the wrong turn - Bayliss - Jul 23, 2014

    • She'd traveled quite a considerable distance, Bayliss had. In the North, she had abandoned the cause that had pulled her from her home to begin with. Somewhere in the middle of this foreign land, she found a new one to pursue. Through the rumors of fellow travelers, she learned information about the local packs that was fuzzy at best. One tale in particular caught her attention, of a pack shielded within the willows lead by a fierce matriarch by the name of @Elettra . Though unsure of anything else about the pack, Bayliss was intrigued enough to seek out the homestead. After all, what else had she to do?

This quest brought her farther and farther south. She passed the markings of a pack, but they resided within a cedar wood forest and she knew they could not be the wolves she was looking for. The land turned to marsh, and all traces of her kind disappeared, but once she skirted around the bog the breeze once more greeted her with the scent of mingled strangers. As her paws crossed into a beautiful and expansive prairie land, she sensed that she was close to her goal. However, she was forced to pause and consider the signals the wind brought her. There were two packs in the area, one fainter than the other. Her teal eyes did not spy a single willow tree, but in the interest of methodical seeking she chose to approach the nearest pack first. If they were not who she thought they should be, they could perhaps at least point her in the right direction. That was, if the packs were not rivals.

Hoping for the best, Bayliss delved further into the field. On the way she hunted and brought with her a hare. She was highly receptive to the many signs left behind by her kin, wanting to be sure not to overstep her boundaries. A few times, she let out soft barks, seeking attention without demanding it. Hopefully, they hosted active patrol and she would be received in a short amount of time.
