a feast for one - Minka - Apr 01, 2015 [dohtml] It was too easy, playing with the wolves that had been left behind by the Spirit of the Wildwood. They were so enthralled with their own lives and so entangled with one another, it was as easy as leaving behind a well placed present to send them into chaos. The violent chaos of war might be seen as terrible to some wolves, but it fed the ethereal fiend like venison to a canine. Eyes burned deep red as the swept over the stone of the territory, the being was well past the borders now. With a cackle she found what she searched for, a cache left so carelessly without a guard oh these pitiful fools. Pushing from her haunches Minka crossed the ground in leaps that would be unsettling to see for an earthly being. Blunt nails scratched at the ground until the carcass that lay within the cache stood bare in the mountain air. The fiend gorged herself on the pack's spoils, eating everything in sight leaving only the bones behind, even the marrow sucked clean. She didn't bother to hide what she had done, instead she leisurely chewed upon the leftover skeletons, tossing the white scraps this way and that. Standing up sometime later the fiend was pleased with the mess that she had created, the hole stood barren which had once been full of food. The bones were scattered across the rocks, teeth marks marring the otherwise smooth cartilage. In the middle Minka had left a present of her own for the wolves who lived her. The fiend disappeared then, it was as if she had never been there. A single oak leaf's brilliant green stood stark against the grey slate and bones. |
