see me off - Saix - Dec 20, 2013 Her ears were flattened against her head as she trudged forwards, the snow driving down in unrelenting sheets. It messed with her vision, the completely white landscape throwing off her sense of direction completely. It had been days since she had eaten last, a hunger like she had never experienced gnawing at her insides as the cold bit at her through her thick coat. Saix struggled to put one paw own in front of the other, a lost black dot in a surging sea of ice. Looming on the horizon was a line of trees - if she could just reach them she could find shelter, perhaps even food if she was lucky although she doubted she'd have the energy to catch anything. The she-wolf stepped unknowingly onto the frozen river, the deep bed of snow the only thing preventing her from falling flat on her face. The trees were coming closer, only metres away. Her pace quickened in her hurry to get out of the worst of the snow. A smile stretched across her lips as she finally stepped into the thicker forest, shaking out her coat with a sneeze. Immediately her nose fell to the ground, sniffing for anything - rabbits, mice but most importantly of all, others of her kind. She had travelled far from home, taking her leave of her pack. The goodbyes had been hardest, tougher even than her journey here. Just thinking of her pack mates sent a pang of loss through her heart. Saix needed to move on from there, if she was ever to enjoy her new life. Scared and utterly alone, she was hopelessly lost in an unknown world. An outcrop of stone caught her eye suddenly, drawing her closer. The den seemed vacant, the scents surrounding it as old as they were ever going to get before they faded from the place completely. Cautiously, the little wolf poked her head inside, followed quickly by the rest of her. Out of the wind, she had a better chance of staying warm. Perhaps here was a place she could relax in, even if it was just for the night. Feeling slightly more content. Saix sat down, raising a delicate paw to lick the ice from between her toes. Re: - Spirit of Wildwood - Dec 21, 2013 [dohtml] Look Out!A bear has left behind the remains of a deer. +5 Health [/dohtml]RE: see me off - Saix - Dec 21, 2013 The smell reached her first as she turned to face the mouth of the den. Tempting and delicious, how had she missed the deer's carcass? Her stomach growled and Saix made to dart outside, prepared to freeze once more if it meant a meal for her starving self. A flash of movement caught her narrowing eyes as she poked her head outside. Another dark she-wolf, too preoccupied with getting away from the storm to notice the younger female, was trudging by. Saix was unsure of what to do next. Had she unknowingly trespassed into another pack's territory? And the deer - had the other killed it? A nervous whine built its way up her throat, her ears twisting outwards, lending the black wolf a goofy look. The smell of food was so tempting, worth the risk she would need to take to get to it. Scurrying out of the den, Saix flashed across the snow in a flurry of flakes, ready to dive into the search for the carcass when something made her stop and glance back at the other. It was dangerous to turn her back to the stranger and, despite her hunger, the she-wolf would not eat unless she was sure that this was neutral territory. She yipped softly to the female, tail flicking softly behind her, swaying against the hocks of her hind legs. She would not be completely submissive but starting a fight was not the plan either. "Is it yours?" She asked, speaking of the deer and hoping against hope that the answer would be no. ooc - thank you! I hope this reply is alright for you <3 RE: see me off - Elettra - Dec 23, 2013 Works just fine for me. :D [dohtml]
