between his fangs. He could feel the fading force of Slyscar's pulse, the rush of it into his mouth lessening as they sank down towards the earth was one. Black legs buckled under the devil, and Ice was unwilling to let go of his prey until no life remained in him. From the corner of his eye he saw Cali leap in, ripping at the dying wolf's flank as if he were prey, aided by the two black shadows who had come to Ice's aid earlier. This threat had hounded them for months, shadows in the darkness and specters in the fog, but once the wolves of the Lore had come into their lair they were helpless.. and now, very dead.

Small cuts and scrapes lined the right half of his face where Slyscar's frantic teeth had collided with his skull; now that he stopped to think about it, it stung a bit, just like his neck. Slowly Ice pried his jaws apart, fangs slipping out of the dead wolf's flesh again, and stood up straight, staring down at the face of his defeated enemy. His eyes had gone dull and glazed over; white hair was stuck in his salivating jaws. Ice grimaced, and turned to look at Kade, Elettra and Cali in turn, giving them somber nods. The smell of victory began to permeate the air, and he looked over his shoulder, where the fallen form of the white wolf lay desecrated. They had won.

"It's over," he rumbled to those who would hear; his silver eyes moved over to where a wolf, who had not been with them previously, lay dying, guarded by one of the Hollow wolves. Ice frowned; his nose was clogged up with the scent of blood, and he rubbed it against the inside of his foreleg, leaving a large, red stain before padding over to the fallen one and @Destin. He said nothing, merely lowered his head to sniff the stranger; blood, both his own and someone else's.. a scent that was vaguely familiar, if not so much as Fleetfoot's... Hopefully, it meant that that other wolf was dead, too. Without a word Ice tipped his white head back, to sing a song of victory and loss, of this stranger. It was likely they would disperse now, to go home with their own friends and families; their job here was done.

RE: full moon, fog, friends and foes - Fenru - May 18, 2013

[dohtml]
Wide copper-hued eyes scanned about the area, straining to see through the fog. Snarls and growls that had once filled the air suddenly fell silent. Something was wrong... his mind raced to a horrific conclusion. Something's wrong, something's wrong. He yelled out for his superior, even if he had barely left the immediate area where the ambush had taken place,"Ice?!"

Fenru nuzzled his mother's shoulder, hastily seeking her gaze before striding purposefully away from her. "I'll be right back." Some meters away he thought he heard some rogue chattering away underneath the dense foliage, possibly even laughing at him as he walked in the wrong direction. He whipped around and let out a ferocious growl of his own to hear silence rise up once more against his eardrums. A couple of quick steps and a brief inspection at the base of a tree brought the figure of a small fox ambling away from him. One loud bark was enough to send it further into the woods and in its absence, the yearling realized just how still everything had become. Somewhere to his left, the name "Koda" was whispered and his ears swiveled about until he reoriented himself to find where he had originally started at the beginning of the brief fight.

The sight that greeted him left him breathless. The towering figure of his mentor and Guardian stood nobly over the sable rogue he had ended. The sight of blood instantly brought the youth over to Ice's side as soon as he had let go of Slyscar's throat and declared that it was all over... that they, the wolves of Relic Lore, had won. Kade, Elettra, and Cali stood nearby, but Fenru paid no mind to them - not yet, anyway. A low whimper left his vocal chords and he gawked over Ice's condition, assessing if he was truly all right.

A short going-over confirmed that it seemed that he was going to be okay, and once he was through, he stepped back, tilting his head upward to add to Ice's triumphant hymn. Night would fall and the sun would rise again when the morning broke upon a new day... The world would turn and Fenru with the Leaders and their most trusted subordinates would age, but Rissa and the heroes who had avenged her untimely death would not be forgotten. He would make sure of it.
