Treyah had hardly slept the whole time the children had been missing. She was beside herself, a failure already before she's even really started. The exhaustion stayed with her once they were home, too afraid to close her eyes for long in case they slipped away again. She owed the mountain wolves, that much she knew without a doubt, but when she would get around to repaying them, well she wasn't quite sure.
Even now, as she fought to keep her eyes open, the broken body of a hare resting between her paws, she wasn't sure she could bring herself to eat. The oppressive heat was working it's magic, the children were squabbling playing within earshot, and they were well within the heart of the territory. She should have been fine with dropping her guard. She wasn't, but she could only fight her own body for so long. Her chin dipped towards her chest, eyelids growing heavier with every blink. She tried to shake it off and failed, head slipping to rest alongside her forgotten meal, the Tainn began to snore.
