It came as a complete surprise to Nova that her sister actually wanted to help her. Maybe Nova was foolish, and perhaps this was really all a joke on her sister's part. None-the-less, it was a chance Nova was willing to take. Before Nova could even thank Aponi, or even think of anything to ask, she was gone. Nova stood for a while, just repeating the directions Aponi had given her until she was sure they were burned in her memory. How humiliating it would be if Nova got lost a second time.

Nova hadn't even told anyone that she was going on this little "trip", and now it would be even more important that she get back and tell them that she would be leaving... permanently. Even though she doubted how much her mother really cared about her disappearance, she still wanted to be able to say goodbye.
