Family is a Link to the Past and Bridge to the Future - Andromache - Oct 25, 2014 Quote: @Athena Let's see how these girls work through their daddy issues;) Roma ambled along the shore of the lake, her new home. She had to admit that she loved this lake and how it made her feel: calm, serene, at peace. But those were just feelings evoked by this particular place; they were not reality. In reality, Roma felt only slightly better than she had before meeting her sister. Now she had found a way to atone for her mistakes, a way to redeem herself. Her loyalty to her sister certainly filled part of the void her father's betrayal had left behind. Without anger and vengeance driving her forward, Roma felt directionless. Protecting and aiding Athena could only take up so much of her time. What was she supposed to do with the rest of the hours in the day? And what about those at night? A hint of a smile graced Roma's muzzle as she thought of how she had spent some of her nights in the past. It had been a long time since she had been with a male. She had to admit she would welcome the company of a charming man. She thought about seeking out Vesper, but something told her that he was more interested in Athena. This didn't hurt Roma's feelings of course; she was looking for a challenge not a mate. Roma sighed as she picked up Athena's scent not far off. A charming man was not on the menu tonight. She needed to speak with her sister. After her meeting with Naia, Roma had a few questions for her would-be alpha. Roma would stay by Athena's side no matter what she had done because that was the vow she had made. Still, Roma wanted to know exactly what kind of woman she was serving. As a subordinate she might not have a right to ask, but as a sister Roma felt like she deserved some kind of insight into the life of her sister. She wanted to know about this family Athena had spoken of. If Roma had nieces and nephews she wanted to know about them. She also wanted to hear about Athena's involvement with the surrounding packs. Why were some of them so hostile towards her? Most of all, Roma wanted to hear about Athena's relationship with their father. Athena seemed strong and capable. Why would he treat the two of them any differently? Rolling back onto her haunches, Roma awaited her sisters arrival. RE: Family is a Link to the Past and Bridge to the Future - Athena - Nov 05, 2014 Going to have this take place after the discovery thread and meeting with Vesper(:
[dohtml] Making her way back towards the way she came, so she could make her way back to the Caverns, the smile upon her face was evident. She was one step closer to accomplishing her goal, establishing her pack on top of the ruins of her old one. Her pack would be successful, she could just feel it. With her loyal followers, Silver, Vesper, and Roma, she believed that they could survive the winter and create the legacy that they all want. The fact that all of them wanted this and were willing to fight for the dream, made it more surreal. It wasn’t just her dream anymore. Others wanted to help her achieve this dream of hers and they made it their own as well. As she made her way along the pebbly side of the lake, she caught the scent of her sister within the air and with a wag of her tail she made her way towards her. Her fiery eye caught sight of Roma as she herself ambled along the lakeside. The thought that Athena had family within the Lore made her ecstatic. She had Rory here, but none of her family from outside of the lore. As she came up upon her sister, her smile widened to a toothy grin and her tail wagged high above her back. “Sister, lovely to see you here today,” she said breathlessly as her eye gleamed. As she had left before Roma was born, she wasn’t sure if she was her only sister or how many other siblings she had. Athena knew that she had at least two brothers and now Roma, but perhaps today she can find out if she had any full blood siblings in her family. RE: Family is a Link to the Past and Bridge to the Future - Andromache - Nov 05, 2014 Roma looked up at the sound of someone approaching. Seeing her sister approach, eye gleaming with excitement, Roma couldn't help but smile. She was uneasy to have this conversation, for sure, but she knew for certain that she was happy to have a sister. She believed Athena to be strong, independent, and determined and these were all qualities that Roma would greatly respect; but in truth she barely knew her sister at all. It was time for that to change. "Yes, it's lovely to see you as well." Roma smiled and dipped her head respectfully. "I was actually hoping you had time to talk today. I think its about time we learned a little bit more about each other." Roma's icy blue eyes landed on Athena's single amber eye. She wanted her sister to understand, to see, the seriousness with which she was approaching this discussion. There were things that needed to be discussed that might be tense: Roma needed to know what Athena had done to evoke such hostility from Naia. Some of the things they needed to talk about were happy, like family for instance. But even this was tainted for the Moon sisters, filled with brokenness and betrayal in many places. The only truly happy news that Roma had to offer Athena was that of her meeting with Oliver and the possibility of an alliance with the pack east of the mountain. But, Roma thought hopefully, if we can talk about all of this and begin to understand each other then maybe there is still a chance for our family to get past the horrible stain that Zeus has left on us all. Roma's heart and thoughts did indeed feel lighter and happier at the thought of a new generation of Moon children, being raised under the watchful eyes of Athena and Roma, together. There was nothing that would make Roma happier than to be apart of the lives of Athena's children and perhaps, even to have her sister apart of her own children's lives one day in the distant future. RE: Family is a Link to the Past and Bridge to the Future - Athena - Nov 10, 2014 [dohtml] Her sister seemed happy to see her with a wag of her tail and a smile to match her own. It was taking Athena a little while to get used to having a sister here with her. She never thought she’d have any family from her past here in the Lore, but now she has her sister that she never knew that she had. There was no doubting that Roma was her actual sibling. Athena had known her mother was pregnant again before her father had tried to murder her, but she didn’t think they would have survived with her mother dead. She thought Zeus would have killed them off as well, but perhaps the man had a little compassion in him. Roma’s voice brought her back to real life as she mentioned learning more about one another. Athena was usually aloof with everyone that she meets until she learns to trust them and warms up to them. However, this was her sister and her sister had the right to know some things about her and vice versa. Plus Athena had told Roma that if there was anything that she wanted to know, that Athena would certainly tell her. And Athena wasn’t going to go back on her word now. “Ask away my dear sister. You have the right to know some things about me as I do you.” She said, her amber eye looking over to her sister, a smile forming on her ebony lips. It was time for Athena to open up and tell her story to someone that deserved to know it. If her sister wanted to follow under her, she needed to know these things. However, just because someone was her followed, didn’t mean Athena was just going to throw her story out to everyone. This was different. This was her long lost sister that had a right to know about her sister. RE: Family is a Link to the Past and Bridge to the Future - Andromache - Nov 10, 2014 Roma gave a light smile, happy that her sister was so eager to have this discussion. Roma had been over this a thousand times in her head, but with the moment of truth now before her she couldn't help but let her heart lead instead of her brain. In truth, she had prepared to discuss Naia and Cut Rock River first, but what she really wanted to know was about her family. "Well, I guess the first question I have is about something you mentioned on our first meeting. You have children? How many? What are their names?" The questions spilled out before Roma could snap her jaw shut. Then, Roma remembered that Athena had implied that her relationship with her children was something that brought her sadness. Taking on a lighter tone, the large she wolf lowered her head respectfully, but did not avert her eyes, as she asked "Why arent they here with you?" Looking into Athena's milky eye and scarred muzzle, Roma was in awe over what this woman must have been through. Had her children been with there when she received these scars? Roma hoped not, no child deserved to see their parent torn apart, no matter what. Even she had to admit that part of her was hurting at the loss of her father, and he was a horrible, evil man. Thinking of Naia's reactions to the mention of Athena's name, Roma briefly wondered if Athena had been anything like their father. Is that why she had these scars and why people hated her? Is that why her children weren't with her? No, Roma thought, she deserves a chance to share her story. Roma worked hard to still her wandering thoughts and be open to what Athena had to say. Athena hated Zeus so there was no way she could be anything like him. There had to be a reasonable explanation for why her kids weren't with her now, why she had so many scars, and why she seemed to have such a bad reputation. Athena was her sister and she would stand by her and hear her out. If this woman had been through all of this and none of it had been her fault, if all of this was truly Zeus' fault, then Athena deserved to have Roma stand by her now and Roma owed it to her. |
