Restlessness leads to a dangerous kind of fun - Deacon - Feb 12, 2015 @Elettra @Angier @Enoki @Castiel @Greer and anyone else who wants in! (No preference on who post first) Dated for: February 11 [dohtml] His shoulder had healed slowly but decently, not fully yet, after that rambunctious day with Enoki and an angry wolverine. While he had taken use to the soreness or ache that laid across his right shoulder Deacon assumed his normal growing child duties. Walking around, eating, and fooling around. This had became his pattern since practically the day he could walk. Although the older he got the more he craved for more. Something was stirring inside the oldest Archer-Lyall prince. Something incurable by the pure cause of his bloodlines. Wanderlust. Shuffling around he hesitated what to do about it for a long while. Often times he took short trips to try and fight the urges to go further. But this was ridiculous. His paws and mind always begged or whispered for him to go farther. To see what was beyond his well known surroundings. While he wasn't entirely sure if it was the logically right idea, he knew it felt like the right idea. Anxious nerves settled in. He desperately needed to be set free. Deacon was almost sure if he stayed any longer it would be like a butterfly having its wings ripped off. Pacing around he stood near the southern borders where many scents mingled together. The smell of all his pack mates and members he called family. They had done so much for him and all he wanted to do was leave? Well it seemed the prince was rather rude after all... Deciding it was now or never his muzzle was pointed up to the sky. Shaky he paused to take in a deep breath. All before the air was pushed back in a howl for his parents or anyone who had close ties to him. When his song was paused the dark boy's rump slammed into the snowy floor. It was merely a waiting game now. RE: Restlessness leads to a dangerous kind of fun - Enoki - Feb 12, 2015 -Sets out a box of tissues just in case- [dohtml] It had been a couple weeks now since the piebald woman had saved the eldest prince's life from an angry wolverine that had foolishly been disturbed. He unfortunately didn't get to walk away unscathed having a wound to his shoulder and neither did Enoki as a pair of partly healed lacerated claw marks now marred the left side of her dark tinted muzzle before she managed to end its life. Now the fur of the beast lined a portion of the pack den, a gift she gave to the young prince after that adrenaline filled day. All that remained of their wounds now were scabs and the early stages of scarring. Deacon getting the better hand with his ebony fur capable of helping to camouflage the damage that had been done. But she would risk her life for his all over again if it meant keeping him safe. The boy had acquired a special place in her tender heart since their first encounter. Today though her day was less hectic taking up her usual routine of running the borders before trudging out in the snow to the meadow to attempt a hunt. Most days were unsuccessful with the ever present fog hindering her senses leaving her to search further and further than she would have liked, but some days luck would be on her side and a snowshoe hare would pick the wrong time to cross her path. They were hardly enough to feed a pack as large as Willow Ridge, but it filled a spot in the caches and left someone a little less hungry. Currently her two toned frame trailed over the south-eastern portion of the border where Elettra had ran over recently, her personal scent used for marking her territory fresh under Enoki's nose. A howl on the air belonging to her favorite pup quickly brought her to a standstill, ears alert cupping each nervous tone of his melody that caused the muscles of her body to tense. He was not only summoning his parents, but anyone else that had come to mean something to the Archer-Lyall. Was he alright? Ever since the wolverine incident she had stuck closer to his side than usual and hearing his shaky voice now put the woman on edge. Without hesitation she followed the sound of his howl to the southern border. She was the first to arrive as she came upon his form, rump planted firmly into the snow. "Is everything alright, Deacon?" She quickly asked him while giving him a quick look over to evaluate him for herself. All seemed to be okay, but what was the reasoning for his call? RE: Restlessness leads to a dangerous kind of fun - Elettra - Feb 18, 2015 It had, unfortunately, been some time since Elettra had been able to gather any true one on one time with her youngest litter. With her return, matters needed to be taken care of even more then she had put aside time for - firstly, patching up the distance which had formed between her and her mate for having been gone so long. Secondly, speaking to Sorya on the manners of her leaving, keeping up to date on her travels just outside of the lands in pursuit of Greer. Thirdly, Rook, which had been a whole manner all his own and of course in between taking into consideration that everyone was doing their jobs: the hunters finding enough food for the pack, Skoll and Morganna taking up Scouting to further protect the lands and help the hunters in searching and of course, Nicolo and what lessons and training he had managed to place on the teenagers as he took on an important, less physical roll of Teacher within the ranks.
She was trailing lazily along the borders when her son called out to her, looping along her patrolling at a more brisk pace in wonder of what he wished of her and any else who had gathered his attention. As of yet, Castiel had been the only son within this litter to not have run out on her at one point or another, staying as loyal and lawful as he had been upon his birthing. Deacon seeking out attention was of no shock to her, already having asked to go along with Angier more on patrolling, as well as having asked on multiple occasions to explore just outside of the lands when first explaining which way he was going and when he planned on to return in order to keep from another 'missing child manner' on their paws. Expecting something along the lines of this once more, she approaches her wonder lust boy, licking lightly as his wounded shoulder for a greeting. Though none of their pack had perished as the harsh winter before, the scavengers and predators had been vicious this year in attempt to take for themselves. RE: Restlessness leads to a dangerous kind of fun - Deacon - Mar 04, 2015 @Enoki @Elettra Enoki was the first to show, no surprise here though. As she offered her quick look over and words of concern the boy's tail thumped behind him like a nervous pup. "Uh, oh, I suppose so." Before he could get something out his mother was next in line to show. It was a surprise his father @Angier had not shown up yet. Oh well. Surely his father would approach soon. The lick from Elettra was greeted by a low whine and respectful lick to her grey chin. "Mother," Deacon's lips curled upwards in a pleasant smile. It had been some time sense the boy had been able to have some time with his mother. While it was a bit upsetting to have this be the time and place for the two Archer's to see each other Deacon figured now was better than never. "I'm happy to see you two." His headed nodded towards Enoki and Elettra, both rather regal woman of the Ridge. "I've asked you to show today in hopes of having your," Deacon's eyes respectfully looked to his mother's pale grey eyes. "Permission to leave home and the Ridge. Of course I'll make sure to visit though!" His last sentence was quickly tied on to assure his mother he wasn't simple disappearing from Willow Ridge (like his eldest brother, Asriel, whom Deacon had never met). Standing up he let his back sink in a bit to show the uttermost respect to the two woman. The Archer Lyall had developed a strong relation ship with Enoki and of course his mother, so it would be a shame to up and go but Deacon thought it to be best. This way he could travel without having to scare the pack on where he may have traveled to this time around. RE: Restlessness leads to a dangerous kind of fun - Enoki - Mar 04, 2015 [dohtml] It didn't take long after her arrival for another swarthy form to appear and it took equally as short of time for Enoki to realize it was Elettra that now stepped forth to greet her son with a lick to the wounded shoulder he had. Respectfully her body lowered to be beneath her height and the tail that once wagged high casually now brushed against the snow and flung it with each swish she made. "Elettra." She greeted with a small nod of her head and a gentle smile before letting her amber eyes return to the pup who now began to speak on his reasoning for calling those dear to him today. With ears cupped forward she listened intently as they spilled from his mouth, seeking permission more so from his mother dearest to leave the safety of Willow Ridge to fulfill whatever desires yearned within the beating of his heart and restlessness of his paws. Mixed emotions arose within the aging woman, but she did her best to keep them from appearing on the features of her muzzle knowing that this was not her place to voice any opinion unless asked. The matriarch and mother beside her held the final word on what was to become of this sought after permission. Inside the piebald woman was both saddened by his decision to leave and stirred protectiveness over him. Here within the whip like branches of the willows she could look over the fast growing prince, but venturing out past the permitted areas a pack member could roam her ability to do so was dampened. What was there for her to do if he should fall victim to another attack by a predator such as wolverine or worse a mountain lion? These thoughts caused her to shift in her spot while the points of her ears momentarily pressed against the back of her head. Maybe if the queen would allow it she could act as a guardian over the traveling prince, but then again that would leave the pack with one less able bodied hunter. It was a game of tug-o-war. Part of her wanted to protect the pup and leave with him for safety's sake, pulling one way, but her upbringing left her wanting to fulfill the loyalty she had sworn to the matriarch, pulling the opposite way. Remaining silent she let the thoughts rage their little game inside while she waiting to hear the words Elettra would offer. Re: - Spirit of Wildwood - Mar 04, 2015 A lynx has left behind the remains of a deer. +5 Health RE: Restlessness leads to a dangerous kind of fun - Elettra - Mar 12, 2015 A deep smile and a returned dip of her head was offered to the black and white patched woman at her side, a small wave of her tail offered as it hovered it the air. Elettra had thus deeply enjoyed Enoki's time here, having offered for her to be a part of the pack quite some time before she had joined upon Elettra and Enoki's reuniting. She, along with Elettra's sister Adele, and sisters Quil and Cinder, had done a wonderful job in keeping the caches supplied during the winter. Elettra's attention to the woman today was brief, however, as Elettra's focus turned to her son as he began speaking up. The words that came from his mouth was still a bit of a shock to the woman despite the fact that he was the wondering sort. Elettra had described to her youngest litter of their brother, Asriel, who they had not the pleasure to meet and mention of Deacon being much like him in personality was showing now more then ever. "I see..." She speaks, hesitant on what to say at first as her eyes shift, searching as though hoping Angier might pop out at any moment. It would seem thus far the only child from their litter that had yet to show any signs of wishing to leave the pack lands so soon was Castiel. "Where will you go?" She finally says then, looking back to her son with an obvious, unhidden, saddened expression on her features. Where could he possibly wish to be more then at home, with his family?
RE: Restlessness leads to a dangerous kind of fun - Deacon - Mar 19, 2015 His mother's words were certainly hard to listen to. She was so sad and obviously hurt by these words. Deacon's eyes dropped to look at the ground and his ears folded back against his neck. The only thing that managed to draw the Archer Lyall's eyes away from the ground was the question of his mother. The regal queen of the Ridge wanted to know where he would go. It left him to question himself momentarily. Where would he go? Of course it struck him then he had already met wolves of other packs. "Well I've met a princess my the name Celandine who lives up on the mountain in this place called Silent Moon Plateau," He paused to remember the thoughts of his missed and beloved princess. Deacon could almost remember her so well he swore he felt her touch and smelt her mountain scents. Bringing himself back to reality he looked at the trees around them for a moment. "I've also met Orren of Cut Rock River." The young boy smiled thinking about his recently new found friend. He would certainly have to go visit him on his travels. "Plus, there also has to be many more wolves around, right mom? @Enoki?" He looked with wide fire lit eyes at @Elettra before looking at Enoki. Certainly Enoki had something to say in all of this. Deacon could almost expect she would object to him leaving alone, especially after his wolverine incident. But he needed this. His growing large form was craving freedom and the uttermost need to explore was growing large and larger inside of him. RE: Restlessness leads to a dangerous kind of fun - Enoki - Mar 20, 2015 [dohtml] At the mention of a pack on the mountain the patchy woman gave an interested flick of her ears as thoughts briefly drifted to think of the earthy man she had been meeting with at the rise most evenings. He had spoken of living on the mountain in a pack, thought never mentioned their name and it made her wonder if this was the pack he resigned in. Silent Moon Plateau. That was a name she would keep in the back of her mind for safe keeping. Could prove useful the next time she managed to steal away and visit Heigen at the base of the mountain. For now though her thoughts and attention returned to the conversation at hand, listening to the swarthy prince list the young wolves he had met and inquire that there must be more wolves yet to be met by him. A wild look blazing within the depths of his eyes that almost brought a smile to her lips if she wasn't so against the idea of him leaving on his own, especially after the whole wolverine incident that nearly took his life if she hadn't been so close when he called for help. The woman was on the fence about it all still. She wanted to keep him home and safe within the willows. She didn't want to crush his dreams and wanderlust in exploring the giant world he lived in. There was so much to see and do. The young prince reminded the Ashrelle woman a lot of herself. Around her second year the same wanderlust that filled him now had filled her. Leaving her to depart from home to explore the world and come to the lore, finding home here among the weeping willows and wolves of the Ridge. "I don't know what to tell you, Deac. It's a dangerous place out there and I and no doubt your mother.." A quick glance to Elettra following this statement before glancing back down at Deacon with amber eyes. would hate for something to happen to you while out and about alone. But you are growing and should be allowed some freedom to an extent. I personally would feel safer if you had someone with you or traveled no farther than a couple days from home." She left it at that, hoping nothing said was crossing a line of some sort. She would hate to get on the bad side of Elettra especially when it came to her brood. RE: Restlessness leads to a dangerous kind of fun - Elettra - Apr 10, 2015 She didn't know the pack, nor the girl. Strangers to her as far as names went, though in truth Phineas and his children were most definitely known by her, yet by the name of 'Magnolia' instead, being yet unaware of the move which had been made to her, though with the ending of winter and coming of spring, was more then likely to find out soon enough - if her scouts were doing their jobs, that is. If it were up to Elettra, she would have eyes everywhere. The news of the boy he had met within Cut Rock River however, was more concerning. "Cut Rock River is enemies to our ally, Whisper Caverns. ... I'd rather you did not stick around there." More or less, don't, lest she have to make an enemy out of her own child.
Enoki's suggestions were pleasant, yet likely unaffected in convincing Deacon, to which Elettra was silent a moment to see what he might say. It was not like he wished to wonder outside of Willow Ridge, go on a 'scouting trip' around the lands to see the various packs. Elettra would have hoped some of her children would have thought up this idea, to travel with a fellow pack scout and bring back information. No, Deacon said he wanted to leave and that likely did not mean only for a week or two. "There is more then just other wolves out there, Deacon..." The mother speaks delicately, her eyes moving over his yet still healing wounds and here he was, wanting to run off to explore on his own before he even reached a year old? She swallows hard, sighing... "I suppose you should let your father know first...." She speaks, figuring there was little else she could do.
