road to nowhere - Maverick - Apr 09, 2014 [dohtml] It felt like it was only yesterday when the lupus stumbled into this new world and found himself lost in a place he has never been before. In fact, it was only yesterday that the male canine finally felt like his long distance travel might be over and he has found a place to find a home. Since the age of two, Maverick had been on his own for almost three years now as a lone wolf. At the age of four, the four legged creature was ready to settle down or at least find a place to stay for a while. Although the sun was covered by thick grey clouds this morning, a cool gust of wind sent the fresh greened leaves in a graceful dance while creatures of all different sizes woke from their nightly slumber. A fairly large sized creature trotted across the orchard in a steady pace, long elegant strides made the canine appear to be almost floating rather than trotting. His muscular shoulder blades and hips rose and fell with each step the male wolf took. Ebony ears twitched when a little song bird chirped their spring morning delights in it, only to quickly hide in the trees before the scarred creature. A muffled soft chuckle rumbled in the lupus chest until the dark headed canine muzzle opened wide in an over overexerted still tired yawn. The dog could fell his stiff joints loosen from the make shift den he had to stay in overnight, the den being way too small for a creature his size. After his morning run to warm his cool blood and just a small hare to satisfy his stomach from now, the golden and ebony canine came to a light walk as he swayed through the fruit covered trees. A gust of wind whirled past the canine, his bi-colored nostrils flared instantly to take in the smell of spring and the scent of sweet berries that swirled in his nose. Mav paused in his tracks while his warm gaze glanced about the land, unsure of where he should head next. Should he travel with the day and follow the sun as it reach above him and fall on the horizon? Or should the lupus travel opposite from the suns natural line? Decisions… decisions… TAGS ♔ @K'arnae, open to others as well

RE: road to nowhere - Maverick - Apr 11, 2014 [dohtml] The athletic toned male felt his stiff muscles loosen with each gentle stride he took, paws grazed the forest floor as his dark citrine irises flickered over the unripe berry trees around him. The sounds of unsettled creatures and leaves that rustled all round him made the canine’s ears twitched. A low uneasy growl rumbled in his cheats as the scarred beast slowed his pace, a sense of him being follower overwhelmed him as his black ears fell back slightly and his stance took on a more dominate and intimidating posture. A huff came from the canine as his steps slowed into a stop and his ears flickered to each sound he could here. It was when the ebony headed canine heard something large rustle behind him that made the canine’s heart race, pound against his cheats as the lupus swiftly turned to face what was stalking him this morning. Blacken lips started to peel back and ears fell back as Mav ready himself for an unwelcome attack from his follower, probably one of the males from the previous pack he came across getting revenge for mingling with their females. But when his warm eyes fell on a lighter colored beauty that strolled carelessly behind him, Maverick’s expression quickly shifted into a small smile and his stance to on a more relax demeanor. The male gazed upon golden eyes of the she wolf as he approached her, this female being one of the few wolves he has seen sense he arrived here. “You gave me quite a start my dear,” Maverick chuckled lightly as the black headed lupus greeted the she wolf with a playful smirk, “I thought you were someone else coming to rip my head off.” The canine let the thought of some male wolf attempting to rip his head off, but it only made the lupus laugh to himself that another wolf could even get close to being so without feeling Maverick tare them apart. But the though quickly vanished as he introduced himself to the lone female wolf. “Hello my dear,” the battle wore male greeted with a friendly tone, “I am Maverick.” The canine let himself fall into a small bow to the lovely female, his head ducked down only for a moment before his gazed held hers once more. “Are you from around here dear?” the canine questioned as he stood proud before the lovely she wolf, “I am a little lost. Being new to the arena, it seems as if I am heading in circles. Well… if feels that way anyway. Would you mind helping little old me?” The large creature fell silent as he waited to see if the female was nice enough to help the poor lonely lost loner. TAGS ♔ @K'arnae, open to others as well

RE: road to nowhere - Maverick - Apr 18, 2014 [dohtml] The canine has met his fair share of characters through his three years of travels. But like always, there are those few who still surprise him to this day and will until the end. This she wolf was one of those characters he has yet to meet or has met, but only a select few. Maverick could sense something odd about this lighter wolf, yet something very familiar at the same time. It was not like it was weird per say, more like something the canine remembered but hardly used and surprised the female used it. The she wolf used her body language to talk instead of just… talking. That was, until Maverick made her talk. But even when her words came out, they were short and direct. This was something all wolves did automatically or naturally. Wolves and many creatures alike use their own body to show emotion and talk with another creature. But most wolves actually spoke to one another and used body language as a secondary emotion, to reinforce or to act on show. Although the canine was familiar with this kind of speech, having once met a wolf who was mute, it was when she spoke that it through him off a little and her words almost seemed harsh like he has insulted. But even has the cream colored wolf motioned to the direction she was mentioning, the male could not help but wonder what made her act this way. Was this how her pack communicated or was there something more? Either way, the ebony headed canine only gave the lovely female a soft grin and a polite nod. “It’s nice to meet you K’arnae,” the canine replied in a low friendly tone, “I am Maverick.” The wolf dipped his head in a respectable bow, paused for a brief moment, and rose to meet her gaze once more as he returned to his confident stance. Black head high, long legs stiff, and tail up high to slightly curled towards his back, once perched ears fell back slightly, and expression soft as he tried to seem like less of a threat to the she wolf in hope she would not be so harsh on him. “A pack you say,” the lupus repeated with a light chuckle at the thought of being a part of a pack once more, “Interesting. I have not been in a pack in a while. I might have to give them a visit to see if they know more about the area or maybe if they could mind letting me stay for a day or two.” The male canine felt the cool morning breeze brush passed him. The scent of premature fruit tickled his bi colored nose while Maverick turned too glanced in the direction as she. “This pack you speak of” the male questioned with a sense of curiosity, “Do you know them? Have you met any of them?” Maybe the she wolf belonged to this pack. It would explain her behavior a little more than just being odd, a loner male that looked to be a trouble maker close to pack borders was definitely cause an alarm. Mav turned his warm gaze back the female lupus, unsure of maybe he should just leave or continue to make small talk with the beauty. TAGS ♔ @K'arnae, open to others as well
