The sky was a dark indingo, stars scattered in dissaray while gray clouds lazily floated by. The moon was a waxing crescent, hanging brightly above. The forest was not silent, only nearly quiet with the winged beats of sky hunters seeking their midnight snacks. And in the air was a chill, an awakening breath of the cool temperatures clinging to March. Much as she was tired, she had only managed an hour of restless sleep. The battle to try to fall back into dreamland was given up. White, lithe form crept round her sleeping companions and to the open. Inhaling wisps of night air helped give her a good dose of reality. She was safe, and perfectly fine. She only needed a moment to erase her short nightmare. Though she'd been assured Ozera was possibly healing safe and sound, her mind continued the frantic search in her dreams. They were never pleasant to say the least. She would come upon the broken remains, and be swallowed by evil gazes. She'd sink into a black abyss, only ending when her eyes widely flewopen. Heart held a rampant pace, "Just a dream," she whispered trying to sooth herself. Wrapping her banner tight round her alabaster form, each express of carbon dioxide was smokey flame. Eyes studied the swirling patterns, following them upward to the hemisphere.

The forest seemed alive and enchanting in the obsidian night. Her night vision was clear, and the moon supplied beautiful argent glow-it was far prettier, better than daylight. It would not suprise her to see something unoridnary, like a unicorn trot forth from a nearby shrub to nibble at the delicate grass. Or sparkling fairies whimsically darting round the cedar trees. Smiling dimly, she shifted her weight, tucking front appendages in the thickness of her chest. The den was much warmer, and her body had not fully adjusted to the cold change. If only to settle her mind, and return to the den. But she was much too wide awake, and sat lost in her own thoughts. Her nightmare was not the only thing stealing her sleep. Sides started aching yesterday, and their was a new aroma clinging to her.

O O C | puppies! :D

Lost among the trees, the masked male wandered back to the den. The last leg of his daily patrol around the territory was finally coming to an end and the thought of finding Jayse and Vlar waiting for his return made him smile. The scent of the trees and not-so-distant sound of the stream rejuvenated his senses, willing him to move forward one step at a time. The radiant moon’s presence made long shadows stretch from the bases of the trees, giving the forest an almost heavenly glow wherever the moonbeams managed reflect off the snow. It amused him how blizzards would occupy the area for what seemed like an eternity and then suddenly stop, allowing Relic Lore to recreate itself into a sight that had yet to be seen.

Once the den had come into view, he had a feeling something was… off. His eyes narrowed and he approached the knoll cautiously, fighting to keep a growl in the confines of his throat. If it hadn’t been for the wisp of breath that escaped her mouth, Borden probably wouldn’t have seen Jayse there in the snow. “Jaysyek,” he breathed, stepping close to her to affectionately caress his muzzle along the base of her ear. “Wha--” The scent in the air about her was thick and it was easily separated from the potpourri of the trees and fallen pine needles. It made his heart race as his instincts surfaced for a brief moment, stirring within him something he had never fully felt before. “What… are you doing up, l-love?”

Verifying she was unharmed – sifting through the scents to ensure blood wasn’t picked up among them and quickly sweeping his eyes about the area to make sure nothing else was not as he had left them earlier that morning – he tilted his head thoughtfully. Sit, his psyche advised; he didn’t even realize he was slightly trembling. The alpha male settled at her side, not taking his eyes of her.

Everything alright?” he whispered.

Ears set tall upon her cran flowing in tune with the night songs. She was

waiting diligently for her love to return, and did not want to miss a possible

trace. Worry levels low, she did best keeping them that way. Telling herself

in silent thoughts he was bound to be trotting back any time. Any time at

all. This was their life, and Borden had to do rounds to keep it secure.

Knowing he was out there checking on things managed to steady the beat

of her heart. Bones, core of her ached to see him, and a low whine filtered

behind her sealed lips. She made an uneased shuffle against the white crest

of snow, but like a guard did not deter much furth fromer her set position.

The glint of a pair of orbs wavered in the distance, and she saw a shadow

gliding toward her. The shadow was strikenly carved with dark tones, taunt

muscle, and framed with washed out plains along curvture of cheek

bonessnout , and chest. Sight narrowed at the handsome phantom, trying

to discord it's value of real or imagniation. It became apparent to her it was

really him. Had she been holding her breath? But she'd merely had it stolen,

and white banner waved in wild abandenment. He was safe, sound, and

hers.

Making self wait, he closed the gap. Her triangle points flittered at his

hushed tones, catching the drift he'd thought her to be sleeping. Curving

softly into him, she thoroughly inhaled his familiar colonge. "Couldn't

sleep,"
She murmed into the thickness of his coat, brushing cheek

along his shoulder. The small stumble in his words were noticed, and she

paused in motion- leery what effect she might be having on him now. It

was beyond her control, and the urge to be near him was impossible to

ignore. Head angled against him, and she closed her eyes taking it in.

Against her cheek bone she felt the tiny quiverings, and lids swept open.

Leaning body away, eyes traced the contours of his face. "I'm fine, are

you?"
Quietly she whispered, looking deep into gold pale pools. Body

returned against his, and she brushed muzzle from shoulder to chin in

swift motion. "Do you feel.....up for a stroll?" she asked with a

quizical brow, and half-grin.

Keeping quite still as not to stir up any more of this strange but alluring perfume, he listened as she quietly replied. He inhaled a short breath of air, holding it for quite a while before sending it swirling into the air from slightly cracking open his jaws. That made both of them then… The “Sand Wolf” had seemingly failed to visit and offer a good night’s rest. She stated that she was fine and he simply nodded in response when she asked him the same.

Inching her snout along his frame in one brisk move, he shivered. His eyes closed briefly as he collected himself, opening them once again when Jayse asked if he felt like taking a walk. Her partial grin was the first thing he noticed before he glanced back into her moonlit eyes. “S-sure,” he sounded. “Let’s…”

Slowly getting back onto all four paws he waited for her to move. A soft smile and a gentle wave of his tail gestured that he was ready for her to lead the way. One brief glance toward the pack den assured him that their pack still quietly slumbered. He probably wouldn’t need to worry about the two of them being followed.

Stepping forward, the alpha male cast his gaze about the surrounding forest. Whatever it was that was making him act this way was making him anxious; all of a sudden he couldn’t even bear to think of anything or anyone coming close to Jayse… If something or someone happened to, he felt absolutely compelled to ward them off. An uneven growl rolled from his chest and along his shoulder blades his dark fur bristled, a wordless indication of his apprehension. He tried to swallow the lump forming in his throat, remaining silent for a moment before returning his attention back to his mate, “Where are we going exactly?”

His single quiet response, was a small reassurance. She supposed

neither of them had been in this situation, and she was lost what to

expect. Especially what more havoc it would reek upon them. Her own

heart felt like fluttery chaos in her chest, more then it'd ever been

round him. And this longing ache residing inside, it was entierly

foreign grounds. Small tingles caressed down her spine feeling his

shiverings. Move, she really needed to move get wind of this new

impressioning emotion. With his agreement she stood, and vigorously

shook her pelt clear of snow flakes. And like him she gave a look over

her shoulder to the den, hoping the inhabitants were deep asleep. A

swallow to ease her mind, stride took her confidently foward. She

didn't have an specific inclination where to go. She only felt

compelled to go far from here.

Rough growl brought ears upward, and she slid to his side. Rubbing

along it in one fluid action, giving a wet kiss to his cheek to sooth

him. Fast as she was by him she skirted away. Rapidly skipping ahead,

tail twirled behind her. Then pausing with a front limb, lifted she

said,"Away." Clearly holding a bewitching smile, and a

mystical spark to her gaze. Haunches playfully swayed side to side,

and banner was held higher now behind her. Like a nyph she turned

heal bounding, and dissapeared further letting the shadows envelope

her.

Borden had played this game before. She was confident he would

catch her with an uncanny speed this time. Half the fun was in the

chase, and she tore through the woods, darting every which way.

"I hope your skills aren't lacking Mr. Lyall," She called after

an assured length from the hollow. All the while hoping to encourage

him onward, because she wanted to be caught.

A found energy drove the distance into a secluded part of the wood

realm. Eyes franticly searched all the while for thorough covering. The

snow was not in her favor, only the darkness. This time she still

wanted to have the element of surpise on her side. Though this new

prefume was more stagnant and would pinpoint him on her exact

trail-she could try couldn't she. Thoughts thrown out the window,

elegant form danced along the last remaining snow banks, and she

spotted a decent sized drift. Perfect.Panting in rapid

movements, she swallowed silencing the loud giveaway. And then

very mindfully she circled round the large pine and bank. It may

temporary cause him to stop and wonder. But she needed to hide, and

flattening her from she wiggled under the green needles, nestling

herself in the pine branches atop the triangle, shaped snow.

Every move she made had him aching; when she rose up to shake out her coat, his chest tightened and his muscles tensed. At the sound of his snarl, she drew close and reassured him with the lap of her tongue. It seemed to do the trick, but her skipping away made his tail curl over his back in determination. He dragged his paws through the freshly fallen snow, striding after her only to find that she was quick to dart away. Her childishness was not something he wanted to tolerate just about now… not when this dire need to be close to her plagued every fiber of his being...

Yearning to close the space between them, he heard her call out from somewhere in the distance. She wanted to play? Alright then… He prowled forward with his nose to the ground, listening for her all the while. The tone in her voice, while teasing and stated in a mood for fun, was torture. His inner instincts growled and barked for him to find her; the leader within demanded that he made sure he would secure her place as his mate.

Each step was carefully calculated, each distance carefully measured... Borden Lyall was not going to let her get away and he would not waste energy in trying to find her. By the time he pinpointed where she had taken refuge, he set his eyes curiously upon a bank of snow, only bounding towards it once he noticed her footsteps leading around it. His nose frantically brushed over her trail of prints, walking around the bank twice before he fully realized that the odd-shaped figure underneath a cover of pine needles was Jayse. He carefully walked around the snow bank and pressed his nose against the prickly form. “Do I get a prize?” he asked coolly, smirking down at her.

The torture he faced would be short lived, he just didn't know it yet.

After all she had to give a little chase. What worth would it be if she

was easy to catch? If one struggled for a gain it made it worthwhile. If

it was handed to you, how could you really be grateful-satisfied with

what you'd recieved? Yes, she would play a litte hard to get, but not to

much. Ears folded against her depths of her skull, her hot body

relaxed against the cold snow-cone shield. Her pursuer was

significantly close, and no doubt eager to seek her out. Biting back an

array of laughs, eyelashes delicately blinked across her eyes watching

the hunter track so close to his searchings. Come on

Bord,
she thought. Heart beat furiously against it's cage with

great anticipation. He had to realize she was right there. It seemed to

dawn on him, and an impish smile carefully shaped onyx lips. White

banner twitched liked a felines, meeting him face to face.
"Hmm a prize? I suppose if you win,"she replied just as

coolly.

Haunches lifted and she scooted a littler closer. She

stole a single kiss. But brows narrowed, and a playful growl vibrated

in the white throat. In swift action she leaned into him, trying to

tackle him against the bank with front limbs intertwined with his.

When her form pressed against chest, they slid down to the level part

of the snow. Her atop pinning him against the edge of the bank, chest

was atop his, but her haunches were kept standing off him. He could

easily get away if he wished. While he was there she playfully nibbled

at base of his ears. Then she lavished his cheeks with further kisses.

Quietly, pulling her face, so her nose wasn't even an inch

from his, eyes stared deep into his, an open-mouth smile of her bliss. "I love

you,"
she stated, pressing her maw to the base of his ear. Breathing quietly, his own rapid beat was felt beneath her. Instincts told her to skip away, but his warmth was the greater temptation she could not resist.

O O C | Was perfect timing really. x)

Taking in her suave answer, his tail rose and proudly waved. She then proceeded to move close to him, taking from his lips one kiss before growling lightly. His own low growl purred back in response when she leaned into his hefty frame. That one move was enough to send them tumbling down the bank and, while it had caught him by surprise, he merely gave another smirk. She had landed on top of him…

In light of where and how they had settled, she took the initiative of pinning him, planting tokens of affection about his ears and cheeks. He remained still; the breath caught in his chest forcing his heart to slow. His jaws parted to speak as she drew close to him, so close that any slight move, a deep intake of breath or a hastily uttered word, might’ve made their muzzles touch. “I love you,” she murmured. Wisps of fleeting moisture flit from his mouth and into the frigid air, overwhelmed by her proximity, her whispers that funneled directly into his ear.

Eyes closing for a moment, he felt her own heartbeat pulse against him through her ribcage. He willed himself to gaze up at her, to take in her beauty that was emphasized by the moonbeams on her back. In beholding her, allowing her to indulge in whatever blandishment she had to bestow upon him, he found himself lost in her eyes, her touch… everything that embodied the essence of her in this moment. But he wouldn’t let her win. Borden Lyall wasn’t going to be caught this easily if she had proven to be tricky to ensnare... She had initiated this state of flirtatious play and he was going to follow through with it. Adeptly managing to untangle himself from her after brushing his muzzle against hers, he scrambled to a space not even five feet from her and arched down into a playful bow. The black-tipped plume that had stopped all movement when she had tackled him began to wildly thrash at the air. Show me then, his posture seemed to dare. He then, let out a light bark, straightening just enough to start backing away towards the territory borders.

Unknowing what to expect, she waited for the struggle of her prisoner

beneath her but she held against him. A triumpant grin brushed the

edge of her lips, feeling her capture most liked being caught. She

fondly looked upon him, for it was long overdue to memorize his

features over again. And it was a beautiful silent moment, no troubled

thoughts, just the contours of him against her why his pleasant

features were exclusively her eyes to hold. Warm breaths brushed

against her, like waves of pleasant chills against her skin, and she

soley wanted him then. Wonderful the moment was, after a single

stroke against her muzzle he stole away from her. Playfully lingering

paces away, now he ws being the playful tease in this taunting tango.

Strong passion lapped round in chest like violent flames in need. A

whine coaxed from her throat, batting her unmatched eyes at him.

Upon his silent dare, jaw tightened and her eyes set with a determined

gaze. She had not expected to be on the other end of the stick, but

she was more than willing to prove herself. Hips swayed in frantic

rhythem with white banner while she pranced toward him. He was

ready though, and was steering away. A poutful woof erupted, and

ears yielded against her head. Yet she eagerly pranced closer, a plea in

those depths of gold and saphire. A single grin planted upon her obsidian lips.

Being sly, she took time to shorten the distance. Close in her reach,

playfully pawed at his black shoulder blade another rooing whine

gliding from her hidden voicebox. Muzzle teased closer, dipping down

as she lingered drawer near to him. Counting to one, she reached for

him brushing maw forcefully, and still softly against his ruff. Firmly

she sat upon the ground infront of him staring into his intelligent

eyes. Literaly staring him down showing she was willing to be his with no plans to depart. And tenderly she licked his charcoal nose, and long his strong,

creamy jawline, brandishing another pathetic whine.

Reaching out a paw, she batted at his shoulder. Wow, she was quick… A bark lifted into the air as Borden found himself planted firmly to the ground after she had successfully swiped at him. Her pout and whines made his broad frame straighten and when she sat down before him; a thrilled growl sounded from his maw. His eyes, pale in the moonlight, meticulously studied her – the way she had settled, the ease in which she brushed up against him, the intensity in her gaze… She wanted something, and while he was all too willing to give her whatever she pleased, he felt the need to test her a bit, to assess her patience.

Observant quirks were brushed aside, however, when she lapped at his nose and jowls. She whined and he took a few steps to her side, walking around her as his body, from his nose to his tail, curled in a wide arc around her form. His thoughts spun wildly about his head; he nuzzled his head into her neck then tilted his muzzle to lick at the corner of her lips. The soaring of an owl overhead brought him to abruptly withdraw from her and alertly track its course through the trees. His jaws snapped in an intimidating manner and he snarled roughly. The action caught him by surprise; he had never felt this tense before.

Starting to calm down again, he glanced to his mate. Though his tail wagged and waved like black-tipped flag, his ragged breathing confirmed his uneasiness. Their little antics had brought his mind off of everything that was running through his system but it had done little to relieve the pressure that was building along his spine, this… feeling of yearning that had him acting purely upon impulse.

Eager and growing slightly impatient by second he completed his circle around her and turned so he could face her again. He wanted to speak, to plead and beg but no matter how many times his lips parted nothing but puffs of moisture would meet the air. Perhaps he should have thought twice about his next move of making her wait, it seemed to him that the only one he had made anxious was him. The muscles underneath his thick pelt quivered with anticipation, his body burning as it had never done before. Just as she had done only moments before, he released a rather beseeching whimper – absolute surrender.
