life in technicolor - Chulyin - Aug 08, 2013 (Mid-afternoon) Overcast — Current Temperature: 73° F/23° C I'd prefer Nomad's Pass wolves, but all-welcome is all-welcome! [dohtml] He carried himself proudly along the outside of Nomad's Pass's borders. Pale golden eyes stared out straight ahead, determined to keep his eyes away from his paws. It had been ages since he'd found himself on rocky terrain, and so was determined to re-acclimate himself to it. His pupils flickered, scanning the land ahead for any loose rocks, as he had no intention of slipping. Before he'd found Nomad's Pass, Chulyin had climbed the mountain in the dark. A fool's errand, but he'd made it alive, fortunately. But his paws were surer now. Once stiff toes now gave way as they glided over rocks, the pads of his paws grew calloused. And at the same time, he began to regain what muscle mass had been lost in his journey. Food and exercise seemed some magical key that he never knew he'd lost. Chulyin would have liked to test the rest of the mountain, but he did not desire to travel too far away from his sister yet, not before he'd truly gotten to speak with her. And besides, he had not yet had much exposure to his packmates. Wandering off to the east certainly was not a good idea, nor did he have much desire. At least he could look out and see the land he might one day get to trod upon. He hadn't frequented the east side of the mountain much, which was why he'd chosen the east border to traverse and mark. With an exhale, the Knight paused in his patrol, tipping his head back to take in the afternoon air. It was moist and the sunrays were few. But it was a warm day, the perfect day to move. RE: life in technicolor - Aponi - Aug 10, 2013 [dohtml]
RE: life in technicolor - Chulyin - Aug 10, 2013 [dohtml] The man had hoped he be granted with a peaceful day. If Mapplethorpe was correct, then there would probably not be many strange wolves traipsing the border. He would make the borders as he did until the sun disappeared and then he would wander back towards the dens. Perhaps tonight he would find himself a place in the communal den. His head turned to look over the border, towards the Pass's land, and spotted a black mass coming towards him, all helter-skelter. His ears pinned back as he narrowed his eyes at the mass, attempting to make out the features which slowly became clear as the mass neared him. This must've been one of Naira's daughters, Chulyin realized, and certainly young if her size was any indication. He eyed her warily, a strange hint of a smile on his muzzle. Chulyin himself would likely never find himself as a father, but he was more than willing to be a source of amusement to his nieces and nephews. But the girl wasn't here to play with him, that much was certain, and Chulyin knew that the moment he caught the sickly sweetness of her smile. His own spread slightly, a huff of a chuckle puffing up his cheeks as she shot away. His eyes shifted back towards the Pass and with an over exaggerated sigh, Chulyin left his post to follow after the girl. No running was really required on his part, one stride of his being a few of her's. He desired to keep her in his sights. She would not stray too far from the Pass and he'd ensure it. But if she wanted to quench some hidden thirst for adventure, then she'd just have to do it under his watchful gaze. "And where do you think you're going, Princess?" He asked after her, paws floated over stones as he followed after her. He was a bit frustrated that he didn't know her name, his own niece, but perhaps she'd tell him if she ever stopped running. RE: life in technicolor - Aponi - Aug 19, 2013 The girl pushed herself to run faster but the sound if the large paws against stone grew closer. Black ears flicked backwards at his words and Aponi realized how close the stranger had gotten to her. Turning around the princess huffed a sigh of impatience, "I dunno who you are, so don't gotta tell you," blue eyes looked upon the man, issuing a challenge by direct eye contact. Aponi had been raised as a princess, and that's exactly what she was, she had inherited the stubbornness and fierce determination from her mother. Nothing and that means absolutely nothing could stand between what the girl wanted, she always managed to find a way around the roadblocks. The grownup in front of her smelled like Ma but she didn't know him, and he wasn't Ma or Daddy, so that meant he couldn't tell her what to do, and the princess was going to make that clear. Huffing once more the blue eyes rolled in their sockets as she stared at the stranged impatiently. Turning in her heel she began walking away from him, further from the border, displaying exactly what she thought of his authority over her. Turning her head she called back to him, "You oughta not follow me, or I'll get you in trouble!" Aponi saw nothing wrong with lying to her Ma to get this man in trouble, he was a stranger after all, and Ma didn't like strangers this close to their home, that's why all the grownups had to walk along the borders so often. RE: life in technicolor - Chulyin - Aug 24, 2013 [dohtml] As Aponi swung around to huff at him, Chulyin could only recall Naira in their youth. Though perhaps not a carbon copy of her mother, the child had certainly inherited her personality. The large man found little thread in the girl's blue-eyed challenge, and only nodded in slight agreement. "That might be true, but Naira might not be pleased if I let you wander off unaccompanied." He kept his own relation to her quiet for the time being, and met her blue eyes with pale gold, a challenge accepted. She, by no means, had to divulge her route to him, but that didn't mean he wouldn't stop following her. She was his niece after all, though the girl wasn't yet aware of that, and so he was just as sworn to her as he was to Naira. "It's a Knight's job to keep a Princess safe." He told her. She began to walk again, and he continued to follow her, staying no more than two feet away from the tip of her tail. "Go ahead," He answered, letting out an amused huff. "I think my Queen sister may very well make me a Knight again for ensuring you don't go tumbling down the mountain." He gave her a hint now, though wasn't sure if she understand it. Regardless, he went on tailing after her like the fastidious guardian he was. Certainly she'd appreciate his help when a rock shifted loose beneath her paws and threatened to deposit her down the mountainside. RE: life in technicolor - Aponi - Aug 29, 2013 [dohtml]
