Oblivious - Panther - Jul 08, 2013

[dohtml]
Travel in the daylight was always more enjoyable for him than the adventures of night. Perhaps because he could actually see when the sun was out? How many trees had the fool nearly walked in to - how many ledges had his paws almost slipped off of? The gray wolf had lost count days ago. His only thoughts now were those of disdain and annoyance, far from his usual cheery demeanor. Panther stumbled through the dark like a baby boy (and really, considering he was a two year old on his first excursion away from his beloved home, that was an apt description). When frustration boiled within his blood for an extended period of time, the boy tended to get aggressive. It wasn't a truly dangerous aggression - there was no yelling, no outbreak of sudden sparring, or some other macho display of his agony; Panther simply moved faster, which meant he also ran in to things... Faster. The evening wore on and the wolf, bathed in the light of the moon, overtook the forest with such edacity that one had to think - his parent's had indeed poorly named him. Perhaps cheetah would have fit the fool better. Or bull, judging from all the ruination his fat self perpetrated across the foliage. Wide paws and angular hips - even a jutting belly - created a natural path across the meadow. Panther was quick to lose enthusiasm for the run, though. Around him there was darkness and the tickling annoyance of tall grass; above him only the pinprick of starlight, and a foggy moon, covered by a bit of drifting cloud. He groaned and began to idly, sluggishly make his way through the meadow - casting his gaze towards the earth at his paws, instead of the heavens, where the sky began to erupt with effervescent light. The eerie green glow was lost on him for the time being, as he was too tired to take stock of the beautiful display above.

RE: Oblivious - Inali - Jul 10, 2013

I apologize for this horrible post in advance:p No muse:(

It was close to about late evening when Inali had risen from her usual perch beside Minka. Sometimes, she just woke up randomly and took a walk while marking the borders. Another thing to add to her figurative list of 'Weirdness'. Careful to step over the bundle of sleeping pack mates, the petite woman eagerly stepped out of the den and into the fresh night sky.

It didn't take long for her to reach the borders, and while she walked through the familiar lands, she marked. She smelled the scents of many of her pack mates strongly on the border, and she was happy that they were all working to keep the pups and the pack safe from intruders.

As she continued to mark the borders, her blue gaze penetrating everything around her. Night wasn't the safest thing to wander about in. There could be many problems or complications. And Inali had just found one. It was dark, but she could still see the silhouette of a wolf a couple of meters away.

She couldn't have a stranger wander into her pack's lands, especially at night and with the pups as adventurous as they were. It was dangerous. Forgetting about the borders for the time being, the young woman decided to investigate. Her tail curling naturally above her in dominance, she walked cautiously over to the, who she assumed, lone wolf.

As she reached him, she could practically feel the waves of fatigue radiating off the stocky man. "Who are you, and what are you doing here?"Her voice was soft as she spoke the words, she didn't want to wake anyone up unless it was absolutely necessary. Her voice held a stern tone to it, but you could tell of the regular warmth of her tone right under the words she had spoken.
