Beneath The Paper Stars - Rasend - Nov 19, 2013 [dohtml] RE: Beneath The Paper Stars - Narimé - Nov 22, 2013 [dohtml]
Chantille was gone now. Nari wasn't sure how she had lost her traveling companion. However Narimé was sure that the white healer would know what to do with herself. Chantille was older and wiser than she, and the woman would probably find a new family soon enough on her own.
So now the silver wolf walked on alone searching for that just out of reach destination. With her luck going as it was the woman wouldn't return home for quite some time. This thought worried the she wolf as her family was of top priority to the woman. Though the trip was supposed to help the bonds of a possible alliance which theoretically would help her pack and pups; the woman wasn't sure if being gone from them for so long would negatively affect her packs survival. Since she was already presumably half way there, Nari saw no need to discontinue her mission.
Her nose was set on search mode for any wolf scents in the area. Now knowing that there were indeed many packs on this side of the mountain the she wolf was being cautious. She slipped around territories trying not to be a nuisance to the surrounding families. Even lone wolves she was beginning to show a certain weariness of. Though whenever a wolf made an appearance seemed friendly enough she would gladly speak with them. For the most part she used her hunting abilities to slip through the woods unnoticed by prey and wolf alike.
It wasn't until she came upon the fresh scent of a loner that Narimé paused in her traveling. The smell told her that it was a healthy enough lone male and not a pack wolf who might attack her. So the woman decided to investigate. She noticed that his trail skirted through the shadows of the trees as if he too were hiding from something. Perhaps he doesn't want to be found? She wondered silently debating on what to do. She couldn't see him yet for the woman was not close enough to spy the male nearly 700 yards away from her.
Pausing the woman raised her head and let out a very short howl. A howl that usually meant if anyone else was around. It was not an invitational song or even a hunting one. Simply a questioning one to see who was in the area. If the male answered then obviously he wasn't too shy to find and possibly talk to. However if he didn't answer then Narimé would take it that the male didn't want any company.
She stood for a moment waiting and listening for any answer. Her head shot to the side to look towards the male who was answering her. Though the answer could have been taken as creepy by other more timid wolves, Nari simply replied by giving him a smile and a single friendly wave of her tail.
"I'm on a mission and have to travel alone." She gave the male a better answer while watching him approach closer. She kept herself neutral as always when meeting strangers outside of her lands by avoiding his gaze for the most part. Though her body and tail were kept a tad bit higher as the woman was quite used to keeping them at that height back in her pack. Her light blue eyes caught his curious ones a few times and studied them for a moment. She was surprised to see the same curiosity held within his gaze that she often held for the world and other wolves within it.
When the male began circling her looking over her form she wondered why he was looking her over as if she were a piece of fresh deer hide. "So are you hungry?" She finally spoke up after the male joined her in sitting comfortably on the frosty earth. "We can look for some thing to eat if you are up to it." She felt his probing gaze upon her face and let her ears fold forward, a silent warning to the male not to start anything he might regret later. Then she picked up her eyes for a moment and let a toothy grin plaster upon her maw to try and smooth over any bad vibes the male might harbor towards her. [/dohtml] |
