Haunted - Ace - Dec 06, 2014 Just for youuuuuuuu @Silver <3333 :D
[dohtml] Winter was upon them now. Its misty tendrils of darkness were creeping up on the land of Relic Lore, and the wolves within, cocooning it in its embrace, leaving no way to escape. Soon the snow would fall; the final piece in the jig saw puzzle, and then the real battle for survival would begin once more. They had barely made it through the previous year, what if it would be the same? Another hardship like that would be devastating, wolves would die, families be broken apart, loved ones separated. But that was the cruelness of winter that happened every year. No one could escape it, and no one ever would be able to. That was just a fact of life, and one they had to live with. The day was misty and cold, but not miserable. At least, not for Ace. He loved the nice parts of winter: the snowfalls, icy lakes and rivers, and sometimes during his younger years he had thought he had clairaudience after seeing strange shapes in the mist. But as he grew older he grew out of those childish fantasies, mostly. Every now and then he would go back to pretending he could see things and hear sounds that were said to only exist beyond the reach of ordinary experience, if only to get away from the hardships of life. It was only when the Silver Male caught sight of a huge lake far below the edge of the cliff, glimmering and shimmering in the misty light of the weak, winter afternoon sun that he paused his travels. He had been looking around for prey, other wolves, things like that, maybe even a pack nearby, kind of like a scouting mission. The lake, however, was something of interest to him, as there wasn't any large rivers on the mountain close by. Glancing around, Ace teetered on the edge of the cliff to look down at the lake, marveling in its beauty.
[/dohtml] RE: Haunted - Silver - Dec 11, 2014 [dohtml] She had been out and about exploring. Making sure not to go too far. Although she had traveled these mountains in many previous smaller trips she had never done a full exploration. But now she lived here. These mountains were her home. The dark aging woman would have to learn how to travel these mountains. Maybe @Athena could give her some navigation advice. Today just so happen to be a nice winter day. The weak afternoon sun trying to break way, the wind not to cold to break through her thickening winter coat. She was sure that she would be just fine while traveling this afternoon. Worse case scenario she would have to turn and return back home to the Fallen Tree Cover den. Perhaps she would make herself more known to and with the members in the pack. She had really only come to have conversations with Vesper and Athena. Her two truly favorite members of the pack. Of course they were also her two alphas. Respectable wolves truly. Taking in the scent something familiar yet rather strange all at once. Prowling forward the sight of a rather large male caught her eyes. He seemed so vaguely familiar. Flicking her tail to raise slightly she wondered what he was doing. He seemed to be peering into the ground. Was something there? Had she missed something while walking about these grounds? Or perhaps he was just lost? Barking out lightly to him she held her tail to alert him that she wasn't going to take to being pushed around but she wasn't going to attack. "Sir, can I help you?" RE: Haunted - Ace - Dec 11, 2014 [dohtml] Ace lifted his muzzle into the air, closing his silver eyes, letting the calmness and serenity of being high up on the mountain and so close to the sky, feeling the wind gently brush through his thickening fur, and slowly letting everything bad slip away. The Silver Male didn't have many chances to forget about the bad things that had happened in his past, though he supposed it had been happenstance that everything fell into the jig saw puzzle of life the way it did, or he wouldn't be the wolf he was today, or even standing where he was at that moment. His peace was interrupted when a female voice asked if he was alright, one that was familiar, but upon inhaling deeply the aroma that she brought, her scent was unknown to him. Mostly. "I am fine, ma'am, thank you for asking though," he said softly, gazing far into the distance at the land below where rivers intersected and trees grew sporadically in forests, leaving wide open spaces in other areas. It was beautiful, and he was glad he could see it now. Backing up a few steps from the edge, Ace slowly turned his head around to look at the female, and when his eyes met hers his posture stiffened, eyes widening. The female that he had loved so long ago with all his heart was standing before him, like a stranger. He could see the scar that ran underneath her right eye, remembering when she didn't want him to see, thinking that he wouldn't love her because of it. He could also see the faded marks of claws on her muzzle from that fated bobcat, as well as new scars, such as the teeth marks on the bridge of her muzzle. She looked so different than he remembered, but exactly the same. Instead of feeling happiness and love coursing through his veins at the sight of her, all he felt was anger, hurt, betrayal. "YOU LEFT ME!" He shouted at her, teeth bared and ears flattening against his skull. "YOU LEFT ME WHEN I NEEDED YOU MOST!" Ace took a step forward, silver eyes flashing with hostile emotions, but they didn't stick around for long. Within moments his anger faded, and all that was left was nothing, coldness. He felt nothing at all. "You left me..." He whispered softly, closing his eyes and turning his head away so he didn't have to look at her.
[/dohtml] RE: Haunted - Silver - Dec 11, 2014 [dohtml] "I am fine, ma'am, thank you for asking though," "Well then I'll just be on my way," Harsh tones, harsh words, they came snapping and flowing so quickly. She had no time to react before his voice loud and snapping came through to her ears. Backing up so startled her tail shot straight down. Her cowering form crumbled downwards, ears pinned back in fear and tail tucked up against her stomach. A whine came shivering through her jaws as his voice didn't quite down and when it did she feared for the worst. Was it over? Was this male - no. This wasn't any male. With a stolen glance her heart jumped when she noticed it was @Ace, how could he be here? Were the gods playing some twisted game? Whatever it was made her whine even more. Stumbling over the uneven ground to back up and away from him. So much hatred. She had never seen him like this... "You left me..." Sorry. The words couldn't break way for her to speak. The dark woman was still so shocked and taken back that she couldn't find her voice. Her eyes looking down to the ground. As much as she wanted to leave she couldn't. Something inside of her was acting like an anchor and keeping her settled right on her low place on the ground. Why was this so hard? She had been through these situations before, so why was this one so hard? What made it so different from the rest? Was she not fit to face her past? From the way it looked, the past had a crazy way of snapping it's ugly teeth at her heels. RE: Haunted - Ace - Dec 11, 2014 @Silver I'm so sorry ;~;
[dohtml] The dark female that he had once loved so much backed away from him, stumbling over the uneven ground in her haste to get away from him. Her form crumpled, ears pinning back, tail tucking underneath her as she cowered, a whine slipping through her jaws. Ace felt no satisfaction at the sight of her curled up in a ball, eyes looking down at the ground, body screaming out confusion and fear, but he felt no remorse either. She deserved to feel the pain as he had for so long, to feel what it was like to lose something, be afraid of it happening again, fearing it to come back and haunt you. His past had been hard on him, he had hidden it well, though, but after everything he had felt and seen, it was more than enough to break a man down to the very core that he tried to hard to cover up. He was a monster inside, but it hadn't reared its head in a long time. All it took was one woman, the woman he had loved so much, to bring it out again after so long. "Why have you come back to haunt me?" He said softly in a dangerous tone, exhaling deeply and ever so slowly turning his head to look into her eyes, his own devoid of any compassion; there was only coldness left behind now. The monster he feared had returned. "What have I done to deserve so much... hate and pain I feel," he said in that same soft voice, not exactly talking to her, but just saying his musing out loud. "Were you really something good in my life... or were you just another object sent to cause me more misery in my life?" His cold gaze found Silver's once more. "TELL ME!" He suddenly roared, taking another single step closer to her cowering form.
[/dohtml] RE: Haunted - Silver - Jan 08, 2015 [dohtml] Had the dark female been able to stand and run, she would've. But his form was so dangerous yet so inviting she couldn't run. She didn't want to. His words fuming and snarled yet his voice was still inciting. Was this how he felt whenever she had lashed out at him? So this was what it was like when the tables were turned... "I-" She paused her voice threatening to crackle with sadness. "I wanted to keep everything good. I wanted to keep loving but you were gone and I was trying to hold the weight of the crashing world. Everything came down so hard upon my back." Her voice was stopped by her lungs gasping for a breath of the cold air. "I swore my bones could have broke under the pressure.." Everything was so much harder on her end. Did he understand her anymore? Did he understand that a part of her did still love him? Or was that part of them long gone? Once her lungs had enough she continued on. "I wanted to stay and find you and love you until death do us part...I didn't want this to happen." Her eyes watered and before she could stop them the liquid from her eyes came spilling out. Her breathing was heavy yet paused where it would sound like she was gasping for her last breath. The dark form of her body rattled. Chest rising heavily before hesitantly falling back down and repeating this a few times. She was the true witch. The one that caused everything to go so horribly wrong. The dark woman had come to terms that she was a true walking curse. RE: Haunted - Ace - Jan 08, 2015 I'm crying @Silver ;~;
[dohtml] "They all care so much" Ace felt like he couldn't breathe, like his throat was closing in on itself in an attempt to stop the inflow of emotion and words it wanted so desperately to release, but just couldn't. He took deep, gasping breaths, but it didn't help in the slightest. It felt like he was drowning in the air, like the oxygen that he was breathing in was poison... the very poison that he needed to survive. He had no cogitation, everything had fallen apart, cracked into millions of shards, unable to be put back together again. He had no idea if his heart would ever be able to be fixed. "Don't get involved" He took in a breath, feeling a red hot ache behind his eyes, knowing that if he didn't keep himself in check he would cry, and then everything would come out. All of it. Every. Last. Drop. Of everything he was hiding. Her words were like a dagger to his heart, painfully and swiftly killing him from the inside out, leaving nothing but a bare shell inside... who knew what was left inside. "Caring is not an advantage" His silver eyes silently stared almost unblinkingly at the dark woman before him, taking a single breath before he slowly and carefully shut off everything like a switch. There was no going back, there was nothing to go back to, not anymore. He had known that for a long time, but hadn't admitted it to himself until now. When he was sure he had himself under control, Ace let out an even breath, no signs of shaking at all. The monster was well hidden once more, but for how long, he had no idea. "All hearts get broken" "I told myself - promised myself - I would love you until death do us part... and I completed that promise until the very end. I thought you had died somewhere, somehow, out there, or you would have come back for me, waited just one more day for me. I taught myself to forget everything, told myself it was all over, there was nothing left. And I was right." "All lives are lost" He took a single step backwards, almost like he was leaning backwards to try and get away from the woman standing before him, but he just couldn't leave. There was so much he wanted to say, and so little time. "There is nothing left for me here." His words were spoken in a final tone, like he had already made up his mind and nothing would change it. For all he thought and cared she could very well be a ghost, a figment of his past. He had come full circle. "It's the circle of life" [/dohtml] |
