Salvation

I've been rooting for Voldemort, Vader, and The Joker

She'd been tracking the scent for what felt like days. It had been less than a day of course, coming across a late stage of the trail by accident, and she knew that she would have to call for the rest of them soon. Part of her worried that she would not be able to pull off gathering the pack for a hunt but she knew she had to calm the everlasting fear. Nevertheless her search led her forward as she crept silently through the trees, careful to avoid loud noises with the forest floor. When she was sure of her target's location, just in the clearing in the river, she would retreat and raise a call for the pack to join her in the mighty hunt against the beasts. The stag would fall.

She would hope for the others to arrive, for food was one thing that many would not pass up, and that she would be allowed to somehow prove to the entire pack she belonged. She felt distant, terribly so, that she had been keeping away from the others wolves. Perhaps it was just the shyness of meeting new wolves that had gotten to her. She had especially avoided the pups because she knew that the others would be weary to let a complete stranger, packmate or not, around the youngest of the pack. Oi, I hope I can pull this off. She would silently prey as she awaited the others to arrive. A small panic gripped her mind though it did not change her patient lookout. She could do this.

Without them there is no story

RE: Allons-y - Serach - Aug 06, 2014

Going to assume she made the call, if she hadn't yet, just say. I wasn't entirely sure. =)

[dohtml]

The youth was on his back, all four paws dangling in the air useless as he shook his body back and forth against the grass and dirt. He shook from side to side, grinning in sweet relief as the itch that plagued him was put to rest. It had been a lazy day for the boy, so when he heard the girl's voice, Serach couldn't help but chuff in annoyance. But his itch had been vanquished and his duty was to his family and to his young cousins, so despite his grumbles, he rolled to his side and then to his stomach. Pushing himself up onto his his feet, he spared a moment to stretch and shake the loose dirt from his fur before trotting off.

At least the hunt did not require them to go beyond their borders. Despite the clearly signs of the wolf pack that lived there, herds routinely crossed over the pack's borders. Gliding through the wood like a ghost, Serach couldn't blame them - their forest had grown in green and leafy. Their prey had come for food and in turn would become food themselves. Provided the rest of the pack also answered the girl's call. Coming to stop, it was not lost on Serach that he was the first to answer Arcania's call. He dipped his head in greeting and turned his lips upwards in a toothless smile, but remained quiet while they waited for others to arrive.

RE: Allons-y - Vectra - Aug 07, 2014

[dohtml]

Young Vectra came quickly to the call, she was not that close, but she was decently nearby. Yearling seemed to prance excitedly onto the scene, she honestly could not wait to hunt with the other wolves, as it would be her first true 'pack' hunt. This made her so happy, now she could do things with others, running into the area disturbing the dirt and wagging her tail, as would be expected of a yearling such as her. Though surprisingly she managed to keep the noise to a minimum.

Once the lass had settled herself, the snow strewn about her legs, chest and face, she asked in a innocent soft voice. "What are we hunting?" her curiosity winning over all. She looked at the two current occupants that were already there, eager to hunt. But of course that could quickly change, she was after all trying to be outgoing, when usually she wasn't. so this was a stretch for her. If her answer was left with only silence she would quickly lower her head and dip her tail low, no longer as eager as before

RE: Allons-y - Spieden - Aug 07, 2014

[dohtml]

As soon as Spieden heard the howl, she knew she had to be there. The song held the promising note of a hunt, so very close within the borders that she wouldn't have to go far to find the beckoning wolf. The voice wasn't one she was familiar with, but who else could it be but a pack mate? She was steadily becoming more acquainted with the layout of the area, deftly moving her hefty body over the woodlands that stood in her way.

A river burbled nearby, and as she lifted her snout to taste the air she discovered the scent of an ungulate. Spieden ducked low and slowed her pawsteps, keeping herself downwind as much as she could as she sought out the wolfish odor that would lead her to her packmates instead. Pushing through verdant foliage, she eventually made it to what was currently a rather small gathering of wolves. Spieden crouched low, fiery eyes flicking over the other three. She shuffled into place at the edge of the circle before unceremoniously dropping her big rump to the ground.

With her ears folded she continued to anxiously glance at the others when she thought they weren't looking. With three yearlings, she dearly hoped that she wouldn't be the only adult here, and wished that the others would arrive soon.

RE: Allons-y - Triell - Aug 08, 2014

I'll be the bright, and black, that's making you run

Their numbers had grown, a bit of a surprise to the dark cloaked wolf. As for awhile he had not had to deal with the beckoning howls of loners on his doorstep wishing to join. Now they had quite a few new faces, and it was a good sort of surprise, hopefully the latest would manage to become a fixture of the pack and not of fleeting grimaces of unimportant memories. Who knew? Long as they lived here there was for certain tasks these new ones were to manage like food. If they would suffer another miserable winter Triell wanted to take every advantage to fight against it. He was hanging around with Darrah and Zera, chatting about the colors of the sky, a bit before the set of twilight when he heard the yearling's call. A herd was in their mist and it was too perfect to pass up.

"Hey, you hear that?" He asked. His head was raised, cocked to the side with black ears wide on the top of his head as Arcania's voice called out. "Sounds like dinner." His yellow-orange eyes drifted to Nayeli, temporarily gauging her own reaction. Sure enough there was a spark of mischief when he looked back down upon their children. "And guess what, you two get to come this time." With his dark tail beating he had on a great smile, as if he might be a puppy himself. Then the leader turned to his lady. "You wish to lead the way?" He would follow behind to make sure nothing distracted Zera and Darrah, it would take them a little longer to reach the gathering.

RE: Allons-y - Darrah - Aug 14, 2014

[dohtml]

Darrah was having a blast talking to his father and sister on what seemed to be just another normal day.. Until a strange howl was heard in the distance. Now the howl itself wasn't exactly the strangest part, he was almost used to that by now. It's what his dad said following the noise that was out of the ordinary.

"And guess what, you two get to come this time."
These words echoed through his head. Was his father really serious? Darrah began to lightly tremble in excitement. "You mean it daadd?" he took a few bounces towards the mischievous black wolf. "We get ta watch?" the pup found himself yelping in glee. Darrah couldn't remember the last time he got this worked up about something, though he couldn't remember much yet in the first place.

Hunting was something that always caught Darrah's attention. He'd heard some pretty amazing stories from the other wolves of his pack, and of course sometimes he'd even get to eat the proof. The young one knew that one day he too would be off catching such extravagant dinners, but he thought it would be somewhere in the far unseen future.. yet here he was now, about to watch a hunt take place. That alone had to mean soon he would be doing it himself right? He sure hoped so. As the shadowy ball of fur snapped back into reality, he bounced himself over to his mother. "Cummon mummah! Let's go!!" He pleaded.

RE: Allons-y - Ruiko - Aug 14, 2014

[doHTML]

Ruiko, like the others, abided the call. The large beast spent his days on auto pilot after Aeylen had left, and even duties he had partaken in daily within the past had subsided. This stagnant life could not continue forever though, and so the tawny wolf weaved through the trees, his golden eyes fixated upon those that had gathered already.

There were so many unfamiliar faces now – his eyes swept over each, a young girl who looked as if she had made the call herself as well as two darker females he had never laid eyes to. Serach was familiar within the gathered, as well as Triell, and with a gruff growl to announce his presence, the Tainn made his way toward them, his shoulder brushing against the pale fur of his nephew momentarily before his eyes finally upon the unknown hunter.

One ear flickered to the sound of a tiny voice, pulling his attention for a moment. One of Triell’s brood stood beside the great ebony wolf, and Ruiko’s hardened features softened, if only for a moment. The boy looked much like his mother – a beautiful wolf that the Tainn trusted would keep his brother’s heart well. He had yet to truly meet the cubs this season, if only because he had become so reclusive. The she-cub and her mother were there as well – a united and perfect family. Once upon a time, he too had that opportunity. Now, it seemed to have dwindled and flickered away to nothing.

RE: Allons-y - Hotei - Aug 14, 2014

[dohtml]
Hotei Tainn

The call caught him mid border patrol and he huffed in annoyance. He wasn't in the mood for social interaction, not like he ever was, but since this was a call to gather everyone that was available for a hunt, he guessed he could make an exception. Most of the time he could always be found near the borders though no one seeked him out, and he liked it that way. The only one he really liked talking to was his mate, Jessie. He held no tolerance for the others, especially not the newcomers. Obviously there were some exceptions like his blood family and Drestig. Though he didnt go out of his way to interact with them either, come to think of it. Leaving his border patrol, he made his way toward the source of the howl and in time, reached the gathering. Hoping he wasn't late, the burnt male's yellow gaze ran over the familiar and unfamiliar faces alike. With a quiet 'woof', he made his presence known to those gathered and continued to gaze at those around him. Five adults and three yearlings. Not a bad group to take down a meal. Good. He was ready for a hunt. It had always excited him, the adrenaline rush. Briefly wondering if anyone else would show up, his tail flicked idly as he waited for whoever would take charge so they could begin and take down a meal that would end up satisfying them all.

RE: Allons-y - Drestig - Aug 14, 2014

[dohtml]

He'd laid low since coming back from his little excursion, taking care to not make extra notice of himself as he went about his day, tending to his duties, patrolling the pack borders, but careful to stay within the lands. As the days passed without incident though, he started to relax, if Triell was gonna reprimand him, he would probably have done so by now; and yet there was a nagging guild lingering at the back of his mind. This was why, when the call sounded through the forest, he was hesitant to respond. For a second his whole body tensed, heart rate increasing wildly, until his brain had time to realize that the call had not come from his leaders, and not for him specifically; Food!

Another wolf of The Bend called for help to take down a stag; a young voice, feminine... It had a vague familiarity though, he remembered meeting the girl on the day he returned from his little trip - the thought made his flattening hackles bristle once again - but that encounter had not in itself been unpleasant, and regardless, he was not about to fail his pack by staying away. So he made his way towards the origin of the call, his hesitance added upon the fact that he had been near the opposite edge of the lands making him late to arrive.

When he did, he found most of the pack gathered already, a couple of unfamiliar faces mixed in with the wolves he knew well. Fiery orbs slid over the bodies, noting the features of the new members - yet another yearling was among them, apparently The Bend was very attractive to the young, not that he would complain about that - so that he could recognize them in the future. The friendly Avalon would have smiled at the females, had his gaze not fallen upon Ruiko, standing next to Serach at the groups edge. The second was a scarce sight around the lands, rarely engaging with any of the other pack members, and seeing him here quite surprised the dark man; So this is my surperior... Drestig's muscles tensed slightly. He had hunted with the older male before, when he had shown to be an capable hunter, and a good support against the wolves of Magnolia Glen, but that lay far back in winter, and since then he had barely seen the man.

Shaking himself out of these thoughts, Drestig let his eyes move on to Serach, at which point a smile finally broke out on his dark face. Positioning himself next to the yearling, he offered the boy a small nod in greeting and murmured: "Looks like today, you'll get a deer." In reference to the last time they had hunted together, back in spring. Then he turned his attention to Triell, smile growing when he noticed the pups by his side; This hunt is gonna be great!

RE: Allons-y - Zera - Aug 16, 2014

[dohtml]

zera tainn

Zera's heart hummed with the thrill of the day. There was so much excitement brewing in the rich sky, mirroring upon the growing grace in her lively steps. Today seemed unlike others to the growing Tainn. Something about the way Triell's eyes sparkled deeply when he stepped up from their afternoon view of the world. She could breathe a moment like that a hundred times over. Zera mimicked him and rose to his side, like a midday shadow and made way to that distant echo. Her body thrummed with energetic cadence, tail swishing with every step. She exhibited raw desiderium, it was with her from birth.

Zera began to smell the mouthwatering musk of nearby deer, and her hopes soon skyrocketed as the possibility came closer and closer. Is it the day, she asked herself, preparing for the best and possibly the worst. The girl struggled to contain her question and an impatiently excited whine escaped her throat. She could imagine the feel of hide tearing between capable jaws, the blissful warmth of blood on her tongue - there was so much power coiled inside. Zera felt the hunt coming as she neared the small clearing by the creekside. She saw her pack mates gathering from the hills, too. The yellowing eyes slipped to Darrah, who seemed slightly perplexed by the inclination. But Zera knew what her father would say, she could feel the sound of his voice in her ears.

"You two get to come this time."

And as soon as he said it, the young woman evolved into an ecstatic live wire! Zera's tail could have killed something at the rate of which it was wagging, and her eyes filled with the most honorable sense of joy. "Yes!" She exclaimed to Darrah, about to bounce out of her very pelt. "I can smell them out there," she started, glancing in the direction of the indescribable scent. "I'm going to get them all."
