Mordacai had left early in the morning for a stroll around his territory. Back home at Calarosa he knew the territory almost as well as he knew his own name, but these lands were new. Now he needed to familiarize himself with the land so that he could better fulfill his role and serve his pack. Though he had not met Elettra in person yet, he had met his other alpha, Angier. Cai was both relieved and pleased to find that he had been accepted into a pack with such a good leader. Angier was far better at leading than Arion had been, Cai knew that for sure. However, as with Arion, Cai already felt a need to prove himself to Angier. He wanted to earn respect and trust and for that he needed to work hard.

The first step was getting to know the land; the next was getting to know his pack mates. Now that his inspection of this side of the territory was coming to an end he wanted to catch something to bring back to camp. Hopefully he could offer to share with someone and perhaps make a friend. The ground that Cai had found upon leaving the shade of the drooping willows was uneven and bumpy, turning into a rapid succession of short hills. Cai was confident that many a small rabbit might have made a burrow in the shelter of one of these hills and he was optimistic that he could find a good meal. Stopping to scent the air, Cai was surprised to find that rabbit was not the only scent permeating the air. There was another wolf nearby: a pack mate.

Titan was collecting the last bits of arnica and goldenrod that he could for the enormous stash of herbs back in Willow Ridge's main den. He, Xetor, Skoll, and Morganna had collected many herbs on their trips and because of this Willow Ridge would likely have no problems with their herbs being depleted should something happen over winter. He had a nice sized pile to bring back to the den, however the scent of another had captured the curious young Thorben's attention.

It was a masculine smell cloaked by the scent of willow ridge wolves. Mostly the smells upon the males distinctive scent were from Elettra, Angier, and Enoki. So Titan knew that the man was a pack mate, but he had yet to meet this male. So since his work was pretty much done, the dark lad decided to take a break and head over to the stranger to introduce himself. His pile of goldenrod wrapped around arnica was left to sit while Titan scooted his way through the dried grasses towards the strangers smell.

Soon the dark wolf spotted the other male. His tail wagged slowly through the air as Titan took on a slightly submissive pose. The tail stayed subserviently low while Titan's proud posture remained neutral. He didn't usually fully submit unless asked or forced to.

"Good morning sir." Titan greeted the wolf as he approached so that the male knew that he was coming. The young male always made sure that he didn't sneak up on other wolves on accident. "I just noticed your smell and thought that I should come over and meet you." He stopped a respectable distance away and looked towards the landscape. Though occasionally he would steal a glance at the male to size him up. "My name is Titan Thorben, what's yours if I may ask?" The greeting was a friendly one though Titan wasn't entirely relaxed. He didn't trust the male yet even if he was pack, and Titan didn't expect the male to trust him either.
