Feel the wind - Luz - Dec 07, 2014

OOC: She's been accepted and isn't trespassing her loner status just needs to be changed yet.

The pale girl was excited and a grin was on her face. Here she was in a pack! Having been a loner with her parents all her life it was an interesting change. Her nose twitched as a faint breeze brought scents from outside the territory to her nose. She was patrolling the border. What better way to learn the area than patrol it? Her pale form glided across the snow. As of yet she still had to meet someone other than Minka and Firefly but she wasn't concerned. She would meet them all given time and patience. She felt like a burden had been lifted from her shoulders and after the initial joining she had felt more relaxed than she had in ages.

The clear sky was helping her mood to and the snow glittered around her as if sharing her happiness. Breathe coming out in puffs of steam she paused to look to south where she knew the cherry trees were. Maybe she would go visit later but for now she was just going to follow the territories edge. Maybe she would meet someone who was also on patrol. The thought had Luz's tail wagging behind her. Continuing on she kept testing the wind. If she found something to hunt it wouldn't be a bad thing. The caches always needed more in them. Plus it would be a good way to contribute and show that she wasn't useless and that she could actually do something. Yet what wolf couldn't hunt? Sure some were better than others but almost everyone could get fresh food if they could find it and kill it.

Shrugging her thoughts away she sped up to a sprint and she let her love of running fill her. Today she would try to meet someone new.

It was a sudden decision, a whim, one could say, that spurred the Diminutive Ivory She-wolf to go on a border patrol. There wasn't a certain reason for it, more just to do something other than sit around. Sitting around doing nothing was boring, and she hated to be bored... it was so boring. Feeling free in the openness of her home, Vera ran at a dead sprint, letting all of her worries and duties slip away the further from the den site she got, until eventually she reached the border and stopped just from crossing it. Heart rate racing, she barked happily leaning back up on her hind legs just for the hell of it before leaping forward and running as fast as she could along the border.

Before long Vera slowed down to a slow trot, sides heaving from her sprint as he looked around at the glittering snow, a shine in her caramel brown eyes. Now that her urge to run had dissipated, she began to do a proper border patrol which, incidentally, was interrupted a few minutes later by a crème female running her way, just as she had done so before. The scent of Black Thorn Downs wafted from the female's coat, so the Diminutive Ivory She-wolf didn't act like she would do a lone wolf at the border. "Hello?" She called out to the crème female, stopping in her tracks and giving the other a chance to slow down so they could have a proper conversation. It was time for Vera to try and make a friend.

RE: Feel the wind - Luz - Dec 09, 2014

OOC: Thanks for joining. :)

Oh how she loved to run. The wind in her fur and with it being winter she loved it even more. The snow brightened everything up and made even the darkest nights a little brighter as it reflected the light of the moon and stars. She knew that she might be the only one to love this season but she didn't care. The first time she had seen snow she had been scared but then she had to admit that it was very pretty. The landscapes changed so much with everything covered in a white pristine blanket, and icicles hanging like chandeliers from the tree limbs.

Luz had been enjoying her little run so much that she almost didn't notice the other wolf. That is until she spoke and called the pale girl's attention to her. Slowing to a standstill with her tail wagging behind her in open happiness she responded back a with smile on her face. Hello. She caught the scent of pack from the smaller wolf and her tail wagged a little faster. So this was one of her pack mates. Eager to know to learn more about those within the her new family she introduced herself. My name is Luz. What's your name? Such a simple question that helped everyone have their own separate identity. It would help begin this conversation.

She hoped that this she-wolf and her would get along and become friends. If a pack mate had issues with another it could cause trouble later on and Luz didn't want that to happen.

No problem! :D

Vera watched curiously – and warily – as the crème female slowed to a standstill, tail wagging behind her in a very friendly manner as she smiled and introduced herself. In return, the Diminutive Ivory She-wolf wagged her own tail in an attempt to look friendlier instead of the usual stone cold bitch she could be. She managed to give the other female a smile in return, hopefully she wouldn’t noticed it was forced. Meeting new wolves was hard for her, as she just didn’t get along with anyone but Florence. However, she would try her hardest to make at least one friend in Black Thorn Downs, for him, so he would see that she was fine and happy in their new home.

“Hello,” she said shyly. It was her natural defence against other wolves when she stopped herself from resorting to snarky remarks and poison-tipped words. “That’s an unusual name, Luz, but it fits you.” Compliments weren’t exactly her thing, but it was the least she could do at trying to make a friend. “I’m Vera,” she finally said, giving up her own identity. Staring curiously at the crème female (the Diminutive Ivory She-wolf had to look up a bit – obviously, practically every wolf was larger than her), she hastily tried to think of something to say, a conversation started. “Uh, have you been in Black Thorn Downs for very long?” There, that was innocent and friendly enough, wasn’t it? Maybe she should say something else though. “I’ve been here for about a month now, but I haven’t met many wolves as of yet. I’m trying to fix that at the moment, though. So far, the wolves that I have met were really nice.” Yes, it was awkward, but she was trying. And that’s what counted, right?

The woman before seemed like she was forcing herself to be friendly. The smile most definitely was but Luz dismissed it. She was trying and that's what count to the pale girl. Thank you. She responded polity. She had never been complemented on her name, or had Firefly said something about. She couldn't really remember seeing as that had happened a while ago. I have been here for a couple of weeks. Firefly gave me a tour of the place. She responded voice light, vaguely she wondered what her friend was doing but knew that they would catch up later. Have you met her yet? Luz would be happy to introduce them if they hadn't met already.

Sitting down onto her back legs she tipped her head as Luz watched the ghost of a wolf before her. She hadn't really met anyone that was smaller than her. Larger? Yes but not smaller. She bet that Vera could get into tighter spots than she could and that would let her move better in thick brush. Do you like it here? Luz asked motioning her head to the area around them. She didn't really know what else to say. Things between them seemed to be nothing more than chit chat. How could she help them get to know each other better? An idea formed and her eyes gleamed with amusement how would the other react? She would wait for the answers and then she would see if her new found friend would like to play.

Vera smiled shyly at the polite response from the crème female, attempting to lessen her wary posture and ease into the learning curve that was making friends. That was something she struggled desperately with, no matter how hard she tried, it always ended up with not making a friend and parting ways indifferently, and sometimes even with slightly hostile tension in the air. She just wasn't a very sociable wolf, as she tended to accidently say things that weren't considered nice and gave off a cold vibe. Her attitude towards others about Florence didn't help either, but she couldn't help it. He was the one wolf that had stuck by her side without question.

Snowy ears pricked at the mention of the russet female that had introduced her and Florence to Black Thorn Downs as her tail wagged happily. Fly was the first wolf other than her larger companion whom Vera liked more than an acquaintance, and if she was friends with Luz, then maybe the two females would have a good chance at getting along well. "She was the one that brought my partner and I to Black Thorn Downs. She was very nice to me, even though I wasn't as... nice in return." Her gaze wavered momentarily, feeling just a twinge of shame. "I must admit, I'm not the greatest at making friends, but I do try my best. Sometimes it's not enough, though," she said quietly, ears splaying apologetically on the crest of her skull.

"Oh yes, it's a very nice place. Lots of wide open spaces to run on, but also small, hidden places that I can squeeze into. What about you?" Her attention was interrupted from the crème female when the wind brought along with it the sharp odor of deer on the wind. Grinning almost childishly at Luz, she barked once, angling her body towards the source and canting her head to the side. "Do you wanna go investigate?"

Luz listened intently to Vera's words before letting out a laugh. It seems that Firefly makes a lot of friends quite easily. She noticed the way the other said that she wasn't as nice to Fly as she could have been. Luz could understand to a point. It was a way to keep yourself safe ,no friends meant no one to use your emotions against you. It also meant that you were alone a lot of the time. Everybody has to try to make friends it isn't a one way path. Sometimes its a little harder with certain people and sometime its a little easier. Luz said with a grin and a shrug. It was as simple as that to her.

She nodded eagerly to Vera's question. I do like it here. It's not crowded with trees and the area itself isn't all that bad. She still did have a slight sweet spot for the cherry orchard to the south but the blackberry fields were just as nice. She couldn't wait to see what they looked like when the berries came into season. She could almost taste them.

Standing the pale girl laughed and gave the smaller female a mischievous grin. Race you! She called before she took off laughing. Her legs moved smoothly as she moved through the trees and bushes winding her way towards the scent of deer. A large smile was on her face as she glanced over her shoulder to see if she needed to adjust her speed a little. She knew she was fast and even though it was a race she didn't want to completely outrun her friend.

"She has it down all the way, maybe I should take lessons," Vera said, an unusual joking tone in her voice. She never joked around unless if it was with Florence, but wasn't joking around involved in making friends? It was worth a shot, though really, maybe she should take advice from Fly on how to make friends. Her caramel brown gaze looked curiously at the crème female as she spoke of how both wolves needed to want to become friends for it to work. That made sense. Curiously looking at Luz, Vera wondered briefly if she wanted to be friends. Maybe, but she didn't feel right in just asking the question outright.

The Diminutive Ivory She-wolf's lips curled back in a wolf grin when Luz agreed with her on the opinion of Black Thorn Downs territory. She loved that there wasn't many trees around, which meant she could run freely throughout the territory without any hindrances. But trees were nice too. Vera was surprised when the crème female suddenly took to her feet, called out the childhood words of 'Race you!', before taking off at top speed. Without question, she spun on her heels and took off after Luz, running as fast as she could. She herself didn't have that much speed, she was the average speed, but her distance running, however, was one of the best. She could run at her fastest for miles without needing a break, courtesy of her Arctic heritage. Vera laughed loudly as she ran after the crème female, both of them heading towards the scent of deer.

Luz slowed enough that she was running just ahead and to the side of the ghostly girl before sending a grin at her. She was enjoying this race and the company she had. It was nice to have friends that she knew she wouldn't be leaving behind any time soon and this made her more eager to learn about them. Her legs shifted into more of a bounding motion as she sent little puffs of snow her companions way. A laugh echoed up her throat as she once more at the ghostly girl. A small bush appeared out of no where, or at least that's what it seemed like to Luz and she was to close to change course so gathering herself she sprang over it. She landed with a thump and a spray of snow.

As the two raced the scent of deer meat grew stronger as well as the faint scent of lynx. Slightly concerned that maybe the lynx was still around Luz slowed her ears pricked forward to listen to the sounds around them. Her golden gaze swept the trees and bushes searching for movement. She didn't want to have the lynx coming back and surprise them. If it did come back and they weren't prepared it could cause some serious and maybe fatal injuries to one or both of them. She glanced to her smaller companion. Think the lynx left or it's still hanging around? She wanted to mention it to her in the off chance that the smaller wolf hadn't smelled over the enticing scent of fresh food.
