A Golden Crown - Karpos - May 21, 2013

Karpos Slayer

until you know what's inside it

Karpos was calm, calmly curled up at the stomach belonging to the only warmth he ever knew. The mother that had let him hang in her belly for a little while then fed him in his dark and safe world which had consumed him with peace and tranquility. When his little eye lids started to disappear before him and his blue eyes were visible, but in his own eyes, he only saw a blurry new start. There was more than it appeared to be, the blurry figure that he made out to be his mother was asleep it appeared. A small little cry from everything being so confusing made him mad a bit. "Burrlyeh! Everytians Burrlyeh! He cried out, not caring for his mother and sister who were asleep. At least, he was pretty sure his sister was asleep. That was left to be determined, however he knew his mother was there and her breathing against him told him she was sleeping. Or at least something like that.

Small little high pitched squeals were then admitted, a new word that was calm and courageous to him. His feet started to slowly gain balance as he started to stand, something he had never done before. His eyes calm as he tried to see where he was standing, but alas everything was blurry and he could only see little bits in front of him. “Mama… mamamama? Mmmmmmmaaaaaaa?” He asked as he stumbled back down to the ground. He hoped someone would answer his call of distress. That was what he hoped for, someone who would teach him, though of course his mind hadn’t reached that conclusion yet. The only thing he knew right then was that he had tried to stand, he fell and let out a high pitched call because it had hurt a bit to stumble. That was his SOS.

RE: A Golden Crown - Adsila - May 22, 2013

[dohtml]

It had been a world of sound and feeling, the calm breathing and soft hum of her mother's voice, the sharp squeaks of her brother and the whistling wind at the entrance of the den. It was all that she had known, until a surprise came upon her. Her eyes began to crack open, her short limbs were strengthening and she could see blurry shapes all around her. Motes of dust swirled around her, coming in and out of focus as she stared at them, captivated. Every new thing fascinated Adsila, it was like a whole new world had come crashing down upon her.

The young princess was curled up at her mother's belly, next to her brother; the young prince and her litter mate. She had her head hidden under the tuft at the end of her tail, and was in a light sleep. The calm breathing around her made everything so peaceful, so it was easy to drift off. But then her brother had to go and ruin the peaceful moment with a loud squeal.

"Burrlyeh! Everytians Burrlyeh!" She heard more high pitched squeals after he spoke, and a scowl appeared or her face as she lifted up her head. A low sound emitted from the back of her throat and she paused, a curious expression on her face. Did she just make that sound? All anger was forgotten as she tried the sound again, this time louder. It sounded more like a playful growl than a serious growl, and her head turned towards Karpos, a wide smile showing on her face at her new found talent. Her denim blue eyes saw his blurry shape rise slightly, as if he was standing, before he fell back to the ground with a sentence of sounds. A puzzled look crossed her face briefly, and she opened her jaws uncertainly to duplicate what her brother had said. "Mmmmmaa....Mmaaaa....Ma!"

Looking towards the blurry shape of her mother, she gave a slight nudge of her nose at the larger female's side and gave a high pitch squeak, hoping to catch her attention. But she continued sleeping, and a disgruntled look came upon the young princesses face. Maybe she wasn't close enough to be heard?

Getting her paws under her body, Adsila slowly started to stand, her legs straightening under her with a slight wobble of her body. Once she was standing properly - or at least not wobbling too much - the young princess put her right foreleg forward and set it on the ground, before lifting up the left back leg and placing it behind her left foreleg. Following this pattern, she made her way past Karpos and to her mother's head, only stumbling a few times. She leaned slightly against her mother's neck, and looked at her face, listening to her calm breathing before almost yelling in her face. "Mama!" If that didn't alert her presence to her mother, what would?

Karpos had a bit of a scorning face to his sister as he called their ma a ‘mama’. She was not mama, she was ma and there were no other words that could describe her. “Silleneh Adsi! Iteh ises ma; notehgn mama.” He said with a tart voice. His sister could be such a brainless girl at times; he was firm on his belief too. The thought that others would call his ma a mama was sickening, almost horrifying. His head felt dizzy as he slowly got up, trying again. He attempted to walk over to play with Adsi, but soon he fell and hurt his knee. He was clumsy, just like his aunt Shadowstorm.

His tail wavered a bit from side to side, his eyes calmly staring at her, though he only saw a dark colored blob. He couldn’t see 10 feet in front of him. It seemed like a bland and small world, and oh how he wished to have better sight then he had at that time. He fell back down into his mother and curled up at her stomach, giving up on his endeavor for glory and playing with his sister. His eyes were blinking as he thought about the world outside of him. Was there more than what had been offered? After all there could be more, for once he thought that the world was dark, but now he saw the light. Was there something else that would come in with time? He assumed he would find out soon.

Karp let his eyes wander as he tried to look at the ceiling. "Adsi? Whearer areh you?" He asked, he knew where she was, but he did not think about it.

It wasn't Short Namara :)

When Rosealia didn't respond to the yelling she had just received, the young princess nudged her mother's muzzle with her own. Why wasn't she waking up? Many possibilities filtered through her mind, but one stood out from the rest: Did she not want to play with them?

A frown crossed her face and she pouted, there was no reason that ma wouldn't want to play with them. But at that point, Karpos' voice rang out, with an accusing tone. Turning her head to look at his blurry shape, she saw him rise and take a few tottering steps towards her before falling down onto his knees. He always fell down, she called him clumsy, and even though he didn't make a sound she still wanted to see if he was okay.

Crawling forwards, she was practically slithering on her stomach as she dragged herself to him just as he called out for her. "I is righteh heare, Kaerp." Her voice was still heavily distorted, but it was getting much clearer and easier to understand. She curled up next to him, placing her head on his shoulder blade and putting her forepaws under her lithe body. She sighed softly as she stared off into the distance, there were blurry shapes, but it was likely just shadows from the dim light that filtered through the entrance. She wished that the blurriness would go away so that she could see clearly. Seeing big blobs of colour was very creepy, and it seemed as if they were always surrounding her; watching the young princesses every move. Shifting her gaze back to the blurry shape that was her brother, Adsila let a smile grace her features, before giving a small tug on his ear and giving a sharp squeak; asking if he wanted to play with her.

Karp crawled slowly towards his sister’s voice, nudging her a bit when she went after their mother’s muzzle, the lazy butt. "Gejet ur lazzzehy butteh uppppkeh ma!" Karp exclaimed with a frown on his face, his mother was being lazy and sleeping instead. He could feel his ma breathing, though it was faint from her sleep. He nudged his sister again, knowing what they could do since their mother wouldn’t get up. They could play by themselves. He batted at the muzzle of the brown and black blob that was his sister. His deep blue, almost sapphire colored eyes were staring at Adsi with interest as he waited for her to bat back at his muzzle. He hoped his vision wasn’t the only one that was messed up for no reason. He wanted to see clearly now. The thoughts of when they could see clearly were vivid in his mind, as if he could almost picture it, and it seemed great.

The image was of them playing inside the den, and their mother and father were with them. Within that he knew that they were playing with them. They all had eyes, but the colors were blurred out, all he knew was the fur color of his ma and da. He knew he had the same fur color as his da and nothing else. He knew that his sister had the same colored fur as his da and nothing else. It was his family that he knew, and it was all he really cared about. "Weh cansies playegh withouteh ma." He suggested as he battered at her tail and muzzle with his paws again. The blob, he was pretty sure, was his sister. He guessed that because it was smaller than the other which was his mother. Then there was the fact he thought he was hitting her muzzle and tail, but it was all so blurry that he couldn’t actually see where he was hitting her.

RE: A Golden Crown - Adsila - May 30, 2013

Adsila watched as Karpos crawled over to ma, and nudging at her body just as she had done moments before. The brown pup couldn't help but let out a giggle as her brother yelled at ma to get up, but even so there was no reaction from her. She just continued to sleep, or maybe she was ignoring them on purpose. Well, if she didn't want to play with them, they could play by themselves. And just moments later, Karpos voiced her thoughts, and a smile tugged at the corners of Adsila's lips.

"If ma dosn't wont to pilayegh wif us, weh cansi pilayegh by owerseleves." She felt him bat at her tail and muzzle with his paws, and batted him back. The young princess got her feet under her and stood up somewhat shakily, before letting out a squeal and half-leaping forwards into the dark, blurry shape in front of her. She head-butted his side and toppled down to the ground; giggling.

There wasn't anything else that was more fun than playing with her brother. Looking at Karpos' blurry shape, she leaned in and took a firm grasp with her jaws and tugged at his ear. Her teeth were only just starting to appear as small bumps in her gums, so she couldn't do much damage even if she tried. Another giggle escaped from her maw as she let go of his ear, and sat back on her haunches, putting on a look of complete innocence; even though he probably wouldn't be able to see it with his blurry eyesight. A thoughtful expression briefly crossed her face, what if Karpos had perfectly good eyesight, and she was the one that saw everything blurry? Well, maybe she could do something that required good eyesight to see. It was a few moments before she got a brilliant idea. Putting her face directly in front of his, Adsila poked out her salmon pink tongue, she stayed in the position before leaning her head forward and licking his nose, or at least where she thought it would be if she could see properly.

Karpos smiled a toothly grin as his sister told him what he had just told her. It made him smile to know that his sister agreed with his point of views on the matter of playing. Playing was serious business, or more like the only business that he knew of. After all, everyone had a mother to feed off of; everyone drank milk, which was plentiful, so all there was to do was play. He swatted at her tail again, smiling still for he was proud that his sister was playing with him instead of ignoring him. He giggled because she had simply repeated him when she had spoken, and he swatted more at what he figured to be her muzzle. He could barely even see her. "Sieeellly Adsi, datheh is whaet I juset saeid." He said smiling.

Karpos has only known darkness until this point, and he had to admit, looking around was tiring, but at the same time, he was grateful almost that his sister had decided to play with him. The darkness was extremely boring, and with anymore darkness, he would have died of boredom. If he had just sat there, drinking milk and listening to stories he did not understand, he would have died of boredom surely. After all that’s not much of a life. He giggled again as he continued to swat at her. Then he carefully got up and attempted to get over to the other end of the den, so she had to chase him if she wanted to swat back. "Caeugch meh if yousis can." He said with an evil smile to his face. He was having fun and she was gonna lost the game. At least this is what he thought. Thoughts often were deceptive. He thought the world was dark, but it was so much more. What else was he wrong about?

RE: A Golden Crown - Adsila - May 31, 2013

Adsila felt Karpos' continuous batting at her head and muzzle, and reached out with her paws to bat him back. She let out a girlish giggle as her brother spoke to her with an almost accusing tone, but with a smile on his face. She knew that she had repeated exactly what he had said only moments before, and didn't need reminding.

She was just about to bat him back in the muzzle with her front paws when Karpos got to his feet and made his way shakily over to the other side of the den. The young princess cocked her head to the side; wondering what he was doing. But her curiosity was put to rest as Karpos looked back at her, and dared her to chase after him.

Grinning, Adsila stood up; splaying her legs evenly beneath her lithe body before lurching forwards to catch her brother. She ambled up to him, almost crashing into his body because of her slow stop. She managed to lift up one of her front paws without toppling over to the ground, and swatted at his muzzle while giggling.

"Nowa yoou needeh to cagetch meh." She half crawled half scrambled away from Karpos and closer to ma, daring him to chase after her. She knew that he wouldn't be able to catch her, she was simply just too fast for him, and he was always falling over his own paws anyway. Turning her dark head back to him, she gazed at his blurry shape with denim blue eyes that sparkled with excitement.

Karpos grinned as Adsila chased him, batting at him he giggled again with joy and curiosity. The feeling of being tired was a reason to be calm, he needed to save his strength, his energy, and for another day and time in which he would need it. Like protecting his ma when they played games for instance. That gave him an idea for a game. They fight, but not hurt each other, and they have one protector of ma, and one evil villain trying to get to ma. He had an evil face to him as he lumbered over to her, batting at her. But then curling up, hiding his muzzle and speaking. "Nowehd yous haz tooeh getegh to me faaccccjjjeee." He taughted her, his speech blurred and faint because he hid his muzzle and he was just a little puppy that couldn’t talk right.

Karpos had to admit that his sister was quite the little challenger, and he had no doubt that he would be a great warrior to protect his ma. His thoughts drifted back, to milk and honey, much like a human child’s mind would float back to being candy and a warm cradle to sleep in. The warmth of his mother, he wanted to seek it out, like he needed it. But alas the man had issues getting to his mother with his blob-like sister in the way. "Areh youvs tiresed too?" He asked her, wondering if she felt as drowsy as him. No doubt they would fall asleep soon, to leave their mother at peace and to dream. For in dreams, one enters a world entirely their own. It would be best if they had both slept. But they were both stubborn children.

RE: A Golden Crown - Adsila - May 31, 2013

[dohtml]

Adsila watched as Karp made his way over to her, and gave him her most threatening growl that she could manage, although it still sounded like a cat purring even though she had been practicing. She felt his paws bat at her muzzle again, before he curled up and hid his face from her. Her fluffy ears picked up the sound of his muffled voice, and let a grin wash over her face. She crawled forward on her stomach, and poked her black nose at him, hoping to poke him in the head. But through all of the blurriness, she couldn't tell whether she was poking his head or his back.

The young princess let out another one of her well-practised growls, and nudged him roughly with her muzzle, hoping to roll him onto his back so she could pin him down on the ground. But instead of him rolling over, she heard his muffled voice again. This time asking if she was tired, and now that Karp had mentioned it, she felt drowsiness pull at her mind and body from the day's romp. It was tiring running around on legs that were wobbly and always seeming to fall out from under you, and looking around at all of the blurry shapes made her brain all fuzzy and tired.

Opening her jaws wide, Adsila let out a large yawn. She looked at Karp's blurry shape for a few seconds, before laying down next to him. "Cahn weh sleeph nouw? I iseh tihred." The young princess closed her eyes, and cuddled closer to Karp, burrowing her head between their bodies and folding her front paws underneath her lithe body. Another yawn escaped from her maw, and she slowly drifted off to sleep, calmed by her ma's slow breathing and the silence around her. The day's work was done, and now it was time to sleep.
