So you're the one - Senka - Dec 07, 2014 [dohtml]
RE: So you're the one - Vera - Dec 07, 2014 [dohtml] Border patrols, short hunting sessions, searches for herbs, wonderings of fellow pack mates; those were all that the Diminutive Ivory She-wolf thought about. Well, not exactly. Florence took up a large part of her mind lately, especially with his latest announcement. "Vera Corvonic Fortibus," she murmured softly under her breath, liking the way it rolled easily off of her tongue and the way it sounded in her ears. They had yet to broach the subject to Queen Minka and King Tokino, but she hoped fervently that they would accept it. The thought of being Florence's forever was not something she took lightly, and would always be charmed by the idea of it. Lost in her thoughts, Vera padded absentmindedly on the borders' edge through the fields that were beginning to be covered in a thick blanket of snow. She followed the trail of many wolves before her, marking it here and there where it was needed, but not fully concentrating on the task, that is, until the wind blew a strong scent of wolf in her direction. Stopping abruptly, she whipped her head around, lips bared in a silent snarl as her caramel brown eyes fell upon the insanely tall (as always) russet form of a wolf, to which she reached about half the height. If it wasn't for the fact that the aroma of Black Thorn Downs was upon the female's fur, Vera would have immediately chased her out of the territory without hesitation. As it was, she smoothed down her coat and warily approached the female, stopping a good distance away, curious, but not enough to want to know everything about her. "Hello?" She called out. [/dohtml] RE: So you're the one - Senka - Dec 08, 2014 Senka tilted her head in greeting to the smaller wolf, her tail brushing at her side briefly as she wagged it slightly, to show friendship. She hoped the two could be friends, even if they did not hit off as friends right away. Hello, I am Senka Flint." She greeted, also introducing herself in the same breath as she studied the woman before her. In size and colour at least, she seemed so different to her brother that it was spittle stance they got along so well but Senka never judged a wolf by sight alone. It was they acted and perceived themselves around other that she judged and even then, there were allowances to be made. "I am sorry if I startled you but I believe you know my brother, Florence? He spoke highly of you and I merely wished to meet the woman he is so...enamoured with." She meant it in no way that could be taken the wrong way. She was merely curious about the woman who held her brother's heart so strongly. It was something she had never really dealt with this kind of thing before, as neither of her siblings had shown any interest that was long lasting. Yet Florence seemed determined to court this wolf and Senka truly wanted to know her better, for the sake of the one she called her brother. She would be a part of her family one day and Senka had no ill thought towards the idea. Not unless Florence's chosen mate did something Senka deemed unforgivable. Re: - Spirit of Wildwood - Dec 08, 2014 There are several fresh rabbit tracks in the mud. Hunt Opportunity RE: So you're the one - Vera - Dec 08, 2014 [dohtml] Vera's eyes scanned the larger russet female's body, noticing the tilt of her head and wagging tail. It seemed the female was trying to convey friendly signals, but why would she? Oh, obviously: the size difference. The thought of her wanting to be friends didn't cross the Diminutive Ivory She-wolf's mind because, well, she didn't have... friends. One of her ears twitched, the only indication of her annoyance. She hated how some wolves that that just because she was smaller than them, she was timid and shy, scared of her own shadow, and most times sought to prove them wrong by showing them just how she was the opposite of what they thought. However, the only reason she didn't do exactly that was because the large russet female introduced herself as Senka Flint. Her lips curled back slightly when Senka spoke of Florence, and how much she wanted to meet the one he was so desperately head over heels for. "Yes," She said slowly, letting the full force of her gaze land on the larger russet female, "That is I." It wasn't dislike, no, it was because she had been sought out, for what? To talk about how great Florence was? She'd rather talk to a pond than with another wolf about her larger companion. "What do you want?" She asked irritably, forcing a mask of indifference onto her face and attempting to keep her posture neutral. She didn't exactly want to start a fight right here right now, but she wouldn't hold back if it did happen. She did need some excitement in her life, after all. [/dohtml] RE: So you're the one - Senka - Dec 09, 2014 Senka barely twitched at Vera's reaction to her, looking at her with a raised eyebrow. She had just told the woman that she wished to know her better, because Florence loved her so. It would not be surprising if the two were already mates, if not already very close to becoming them. It puzzled Senka slightly, seeing wolves fall in love so easily. Never had she ever truly fallen in love before with any wolf. "I believe I just told you what I wanted; a chance to meet the woman my brother loves and get to know her better." Senka explained cautiously, trying not to make it sound as if Vera was stupid. "I would like to be a part of Florence's life in the future and I sense you will be a part of that future. So it would not be remiss for us to get to know one another, if you are to become family." She wanted to add 'even if we do not get along.' But she bit back those words and kept them to herself. No, to attempt to insult Vera would be a bad idea. It'll be better to be neutral at least and kindly at best. "He told me your name is Vera yes?" Senka tried to start small conversation which she would be the first to admit she wasn't the best at. She was apparently a lot like her father in that regard, at least when he was younger and learnt to over come his shortcoming. "May I ask how you met?" RE: So you're the one - Vera - Dec 09, 2014 [dohtml] Vera clicked her teeth together silently, but menacingly when the larger russet female cautiously spoke again, almost like she was explaining something in great detail to someone who was either inferior or stupid. Of course she knew why Senka sought her out, but the Diminutive Ivory She-wolf had no idea what she wanted to talk about. Special annual family celebrations? A warning for her to not break Florence's heart? Of course not, she wasn't a mind reader, though it wouldn't be a bad talent to have. "Obviously, I got that much from when you mentioned Florence's name," she said stiffly, almost hissing out the words. Yea, she was definitely sure the two of them would not get on very well, but she'd attempt to try at getting along, for Florence's sake. Become family. Those two words held almost no meaning to Vera, who hadn't grown up knowing what a real family was like and could be. She was a stranger to the idea and concept of love and friendship, but was slowly trying to understand what the fuss was all about. Yea, sure, there was your brother whom you hadn't seen in a few months, so what? It just didn't make sense to her, but then again, no one had ever truly loved her in her younger years. It was only when she met Florence that someone actually cared for her at all. The Diminutive Ivory she-wolf reluctantly nodded to the larger russet female's conversation starter, not trusting herself to not snap out a poison-tipped snarky remark. She sucked in a deep breath when Senka asked how her and Florence met, not wanting to share the experience, but also trying to keep to her word and act somewhat nice to Florence's sister. "I ran away from my family and stumbled into a pack of feasting coyotes. Florence saved my life, something that I can never repay, and since then we've been inseparable," Vera finally said, almost glaring at Senka when she finished. [/dohtml] RE: So you're the one - Senka - Dec 16, 2014 Senka wasn't exactly surprised by Vera's reaction, it quietly sinking in she had acted or spoken wrongly. "My apologies if I have offended you in anyway." Senka apologized, bowing her head slightly when Vera hissed at her. "I...my siblings are the ones that received all the social graces that I sorely lack. I have tried to fix it but it seems social graces and I will never go together." It was truly something Senka had tried to work on, in an attempt to come of as more welcoming and friendly but she almost always missed the mark anyway. She tried picking up queses from others and attempted to copy how they acted in her younger years but regardless of what she did, nothing helped and she eventually just gave up trying at all. Her ears flickered when Vera took in a deep breath to tell her how the small wolf and Florence met, almost tempted to add that if she didn't wish to tell her how the two meet that there was no need to. But the small wolf went on, speaking of how they meet and how they were now inseparable. "My brother sounds like quite the brave soul." She commented, hoping it sounded...correct and not at all like an insult. It was meant to be a compliment, something nice and hopefully Vera understood that. Senka typically wasn't one to dance around things so she often said things out right and quite bluntly, many wolves thinking she was being rude instead of honest. It sometimes didn't help to get the point she was trying to get across, across to others at all. Hopefully, being in a new pack with friendly wolves and her brother would help. Shuffling her paws slightly, Senka tried to think of something else to say, to keep the conversation going. However, her mind drew a complete blank. Not showing anything, she instead wondered if Vera wanted to say anything. She wasn't lying in that her social skills were lacking. RE: So you're the one - Vera - Dec 17, 2014 [dohtml] The Diminutive Ivory She-wolf forced herself to become more calm and collected when Senka voiced an apology. Since the larger russet female was trying to be nice, it wouldn't do any harm to act at least somewhat cordial in return. It was the only way to make sure she didn't make any enemies in the pack, and she had to try to make friends, she was family, after all. Well, not blood related family, but family nonetheless. A small smile made its way onto her face as Senka spoke of nor having any social skills, now that was something she could relate to. "I'm much the same. I find it hard to interact with other wolves without driving them off, but I'm trying to work on that. Maybe we can help each other?" Maybe it would even help them become friends. Creamy ears pricked when the larger russet female said Florence was quite the brave soul. The Diminutive Ivory She-wolf nodded her head in complete agreement. Yes, Florence was one of the kindest and bravest men she knew, and would probably ever know. "He's always been there for me when I needed him, and given me everything I could possibly ever need. We should both be lucky to have him as a brother and a mate." There, she had finally said it aloud to someone other than herself or her larger companion. It felt good. The two wolves were silent after that, and Vera looked briefly down at her paws, unsure of what to say. "So... uhm, Senka. How long have you been a member of Black Thorn Downs?" [/dohtml] RE: So you're the one - Senka - Dec 18, 2014 A somewhat awkward silence fell over the pair as neither talked for a few moments. Senka shuffled in the snow, thoughts going over in her head until Vera asked how long Senka had been in the pack. A simple question, one she could answer with ease. Hopefully. “Only a few weeks.” Senka answered, rolling her shoulders back as she took into consideration if she should add anything more to the answer. “I’m a hunter so I’ve just been roaming the lands, looking for food to add to the caches. What of you? How long have you been a part of the pack?” There was another thing Senka wanted to say to Vera, something she was curious about but there was a voice whispering in the back of her mind telling her not to. So she tried to keep her mouth clamped shut because she knew if she opened her maw, the words would fly past her teeth and it would embarrass them both. And she did not want to make things even more awkward between them. “I wanted to ask what it’s like, being in love?” Damn it. Her curiosity got the better of her and made her ask the thing she did not really want to ask. But she was genuinely wondering what it felt like being in love, as she had not really considered it before and had never truly felt it either. But embarrassment blushed her voice and she just wanted the ground to swallow her up. |
