Pharika Idasis

A slight amount of annoyance began to trickle its way into
Pharika's mind. She had asked him a question; he briefly answered, then began questioning her again.
Her face contorts slightly in displeasure before speaking. "No, I do not." She answered shortly, the
audacity in her voice growing apparent. "Willows, hmm? Sounds like a scenic place." Attempting to
put out the short fuse that was ignited on the TnT that was her temper, she paces back toward the water.
Her eyes follow a maple leaf as it drifts downward and lands on the surface of the river, slowly drifting away.
This was a decent encounter, certainly nothing note-worthy to her thus far.

She's about fifteen feet from him when she seats herself. Her rump touches the ground with a slight thud,
her facade stoic. Bringing her front limbs downward, she stretches out before laying down. The cool airflow from
the river soothed her. "I never know whether or not my residence will be permanent." She wasn't sure
if she believed her own words or not. Her current pack was damn near perfect, at least to her, so far. Nothing
came up in her mind as a negative when she pondered it. The mountain may have its perks and its faults, but
it interested her moreover anything.

"This is the second pack I've been in." Pharika states openly, rolling her shoulders.

Craw
he's a butt :c
Had his answer not been satisfactory? Here he was making an effort to socialise even when she was being so unforthcoming, giving her the benefit of the doubt. @Pharika didn't know the pack he spoke of, which at this point was hardly surprising. Craw doubted if she knew anything valuable at all. As such, he responded with barely more than a grunt at her airy comment regarding the willows, but it got worse.

Time passed as she settled herself, Craw uninterested in breaking the silence she had brought on with her inability to contribute meaningfully to this conversation she had started. He just watched her, distrustful but also a little incredulous, and half believed that she had concluded their entirely jejune interaction until she opened her mouth to spout more nonsense. He snorted, finally turning his gaze away, now convinced that she was either empty-headed or obnoxious, or perhaps just enjoyed tormenting others. "Right," he drawled, clearly captivated by her insights, but said nothing else; he was beginning to wonder if his presence was required at all, or whether she would have been much happier sitting here talking to himself. His contributions hardly seemed all that welcome, and far be it for him to waste energy on a lost cause. Maybe she didn't really have a pack, and was just terribly lonely - in which case, he had no charity for her if she could not prove her company had some value.

Pharika Idasis

Pharika looks at her paws, her gaze unwavering. Her mother's image had intruded her mind.
Attempting to clear her mind, Rika only finds herself growing uneasy. Taking in a deep breath, she holds it for
a few seconds before releasing. "Do you find yourself missing your old pack at all?" She asks suddenly,
her eyes still upon her white-flecked paws. Her teeth grit as her mother's face holds her mind captive. Quietly
she turns her head toward Craw. Her eyes take in the scarring upon his face and the darkness surrounding his
eyes. "The only wolf I can truly say I miss is my father." Rika hadn't meant for it to happen, but she
began opening up. She hadn't discussed her past with any other wolf before... what she had done leading to
her exile.

"But..." Her voice trails off. Looking back toward the water, she was suddenly urged by her mind to jump
in. Jump in and stay under the water. Never come back up. Stop, she hisses internally to her intruding
thoughts. They persisted, but she continued to speak as if they were nonexistent. "Due to unfortunate
events, I'd been exiled from my home pack."
Her nose scrunches and she shakes her head. Gazing back
toward Craw, she questions him "You look like the kind of wolf who came from the cold, as I did. Is that
correct?"
Pharika had grown used to the cold temperatures in which she hailed from. The climate here seemed
like heaven. Whatever the winter was to bring, she was sure she'd survive in good health.

Craw
He hadn't been wrong. Without any prompting at all, the woman continued, noticeably affected by what was on her mind. It was only the fact that she outright addressed him with a question did Craw glance sharply back at her, and then the nature of that question made his lips pull back over his teeth. If this was going to become a therapy session, he wasn't interested in the slightest. She knew nothing about him, so -

But her comments were so deliberate, he thought, and Craw hesitated. His eyes did another pass over her, but there was no recognition there, her name meaning nothing - but it could have been fake. There was no telling who she really was. Smoothing his defensive posture back out, he nevertheless remained on edge, even more distrustful than before, unable to decide if her rambling was truly inane or her playing with him. Could she know? Her final question pushed him even further into believing that she was something other than she appeared, and he waited a long moment, deciding how to respond, making no sound other than his low, repetitive wheezing.

"Yes," was what he eventually chose, his voice low and deliberate. If she knew, he could not make it obvious that he had guessed as such - unless that was the point, and this chance meeting was really a means to exchange unspoken messages. In that case, he could oblige, and if she really was as innocuous as he had first thought, then his underlying meanings would remain hidden. He watched her closely, watched her expression and the subtle shifts in her body, waited for any telltale signs in her voice. "I long to see my father again, too." You tell him that, if you are his creature. "And my pack. It is... wrong for us to be apart."

You cannot exile me from what is mine.

Pharika Idasis
[[ooc; Pharika is scootin' off!]]

Pharika listens, yet she is still distracted by her thoughts. She needed to
rest. Whenever her mind began to constrict her, it seemed only sleeping could cull the negativity. Her
red-brown eyes catch the flash of the man's teeth at her words. A wave of heat rolls over her before she
moved. Pharika rises to her feet, the fur on her neck wanting to prickle and raise, but she remains stoic
instead. A breeze whips across the water, carrying with it a whirl of orange and red leaves. The monochrome
woman looks to the wheezing man, knowing the wolf could likely and easily do without her company.

Her absence would mean nothing to him. "Well, then. I'm going to take my leave." Her gaze is sharp
as she looks to him one last time. Her bushy black tail flicks before she lowers her head to the water for a final
drink. After lapping her fill, she is tempted to just pad off back toward Lost Lake without another word. Instead,
she speaks, not looking at the ashen man near her. "Good luck with whatever endeavors you may have."

Without another word, she looks forward, large body moving forth toward the edge of the mountains. Nothing
seemed to have come of this encounter, but alas, such was life. She was more focused on getting to know
the members of her new family. To give herself purpose, she'd serve them to the best of her ability. Perhaps
that would keep her dark thoughts quiet for awhile.
