Still Searching - Narimé - Nov 01, 2013 This is a little bit back dated cause of the school study/test time I had off of ROW [dohtml]
Dated 10/20/2013
She'd lost Chantille quite some time ago and was unsure whether the she wolves would find each other again. Just my luck when hunting in the rain. You lose all the scent including of your friends trail... She grumbled silently within her head. A part from that Narimé had been told of Phineas's pack farther north from Oak Tree Bend's territory. Excitement at possibly seeing Phineas again during the first few days of searching and traveling kept Nari from feeling too wet and cold as more and more storms clouded the skies. However these past few days had left the silver alpha quite tired and gloomy. Nari was wondering if she had made a wrong turn someplace and missed Phineas's pack somehow. That plus the never ending silence from having nobody to talk to left her less than happy. If anything she was missing her own home and family. The warm bodies of her family and pack mates. The dry embrace of the large caverns mouth. The silver wolf would do anything to get out of the rain for even a single day.
All that time she had spent moping around missing home meant that the silver hunter was not concentrating on where she was going. Nor the almost invisible trails left by wolves heading for the same territory of land ahead of her. The rain had wiped away most animal scents including other canines smells left by a nearby hunting party of pack wolves.
"It's been so long now. Maybe I should just head ba--" Her voice was cut off as a stank of fresh wolf scent layered upon layers of a pack s border caught in her throat. Yanking her head upwards and stopping mid stride Narimé quickly backed away from the border she'd just about trod over. If her head hadn't been hanging down depressed the alpha would have surely crossed this border without even realizing it.
Stretching her black nose forward to scent the border the gray wolfs tail began wagging happily. There were many old scents under the main male scent of @Phineas on this border. A short whine slipped through her delighted face before turning into a summoning howl for her old pack mate. Once her song was finished Nari stood drenched by rain gripping the muddy ground impatiently with her claws. A flash of white to one side alerted the silver hued she wolf to Phinea's advance.
She spotted him around the same instant he let out a bark to call for her attention. The young mother wagged her tail excitedly. Seeing an old friend took all her worries away at least for that moment in time. An excitement ran through her setting her legs afire with bolts of energy she had not had twenty minutes ago. The girls body rocked from side to side. The silver wolf stayed in place and her front legs lifted stamping back into the slush every few seconds. Her silver crown threw back revealing a wide grina spreading across her maw.
I was a pleasant surprise to Nari when Phineas continued forward pushing into her side and playfully nipping her shoulders. She barely kept herself standing while her tail reacted by wildly flipping around banging on the Argyris male's side. The she wolf mouthed his muzzle very gently in an act of play and laughter erupted from her muzzle. It was very good to see the older male again. For a moment she was happy and playful as she had been in Willow Ridge.
She replied to his play bow with one of her own slapping those long RiverRunner forelegs upon the slush and mud covered ground. The young womans tongue lolled from her parted jaws as she waited for him to make a move. Her legs stayed tense as the seconds ticked by. Her tail wagged stiffly against the breeze that kicked up through the trees.

She hadn't meant to, but seeing the mud splash up into the ivory males pristine coat made a devilish grin appear on her amused features. She jerked her head to the side avoiding the males snapping jaws then watched as he turned to run from her. Phineas had sprung only a few wolf paces forward before she took off after him. The silver hunters legs easily ate up the distance despite the slush impeding her stride.
She never paused or thought of stopping the chase while noting for a second as the border scent quickly passed her by. It was Phineas pack and obviously she was allowed in if they were playing together. Instead Narimé tried lengthening her stride only to feel her body slip a few steps before quickly recovering herself.
The two canines ran on like a crashing wave through the glen. The she wolf trying to be careful of slippery areas as the rain began to sprinkle her fur. Soon she looked like a silver trophy sleek and streamline as the water flattened her fur against Nari's tall frame. However even while running carefully the she wolf found herself slowly nearing her ex-pack mates heels. A jubilant laugh escaped her open muzzle as Nari spotted Phineas gaze glancing back to her.
"I almost got you!" She nipped and missed his tail completely closing her gentle jaws around air. The second time, with eyes dancing a bright blue, Narimé tried to nip his white tail. She could only hope to snag him in this game of tag, for the she wolf had already been worn out before reaching him. Now her energy began to wane. [/dohtml] |
