Jellybeans and all things sweet - Rayne - Aug 26, 2014 @Silver It had been some time since Rayne had seen anyone of the new pack, least of all Silver, for how busy he had been trying to prove himself as a good guardian for the pack and the fact there had been an unusual amount of foxes roaming around. There was a surety that they were being drawn by the abundance of food that had come back to Relic Lore, even braving the caches that had been so carefully restocked. So of course, they had to be watched carefully. He felt guilty of course, for not spending that much time with the one he adored so much but that is why he was fixing that problem right now. His howl tampered out to silence as he called for the black beauty, hoping she could come and meet him as his feet shuffled and the rabbit was nudged with his nose as he waited nervously. There was a desperate need for an apology and a hope that Silver had grown tired of waiting for him. He had no idea what would happen if she merely wanted to go back to being just friends, nothing more. It would break the large rusty male’s heart for sure but he would respect whatever the other chose. But the thought Silver wouldn’t come, or if she did, she would tell him she no longer held the same emotions that brought them to this pack stuck with him and clung heavily to his heart. "No," he quietly told himself, trying to calm his rapidly beating heart. "Nothing is wrong. You just have to explain yourself. She’ll understand, certainly..." She had to, Silver was understanding and fair. She’d understand he had simply been doing his duty to the pack. So Rayne continued to wait, sitting under the warm sun in the meadow that was abundant with flowers and grasses that seemed to whisper in the wind and the rabbit that would be a gift to his beloved at his feet. RE: Jellybeans and all things sweet - Silver - Aug 26, 2014 She had been lacking Rayne in her life but she thought nothing of it. The dark woman had been busying herself with other tasks. Of course Rayne would always flow into her mind but she would nudge it out every now and then. She thought of it as funny. The two were in the same pack but they seemingly never saw each other. Certainly they must have ran different schedules. "Speak of the devil..." It was merely a silent thought to herself. She had been thinking of him one moment and the next he was calling out to her. She didn't rush right away to his call. Instead she did a brisk jog to his location. The flowers and grass brushing against her as she moved through it to find the large male sitting there waiting under the sun. Flicking her tail a bit she nodded softly. "Rayne," She brought herself to a stand when she was a solid three feet away from him. "It's good to see you. How have you been?" Although it was rather formal for her to be greeting him like this she figured it might be the best way for her to greet him. Start off slow, calm, and collective. Then when and if things got out of hand she would be able to have a better grasp on things. Perhaps a better understanding on where the two stood as a pair. Especially with their lack of communications things were bound to be rocking between the two. Everything good can't last forever. Or that's what she had convinced herself. RE: Jellybeans and all things sweet - Rayne - Aug 26, 2014 It was a few more minutes of waiting but Rayne’s ears perked up when he heard pawsteps heading his way. When he turned towards the direction they were coming from, she was there and he couldn’t stop the movement of his tail. It wagged in greeting to her and a small fond smile found it’s way onto his face. Yet it seemed to falter a little when she sounded so formal in her own greeting, being replaced by a frown instead. Was Silver angry or simply just trying to establish where they currently were, at this stage of life after not being in contact after so long? ”I-I have been fine, though I have been m-missing you.” He murmured softly, silently cursing himself for allowing his stutter to come back a little. He had been doing so well before, the stutter not having come back in a few months. ”I um, I just wanted to...” Why couldn’t he talk to her now? He had gone over what he wanted to say, again and again as he waited for her but now she was here, staring at him with her bright eyes and her coat nice and shiny on good food and under the sun, he couldn’t find the words to speak. Taking a deep breath-why was he so nervous? there was no reason he should be so nervous. But he had to find out where they stood, in the rocky relationship they had started and if he couldn’t even look at her as he stared down at his feet, what was he going to do? ”I just w-wanted to, to,” he tried to push out, his brain running in overdrive as words and thoughts turned over rapidly. Why was this so hard? It reminded him a little of their first meeting, in the snow storm in the roots of the tree.”W-wanted to apologize for n-not offering you company lately and to s-say I haven’t been avoiding you, and I-I still want us, if you still want it and that if you d-don’t, I understand because we h-haven’t seen each other in a few weeks.” Now he had started, everything seemed to be flooding out. He suddenly rememdered the rabbit at his feet and he hurriedly picked it, offering it to her. Laying it closer to her, he shuffled back. ”T-that’s for you,” He told her shyly, still looking at his paws. ”T-thought you might be hungry....” RE: Jellybeans and all things sweet - Silver - Sep 14, 2014 It was hard to stay mad at the male. In fact, it was impossible for her to stay mad at @Rayne at all. Sighing lightly her solid face cracked a smile softly. "Of course I still want us Rayne. There is no me without you. No me without us." Walking up to him she buried her face into his shoulder. Ignoring the rabbit he had offered she just sat there breathing in his scent. "You know what, that stutter is kind of cute Rayne. It reminds me of the first time we met." She wondered if he remembered it as well as she did. Two strangers who were both caught in a snow storm. Her sour attitude (then apology), his kindness, and their bodies sharing warmth. It was a time of pure happiness in her life. She wished every day could be like that but she knew it couldn't. Life got in the way of things sometimes. And it just so seemed life got in the way of them, but all the needed was to repair what was broken. Glue the pieces that were left back together. One by one. Looking up into his fiery orange eyes. They seemingly held as much beauty as the her golden orbs crossed his orange orbs. Only if this moment could last forever. "I'm not hungry but thank you. Perhaps put it in the pack caches for someone else to find and enjoy? An act of kindness you would surely do." Wagging her tail softly she nudged him hoping he would go along with her words. |
