assuming the role - Bayliss - Aug 15, 2014 [dohtml] While she had yet to meet her new matriarch, @Elettra , the reason for her choice in a second home, Bayliss was considered a member of the Willow Ridge pack. It was odd, thinking she belonged to any of these wolves. She tried not to consider it, though Bayliss recognized it was something she must come to terms with quickly if she wanted to be a cohesive member within this foreign unit. It was her first pack outside of the one she was born to and grew up in. The rest of her time, those months upon months, had been spent in transit and she had never been rooted in one spot for long. Remaining in one place, calling it home, being permanent, being still... A part of her doubted she had it in her. However, all of her was determined to try. She took up browsing the borders of the pack, occasionally slipping deeper into the territory to become acquainted with her new home, but mostly sticking to the outskirts, where she felt most comfortable and useful. She remembered the wolf @Angier had instructed her to watch for, a boy by the name of @Skoll , but thus far she hadn't encountered a single soul, much less a person of interest. It was nearing dusk, the sun taking up a vibrant and joyous pink as it continued its descent further and further, willing to be swallowed by the horizon. She would roam the line between her strange home and the familiar nonpartisan open until the moon was solely dominate in the sky, and then she would peruse the selection of herbs the meadow offered. She had resigned this to be another lonely day, and she began to consider perhaps putting off the mission of collecting healing articles and instead heading toward the communal den in order to acquaint herself with her pack mates. It was as this thought crossed through her head, however, that her teal eyes set sight upon company. Of sorts, anyhow; it was no wolf within her line of vision, but rather a trio of foxes tugging at the corpse of a hare. A sound of violence crept up Bayliss' throat, and her pace picked up. A fox was nothing for a wolf to chase away, but a wily band of them could pull one over a pack mate, and could certainly contest a kill. But what had the woman in arms was remembering that her new home proudly housed a recently birthed batch of whelps, who if found in the properly unfortunate situation could be harmed if not killed by the red bandits. She snapped her jaws open and shut, issuing a harsh bark before breaking into a charge. The foxes' autumn-suited fur bristled and they bared their teeth, seeming to consider battle for a moment before scattering a moment before her jowls neared them. The corpse tumbled in her wake, and dust followed all four of them. She chased them in a herding manner, well into the meadow before allowing them to slip away and returning back to the imaginary line she had been following around Willow Ridge. It crossed her mind as she loped that she had been sighting an unusual amount of foxes around the meadow lately, and made a note within her mind to mention this to one of her superiors. Perhaps it would make for a good opportunity to introduce herself to Elettra, though she remembered Angier's warning. Surely he had spoken to her by now? Bayliss sighed. All welcome. There are an unusual number of foxes being sighted around Relic Lore. Partly Cloudy — 68° F/20° C — Sunset, 7:26 PM RE: assuming the role - Elettra - Aug 19, 2014 [dohtml] It had been exactly three days since her son had returned to her along the side of her one and only daughter, Morganna. Since then, Elettra's attention for the most part had been dedicated fully and wholly to her three youngest sons, @Deacon, @Greer and @Castiel. While she was well aware that Lunas, @Adelaide and her eldest son, Asriel, had slipped away from Willow Ridge, she had little opportunity to pay it any mind whilst she was insuring that Deacon knew a hard lesson about straying away from the pack's territory. Lunas had shown much potential for being a well Scout amongst them, yet had not stayed for long... Asriel was grown and fully capable of fending for himself, likely exploring the lands of the Lore. Perhaps they both still sought out Deacon and had been held up, this she could only assume for having not given word or checked up on their pack. Adelaide, however, was more disturbing for her. After all, the woman had been fully dedicated to caring for the pups of the pack until she had up and left. Without their pupsitter and without the pleasures of being born in a world with 'Auntie Skana', Elettra did best to teach them her own. They were already nearing three and a half months old and they had grown so much, far too quickly. They were no longer the balls of fur, struggling to stand at the mouth of the pack den as they once had been. They moved, the saw, they comprehended... their eyes were now changing from their puppy blue to their true color, which the mother was excited to see. At this point they were gaining weight rapidly and Elettra's teaching of pack tradition, law, common sense in being in a pack and of course, basic herbal treatments, was beginning to stick with them. |
