articulate silences - Nova - Nov 11, 2014 @Triell Others PM me first if you'd like to join
[dohtml] The morning sun peeped in through the entrance of the small den her and @Camio had spent the night in. The light shone into her face, with her cheek nuzzled up against Camio's shoulder, waking her up. It was a bit cramped in the den due to it being hastily excavated, and more than ever Nova longed for the warm, spacious castle that had been Hollowheart Keep. She almost wished that she had never left. Even though the pack was gone, what more had she gained by coming over here? Her sister surely hated her guts now, if she didn't already. Nova had exhausted her options and still had nowhere to go, and Camio was looking worse for wear from all the travel. Nova felt terrible for dragging him into this, and suspected that he was much hungrier than he claimed to be. Wolves had to depend on each other through the winter, but Nova wasn't sure just the two of them could do it. Nova threw her paw over her face, trying to block the sun and get a few more minutes sleep, and a few more minutes respite from all the worries that plagued her. But her throat tickled with thirst and begged to be attended to. Nova nudged Camio with her snout, and once she got a half-awake grunt out of him she informed him that she was just going to get a drink at the creek and that she wouldn't be getting lost this time. Nova squeezed out of the tight quarters and followed the sound of the nearby creek. Reaching its pebbly shore, she dipped her head down for a drink. RE: articulate silences - Triell - Dec 13, 2014 Triell had drifted from his pups sleeping forms, taking a seat among the stones outside. There the father kept a silent watch, staring at the sky turning from black, to dark blue, and a hazy gray. Tired, he still did not think sleep would find him. Instead he murmured to Zera and Darrah he was going out on patrol, letting them know they did not need to follow him today. They should go practice hunting, search for game. RE: articulate silences - Nova - Dec 15, 2014 [dohtml] After taking her drink, Nova stopped for a while to watch the water swirl before her paws. It was always so rejuvenating to watch the rest of the world float by, the chattering of birds beginning to stir in the early morning and the soft sounds of the trickling water. Even with how hectic things had been lately, it was a small shred of peace. Just at the edge of her hearing she heard pawsteps, at first thinking it was Camio but quickly realizing it was from the wrong direction for it to he him. She stood, peering through the trees until she could see the black wolf headed towards her. He was just about her size, if not a little heavier. She wasn't afraid of him, but did wonder what brought him here. Before she could think to say hello or anything else, he stopped and spoke. "Who isn't here anymore?" Nova asked in response, confusion evident in the crinkle of her wide brow and the sideways tilt of her head. She had no idea that her mother had come this way, and so the dark male's statement made no sense to her. She figured he had confused Nova for someone else. As she watched the man, something about him seemed slightly familiar but in a way she couldn't place. A memory of the scent of rain drifted through her head, but the snippet of memory provided no answers. "Mister, do I know you?" She asked. RE: articulate silences - Triell - Dec 28, 2014 Evident she had not known her mother had come this way, or maybe even cared ears flinched to the sound of his head. It probably would have been better to just mutter a never mind, wrong face, and turn around, let her be. The Tainn went to do just that the yearling asked another question. |
