And maybe, maybe, maybe - Pacem - May 24, 2014 @Koda [dohtml] The puppy had found that his vision was still not the best but that it was improving. He had been careful to not stray too far but he found himself constantly seeking the light coming from the entrance of the den that he could recognize. The blurry figure that Pacem knew to be his mother was asleep in the den and therefore Pacem just kind of sat there at the entrance to watch and observe the surroundings. His curiosity wanted to push him to go further but he knew better at that time than to go without his mother's permission. There were dangers out there that had kept his curiosity at bay. The black-pelted pup was sitting on his back legs, his front legs spaced out in front of him. There was adventure and anticipation glued into his eyes. The boy didn't know much. He didn't really know any pack wolves besides his mother and Unitas and Pacem. It almost shocked him that they were in a pack and no wolf had come to visit them. Perhaps his mum didn't allow visitors. The boy had been really curious of the fact and wondered if they would be visited. They boy was eager and he slowly pushed his way outside the den but he stayed right by the entrance. His eyes were focused on a stick. He gave a small growl before he pounced at it but landed nearly a foot away. He picked it up in his mouth and set it down at his paws as he hit at it. He was extremely bored. RE: And maybe, maybe, maybe - Koda - May 27, 2014 [dohtml] Unlike the rest of the pack, Koda had not been too happy to hear of the new Hervok brood, in fact he had remained as far away from the pack as he could without jeopardizing his rank, not wanting to be around when the birthing eventually came to date. It had been two plus weeks since the birth of Nina and Hollow's pups and still yet, the silver male had kept his communication with Nina brief, he did not speak to her unless it was necessary. He treated their newest alpha similar but the respect he held for Miccah was minimal if non-existent, he did not believe that the male was an adequate replacement but he would take care of that soon enough. He just needed more time, and he was biding it as the puppies were nearly their third week and he had yet to make a visit, it just so happen that the path back to his own den intercepted that of the nursing den and he grew more curious of them the stronger their smell become. He wondered of their sex, size, and colors--did they resemble Hollow or their mother? So many thoughts swirled in his head and before he knew it he was nearing the mouth of the den, he cursed himself in his mind for being so curious and weak when his stubborn side clearly wanted nothing to do with the puppies of another male; ultimately curiosity won and he was a meter or so from the den mouth. He paused in his stride when the sound of feet hitting the ground made his ears perk, and without missing a beat his gaze fell on a small dark figure, the pup was developing at a rate that was common for his age and his dark pelt reminded him of Hollow, his eyes though remained their milky blue. He wondered if they would change to green like Nina's, or remain blue like their fathers', shaking these thoughts from his head he eased forward stopping a second time to sniff the air. His reality had officially turned upside down as he stared at the aftermath of Hollow and Nina's breeding, his breath was caught in his throat, emotions flaring, as he stood at his spot wondering if Nina would eventually emerge or if the puppy would grow curious enough to venture toward him. RE: And maybe, maybe, maybe - Pacem - Jun 09, 2014 Sorry this is short 3 [dohtml] The boy was hesitant as he checked the den entrance to make sure the blob-shaped mother would not wake or follow him. The curious pup thought he saw something off in the distance, a figure in the shadows, and he couldn't help but try to approach it. "Woooooo?" He called out in a questioning manner as he struggled with his words. His eyes were narrowed slightly as he stumbled towards the man, still getting used to his legs and the concept of walking, oddly enough. Pacem Hervok was not one to sit back and wonder but the one to run at life and take it by the horns. His denim blue eyes saw the blob and a small tail wag proceeded to occur as he grinned with his head tilt to the side in curiosity. "Woooooooo?" He asked the man again as if asking who the man was. It angered him that that was the only thing he could get out. He held that curious look to him as he looked back at the den briefly to make sure his mother had not awoken by his words. He drew a deep breathe before plopping his butt on the ground with his tail still wagging vigorously. He was a curious fellow with a strong backbone to back him up. RE: And maybe, maybe, maybe - Koda - Jun 26, 2014 @Pacem [dohtml] He could not understand the flood of emotions that ran through him. As he stared at the dark blob in front of him, so curious with life, he couldn't help wondering how he would accept these pups as family now that they finally held a permanent position in the pack. His respect for Nina was strong and unwavering, but her pups, no his pups he did not know how he could tolerate, he had no ill feelings toward them but their father he did not respect, no matter their history, therefore he remained at his spot. His nose was the only movement that occurred, it twitched with curiosity in order to decipher this male from the other two that Nina had birthed--from what he'd heard, there were others, and all boys. He prided Nina for birthing another healthy litter, they looked strong and fit, suitable for pack duties, and yet they resembled Hollow, a wolf who probably had more respect from other wolves then Koda. As he neared Pacem he heard the brave pups question, as slurred as it was, he could understand the curiosity that this youngster had in him and he paused once more, checking the den for any further movement. When no one exited, only Pacem remained, and he lowered his head so that they were on similar levels before he spoke, "Who am I?" he repeated the youngsters question with a cock of his head, before continuing, "Koda, and who are you?" Though he doubted that this youth could understand him, let alone knew his own name at this age, it was the first question that came to mind as he settled to his haunches in an attempt to seem as non-threatening as possible. For the moment, he wondered his his feelings toward the newest members of the WildWood held any true merit, or was it in fact jealousy? RE: And maybe, maybe, maybe - Pacem - Jun 28, 2014 [dohtml] The boy heard the voice from the man and his tail wagged vigorously. His denim blue eyes brightened to know someone was there and it wasn't just some figment of his imagination. His name was Koda. Koda asked Pacem who he was and it made the puppy curious. He tried to introduce himself with a "Pacem" but it didn't come out right. "Paaeeecchhhemm." He tried to say but the words slurred and a look of dismay on his face was evident. His nose wrinkled as he took a step back. "Dooohhhee yohhh know meh mum?" He asked another question as the overly curious pup decided to get all he could from the man when it came to information as to what exactly the place outside his mum's den was. The jet black furred puppy ran in a small circle for no apparent reason like the silly little boy he was before looking at the man again. "Whahet ish dish pwace?" He asked again with his eyes widened. There was a curious gaze to them as he stared at the blob. He breathed through his nose and out through his moth as he let his tail continue to wag. He was thinking about the place because it was so strange. Like what were the really tall things that seemed to surround them and the weird blobs that didn't move unless the wind bid them? It was quite obvious that he still had a lot of things to learn about the outside world. RE: And maybe, maybe, maybe - Koda - Jul 09, 2014 @Pacem [dohtml] There was always something to love about puppies, and despite Koda's estranged urge to be cold and detached from the dark cub that reminded him of Hollow, he could not help the smile that came to his mouth at Pacem's attempt to communicate. His square ears were pulled back on his skull as he tried to decipher the sentence that came from the excited pups mouth, the words had come out slurred, as though he were in a drunken state and his frustration had caused the male to advance forward in an urge to be helpful. There was little either of them could do but wait until his ability to form words grew as he aged, which was relatively fast once the pups reached their eighth week. "So you're Pacem," he stated, finally putting a face to a name he had heard from an excited wolf in passing, the birth of the Woodlands newest brood had been a hot topic, "of course I know you're mom, she's an important wolf to all of us, even us adults." Nina was their leader and made decisions for the whole of the pack, no doubt she was just as special to her puppies as she was to all of Secret Woods. No sooner did the words leave his mouth did the youngster begin to run in circles, hardly able to contain his excitement from the presence of another visitor and Koda settled to his haunches in an attempt to stop his head from spinning. He couldn't remember if his own children had been as energized as Pacem when they were cubs, in fact he hardly remembered them as youngsters and his ears tucked to his head at the realization of his memory loss. He had missed out on so much and now Hollow would be doing the same to the newest princes of the Woods, it saddened him to think of how they would turn out when they aged and learned of their father's disappearance, "This is Secret Woodlands, you're home. Maybe one day you will rule it, you're already proving to be quite the prince" the word burned his tongue as it slid from his jaws. Tacoma and Ashton had been the first princes of Secret Woods, and his daughter was their only princess and now three new youngsters had replaced them to take their titles, it was a reality he'd ignored all the way until now. "where are your brothers, Pacem?" he wondered with his head cocked, attempting to make conversation. RE: And maybe, maybe, maybe - Pacem - Aug 01, 2014 [dohtml] The word 'you're' was emphasized and the young boy shot him a confused glance. Had Pacem been the news of the pack or something? His confusion was answered shortly after when the man told him he, he Pacem, was a prince. Koda also mentioned that he (Koda) did in fact know his mom and she was very important to the entire pack. He stood a little taller with a small smile. The man asked where his brothers were and he frowned. "Dey are shleeping like lazy rumps!" He informed the strange man named Koda. "My mum is shleeping too." He added to the guardian in case the man actually had important business with his mother and that was why he was so close to the den. His mind would wander back to that comment. Where are your brothers, Pacem? Prince Pacem was in front of him so why did Koda care so much about where his brothers were? Was that jealous forming in his precious mind? Of course not, Unitas and Silentium were way too lazy to ever beat him in his conquests to get as far away from the den as possible. He loved adventuring, it was like another part of him, but every time he strayed a little too far he seemed to get caught by an adult. First it was Miccah and then Koda. Who would it be next and next time would they be as nice as the other who had been? Pacem, secretly, wasn't even supposed to be out. He was supposed to be sleeping. RE: And maybe, maybe, maybe - Koda - Aug 13, 2014 [dohtml] His ears perked when Pacem spoke, struggling to register the words he had said. It had been some time since his interaction with puppies, his own children were into their yearling years and well adapted to pack life, rules and regulations not to mention they held conversations that made sense. Shaking his head, and pushing away the thoughts that swirled in his head --thinking of Danica and Ashton caused guilt and anger-- he turned his attention back to the dark pup and produced a welcoming smile, after recalling the sentence over again in his head he realized what he'd tried to say. "Well then, maybe you should be off sleeping too. I can't have you wandering off alone, it's dangerous and you could get lost." he answered, knowing that Nina would rather that her boys were sleeping instead of wandering off to attempt an adventure. He knew that eventually every pup wandered off, it was apart of growing up and learning about your environment, he only hoped none of them wandered off too far to get injured, he would never wish harm on any pup, not even those of Hollows'. Thinking of Nina made his heart lurch, he cared for her feelings and didn't want any trouble knowing how protective mothers were over their new brood--his words were momentarily caught in his throat as he considered the fact that Nina probably had no idea that one of her males were outside the den. "if your mother is sleeping I'm sure she has no idea you are out wandering on your own. Perhaps, if your good and mind your mother's wishes, then I can take you on a special adventure. Even your brothers can come, then they won't be lazy rumps." he attempted a joke as his tail thumped light behind him, wondering if the middle brother would want that kind of adventure, or if he would even accept one from him. He waited with patience for the young male's response, a look of kindness stretched the length of his face. RE: And maybe, maybe, maybe - Pacem - Aug 19, 2014 [dohtml] He wrinkled his nose at the idea of going back in the den and trying to sleep. He had practically just woken up! Well, not really, but he felt like he was bursting with unused energy. "But I dunt wanna! I'm nawt tiwerd." He said defiantly as he added the effect of placing a paw on the ground with a bit of force. "Ma mum never letz me go ahniwhere." He said with a pang of sadness in his voice. He wanted to explore! He wanted to see the borders and everything in between. He wanted to see the world! Surely the world was bigger than just the den and immediate area outside! Then the idea hit him. This man was a guardian who knew the territory well... Then he said maybe he'd take Pacem and his brothers on an adventure and Pacem shook his head. "No! Sil can come but not Unhitas! He'sh too tricksy." He said stubbornly. "I'hm not tiwerd and if your wif me then I can't get in trwouble." He countered the man with a desperate look in his eye. There was no way Koda could keep him in the den... oh no! What if the guardian woke his mama up to tell her about his little plan? He couldn't let that happen and so a frown fell across his muzzle. He wasn't going to sleep. He'd go back in the den if he absolutely positively had to but he definitely would not sleep. He wasn't tired! RE: And maybe, maybe, maybe - Koda - Sep 04, 2014 We can fade soon if you want, I know this is a little dated... [dohtml] A smile crept the length of his mouth before it left, in an attempt not to give the youngster an impression that he were joking when he asked that Pacem return to the den. It tickled him knowing that the young male understood that his mother did not want him going anywhere, but it bothered him knowing that already one of the three males were getting restless. It just meant that they needed to be on guard in case any grew curious of the outside and wanted to venture off without permission, there was nothing worse then losing a loved one, especially a pup. Lowering his head until he were within Pacem's line of vision he stared into the eyes of his counterpart to ensure that he understood the message and spoke as clearly as he could. "You are absolutely correct young Pacem. Would you mind if I sat with you while you played outside? That way you won't have to go to sleep when you're not tired and we can talk more about your trickster brothers." and then a smile came forth as he could no longer resist the urge to assure Pacem that he knew where he was coming from. Although he wouldn't dare leave the pup unattended, he did not find it necessary to bug Nina while she and the others slept, he could watch one pup without the supervision of another. He had after all been a father and helped to watch after three pups of his own. "So, what do you like to do for fun Pacem? If you're not a trickster like Unitas, then which brother are you?" and he lowered on his stomach to get comfortable as he waited for the other to speak. He assumed this meeting would take much longer than he originally thought, but he certainly had time. |
