From Dawn Till Dusk - Narimé - Jun 03, 2013

[dohtml]
@Malia

She was tired. However nausea was still keeping the female up. Narimé thought that after she'd given birth the sickness would go away. Why aren't I getting better? She stretched her legs right outside of the birthing den keeping an eye on the opening. She was waiting for those little pups to be curious enough to follow her out of the den and look at the world. Keeping an eye and an ear on the den Nari sat down to rest. She opened her jaws in a wide yawn then gazed out across the surrounding landscape.

Her thoughts turned to her own mother and father. She tried to think back to when she was a pup, but all that came to her were memories of Dnakinna pack with Muerda. Nari wondered if Sibo could have told her more about her mother. But of course he's not here now... She brooded upon that fact for a few moments wishing that Sibo could have seen her now. She wished that he could have seen his grand children sleeping soundly behind her. Or at least Nari thought they were sleeping.

"I wish you were here. I have so many questions you could have helped me with... Mostly about them.." She gestured over her shoulder to the den behind as if there was another wolf, Sibo, sitting there with her.

Thirst prickled at her throat. Nari felt the dryness and realized she would have to leave eventually to get a good drink of water. She hadn't felt hungry for a long time which concerned her. Nari knew that she had to eat even now that her pups were born. However every time she did eat the gray mother either wanted to puke afterward or she had problems defecating. The young woman knew something was wrong with her but she was afraid to tell the rest of the pack. She did not want anyone to worry about her. Besides I don't think Simaea can help me with this..

Quietly the silver she wolf rested closing her eyes and breathing the warm air in deeply.

she doesn't care how she gets there, as long as she gets somewhere she knows...

The large thing hanging from her jaws slowed her pace slightly, but the air was warm and Minka didn't mind keeping her pace at a stroll now that her prize had been caught. Her paws collected dirt as they had gotten wet in the process of catching her prey, but they were drying quickly and soon the dirt would fall off as if it had never clung to her. Turning the bend she saw the entrance to the birthing den and her silver queen laying in the entrance way, her appearance spoke of weariness and the fae could feel worry creeping up inside her once more. Still, she forced herself to put it far from her mind, she knew if the alpha was seriously ill she would inform the pack, in fact if it was any of any of their business she would tell them. Her eyes took up an amused sparkle as she grew nearer, as the carcass that she held in her strong jaws was that of a beaver.

Laying the gift down near Narimé's paws Minka gently licked her leaders chin in greeting, and then settled down next to her. Her belly reached the ground and the tawny fae couldn't help but to enjoy the rays of sun that her body was absorbing, soon it would be too hot to do too much, but for now the weather was pleasant. Turning to her alphess she joked, "I remember you saying something about beaver at the meeting, I thought you might like some whenever you got hungry." The words were kind, but tainted slightly with worry, Minka had noticed how thin Narimé had become, her ribs visible beneath her pelt. She had been doing all that she could to help nourish her leader, bringing her all kinds of prey, including an incident that involved a particularly stubborn salmon, but nothing seemed to agree with her stomach.

Looking back into the den the fae smiled, "I can watch them for a bit if you would like to get some rest, or perhaps stretch your legs." The offer was genuine, Minka had always enjoyed spending time with pups, being somewhat of a mother hen, she often times found herself acting like her own den mother Huffie had. For a moment she became lost in her memories, pleasant ones of when she had been such a small pup that her world was only as big as the den and the small area in the entrance. The pups were nearly a month old now and she had taken her turns in watching them, though she assumed they would recognize her as part of the pack, she knew they probably didn't know who she specifically was. They had begun to toddle around and the pack would soon have to be keeping a constant eye out as they begin to try to escape the den and explore.

RE: From Dawn Till Dusk - Narimé - Jun 29, 2013

Note to self: This thread is a day before she sends out Inali to get El's help.
Pups can jump in if they want <3

[dohtml]

She scented Minka just before the woman appeared; a beaver held in the hunters jaws. Her silver banner flicked upward wagging as Nari lifted her head up. She tried not to make her pack mates worry by acting her usual peppy self. The young mother was beginning to learn how to mask her worried anxious feelings on her face with a calm expression. Though it was growing increasingly clear to Narime that she had to get help for herself before she became too sick to take care of her pups. Besides it's not like I can hide it anymore. Not with my ribs beginning to show. She still continued to wear the calm unafraid expression upon her maw when Minka lay the beaver down at her feet.

"Thanks Minka!" She sniffed the beaver knowing that she should take a bite out of it and eat, but her stomach would not cooperate. The silver wolf simply felt no hunger. Only a dull ache in her gut which she had long since learned to ignore. "Well I hunted one of these before. Then when I finally caught it on my second hunting attempt I realized that it's not the best tasting meat. A little musty you know?" She licked her chops not looking forward to forcing down food just to keep her milk flowing for the pups.

"Go ahead." She gave Minka permission to look after the pups. Nari had been perhaps a bit overprotective of them. She hadn't really left the den too often and neither had the silver female actually called the pack to see the pups for the first time. A few of her members had her trust and had seen the pups including Simaea and now Minka. Nari knew she had to let the rest of the pack see them eventually.

Sighing she sat up rolled her shoulders then stood up fully on the tips of her paws stretching. "@Yuka, @Titan, @Malia you guys be good for Minka for a little while okay little one's?" Nari called to them inside the den softly then turned wrenching herself away from the earthen home. "I think I'll take a little walk before I eat." She dipped her head to Minka leaving the beaver near the dens entrance. This would be a good chance for Nari to steal a drink from one of the caverns deeper tunnels flowing with water. She wasn't going too far away and would be back as soon as possible.

@Malia
@Yuka
@Titan
We'll wait for one of you to respond before continuing, Minka needs some puppy love <3

[dohtml]

The woman chuckled as her alpha explained about her beaver experiences, as it was the tawny fae's underside and legs were soaked from hunting the one she laid upon the ground. The musky taste lingered in her mouth and she had to agree it wasn't her favourite meal, "They've never been mine either, but deer and rabbit don't seem to agree with you..." Minka trailed off, her expression growing worried as she looked over her leader, her eyes briefly resting on her shrunken sides. A whine slipped from her throat, she couldn't think of anything else to do to help, and it seemed none of the herbs Simaea had been trying had done any good either.

Her worry was cut short when Narimé allowed her to watch over the pups, her tail began to beat against the ground and a large grin adorned her face. The femme had given up her dreams of ever having pups of her own because she knew she wasn't fit to lead, and so looking after her alpha's pups was the next best thing. Turning her golden gaze inside the den her eyes grew warm as she took in the appearance of the small mounds of fur. "Yuka, Titan and Malia, three perfect names for three perfect pups," this would be the first time that the fae heard their names, though she was sure soon the pack would be sick of calling them out as the pups wreaked havoc.

Minka's attention turned back to her leader with a smile, "Go and relax, take as long as you need, you deserve it, and we'll be fine here." The woman was sure Narimé wouldn't be relaxing and would return very shortly, all women were protective of their cubs, especially if they were their first. It was kind of a catch 22, the mothers didn't relax while they were in charge of watching the children, but it also stressed them out to be too far away from them for too long. Shaking her tawny head the fae laid it down upon her paws, watching the forms inside the den, content to stay here for as long as Narimé needed.

RE: From Dawn Till Dusk - Yuka - Jul 22, 2013

[dohtml]
Life seemed to be perfect paradise at the moment. Malia was not jumping on him and Titan was not bothering him with his strength. Since Yuka had been born he had been the runt of the litter, but after a few weeks, he had happily regained much strength and was steadily growing. Instead, he sometimes wished that he would be all the more better than his siblings. He never wanted to hurt them but he certainly did want to be better than both of them, to prove to them that even though the smallest at birth he could be the strongest. Today, both of his siblings seemed to be asleep, at least that was what it looked like to him, as he had just currently woken up to the world again. His mother was nowhere to be seen and for a moment he worried that something had happened to her, before he realized again that Narimé’s warm form had been by his side less and less recently. Taking this time to look after his siblings, the Thorben sat up as tall and proud as he could, keeping his teal eyes on his sleeping brother and sister.

His attention was easily stolen from the sleeping bundles when he heard Narimé call from the entrance or…exit of the den. Getting on his short legs and looking around to make sure there weren’t any monsters in the corners of the den that could get to his relatives; he walked towards the front of the den, popping his head out as he watched his mother leave. Speaking up for the first time in awhile, he yelled out to her, "Buh-buh, Narrrrimmmé." Hearing other pack mates around him always call his mother Narimé and his father Sloane, he went into the habit as well and was finding it hard to break, even if someone else corrected him. Turning towards Minka, he tilted his head at her. She looked kind of familiar, and she definitely smelt familiar and so Yuka sat his rump in front of her as he leaned forward in an attempt to sniff her paws,

RE: From Dawn Till Dusk - Minka - Jul 27, 2013

[dohtml]

The silver form of the leader disappeared in the distance towards the direction of the main caverns, but the golden gaze saw nothing but the three forms in the den. Wonder was clear on Minka's face, it amazed her that these small balls of fluff could grow to be well, Sloane sized. The whole atmosphere felt warm, like curling up with someone you love on an August night when everything was just perfect. The idea of her own pups was strong in these moments, but she knew that wishing for them was futile, the fae would never be a leader and that meant no pups. Besides the fact pups would mean a mate, which would require a male wanting to mate with her, she had Asterion but well that was all confusing, she didn't know if they were mates or friends or something in between.

The form of the pup moving into a sitting position broke Minka free from her day dreams, instead she became absorbed in the deliberate actions of the boy. Like a little protector he watched over his siblings, unknowing that he had a protector of his own, the woman would do anything to keep her alpha's pups safe. The teal eyes seemed even more blue with first contact to the sun, and the tawny fae became enthralled with the boy instantly. Golden gaze widened at the boys call, but she kept silent not knowing whether Narimé preferred her son to call her by her title rather than by mother.

Lying very still Minka watched the leathery nose of the pup wriggle as he took in her scent, after all this was how he would remember her in the future. Her scent would be the most recognizable thing about her, it would be how the boy would know who was nearby should anything ever happen. When the grey head retracted from her the woman settled her own tawny head upon her paws, her gaze still trained upon the pup. "I smell kind of funny huh?" The sentence was accompanied with a warm smile and a small chuckle, the joke was made at her own expense but she knew that to the pup she probably did smell funny.

RE: From Dawn Till Dusk - Titan - Jul 30, 2013

[dohtml]

Being in the dark was nice. It didn't hurt his soft blue eyes staying inside of the shadow filled den. Every time the dark Thorben pup went out into the light his eyes would hurt. Though he had a lot of fun whenever he and his siblings were allowed to go outside.

So even though being in the dark watching the adults from within the den, Titan would much rather be outside where all the fun was. Where all the new things were.

With a whiny yawn the young pup blinked his puppy blue eyes and watched his mother leave. Scrambling up next to his silver coated brother Titan listened as Yuka gave their momma a strange farewell.

"Wuy you sssay nah-reeem-ay! Dat momma! BYE MOMMA!" Titan gave his own farewell while trying to push against his brother to nip Yuka's rust hued ears.

After a few moments of watching the place where Momma disappeared Titan's plate-like ears swiveled around at the sound of another feminine voice. His powdery blue eyes looked over the gray and rust woman lying upon the weed covered earth. His black nose twitched at her scent. She kinda smells like momma. His eyes still kinda hurt from the sunlight, but now he was able to see this stranger adult wolf better.

A bright red object distracted the black and silver pup making his head whip around to stare into a nearby cedar tree. In the tree was a red thing moving quickly from branch to branch. Titan did not know it as a bird quite yet. Nor did he have any idea that the bright red thing was a northern cardinal.

Running towards the tree that held the bright object Titan barked happily releasing a shrill whine as the bird flew to another tree. The young pup tried to follow the bird unknowingly away from the den. He knew that he wasn't supposed to leave the den but if Yuka was out here and he wasn't getting yelled at then it should be okay. Right?

"Wad is it whad is it!" He ran on hobbly legs to each tree that the bright red thing flew to.

Gonna skip Yuka to try to keep this alive

[dohtml]

Suddenly another dark pup emerged from the den, blinking its puppy blue eyes at the sunlight, the golden gaze of the woman drank in his appearance, still so young and innocent. A chuckle escaped Minka at his outcry, it seemed she wasn't the only one that had found Yuka's formal title for his mother odd, but she tutted her tongue as Titan pulled at Yuka's ears. Shaking her head slightly she scolded gently, "Now now boys, play nice." Following Titan's gaze a smile glazed her features, this might be the first time the mother wandered out of eyesight while they were awake, their first taste of "freedom" even though they had a babysitter.

Standing up slowly the fae stretched out her limbs and rustled her cinnamon fur back into place before following Titan back to the base of the tree. Turning her golden eyes up the side of the bough the woman just caught sight of the red cardinal as it fluttered nervously about the branches, screeching its detest to them being so close, odd that it wouldn't just fly away. Turning back to the boy the huntress motioned him to come closer with her tail, "Shh, you're scaring the poor thing, That is a Cardinal, it's a type of bird." Sure that this would bring about a million more questions to a pups mind Minka gestured quickly up to one of the highest branches with her muzzle where a patch of twigs and grass lay intertwined. Smiling she went on, "Do you see that funny thing up there made of little twigs? That is called a nest, it's where the birds live and have their babies. They have their babies in funny little circles, almost like stones, called eggs, and then when the baby bird is ready to be born it hatches out of the egg." Golden orbs once more turned back towards the den, checking to see whether Yuka had wandered close enough to hear the lesson on birds.

RE: From Dawn Till Dusk - Titan - Sep 28, 2013

[dohtml]

The stranger lady came up behind him casting a long shadow over the already dark child. He looked up at the tall woman, sniffed her, then sat down staring at her with curious round blue eyes. "Burred...card-in-all burred." He spoke a few times trying to mouth the words correctly. Then Titan looked up at the pretty red thing called a "bird". It was still flying from branch to branch staying near two sets of neighboring trees.

When the smelly stranger told him to look at something Titan tilted his head n confusion. The young Thorben couldn't see the thing made of sticks. It took the child a minute to locate what the taller woman had already noticed. Then he nodded his head enthusiastically. "Yeah! All da weh up dere!" He heard the woman call it a nest. She said something about the bird having babies in the sticks.

"Eggs?" For once the child had the pronunciation correct. "Burreds come from inside eggs?" He asked wondering how a bird could get out of a little stone. Titan had experienced enough to know that stones were very hard. That there was no way to break them. So how cudd a burred break a stone open? He wondered while looking up to the bird as it flew up to its nest still making angry noises from its red beak.

"Burreds strong. Break their little stones open. Deir little egg stones." He marveled at how strong that small bird must be. In the dark lads eyes he saw the bird as a strong enemy who could swoop down at any minute to attack them. Titan lifted his head up and looked at his taller protector sniffing the unfamiliar scent of her.

"Wads your name?" He asked looking up at Minka while she glanced towards his brother Yuka.

RE: From Dawn Till Dusk - Yuka - Oct 06, 2013

[dohtml]
When Titan’s words hit his ears, he couldn’t suppress the eye roll that followed. His brother obviously did not know the meaning of formality, but Yuka remained silently, pointedly ignoring his brother and taking pleasure in the fact that he was acting more mature than his older brother. In fact, as soon as Minka started to speak, the youngest male’s attention instantly snapped towards her, his head tilting slightly to the side in the process. Was she teaching them something new? He remembered when the lady had taught him about water and how it was bad to smell it because you could end up dying from it. She was nice, but not as nice as Inali. Inali was who he looked forward to seeing each and every day; she brought a light that no one else could ever bring upon him. If he could, he would see her every day, but he knew that she had things to do and could not spend every waking moment with him and he respected that.

Minka continued to speak and the gray boy followed along with everything she said, looking up towards the sky at the thing that was up in a tree; a bird. Yuka couldn’t remember any other animal being able to get up trees except for the furry brown things; he didn’t remember what his mother called them. Prey was not something that interested him as much as it did his other two siblings. He felt more protective of them and the rest of his family than anything else, prey didn’t really concern him, unless he happened to be extremely hungry. There was no calling to kill something though, only to protect the ones he loved and hopefully in the future he would be able to do exactly that.
