A lop-sided grin fell onto his dark lips at his raven-coloured nephew’s response. XIX did not expect the yearling to answer any differently – it was apparent that he cared for the russet stranger, and was incredibly excited to see that she had taken his advice. The female’s responses had reminded him of his own when he and Anastasia had decided to join Karpos’ father’s pack. She had the essential skills that they needed – adopting a role within the pack could come later. It had taken XIX many months before deciding he should pursue the role of healer. From the passion that fueled her voice Lachesis knew that Jynx would be an asset to them; she embodied what Cut Rock was looking for, so there was no reason to delay the acceptance any further.
“Welcome to Cut Rock River, Jynx,” he responded after a brief pause, his pear-coloured eyes falling onto the russet female for a moment before falling onto his dark nephew once more. “Karpos, I’m sure you won’t mind showing our new packmate around?” The answer was obvious, but XIX wanted to the see the excitement on the Slayer child’s face. His attention returned to Jynx once more: “If you have any questions Jynx do not hesitate to ask myself or Karpos. I know you will fit in perfectly with the pack.” With a soft nod of his head the long-legged leader gave his nephew an affectionate nudge to the shoulder before he turned back into pack territory, his long tail waving behind him. He was excited not only for the pack, but for Karpos as well – the troubled yearling needed another close to his age to converse with. He was surrounded by puppies and older wolves, and while he had his sister, he needed someone else. The interaction between the pair reminded XIX of himself and Capella – he just hoped it would not end the same way.
stick with those who stick with you
Welcome. That was the answer he had been hoping for and as usual, his uncle did not fail to deliver. The boy grinned, his eyes flashing to his uncle a grateful look before he rushed to Jynx's side although he did not move too close to her because he knew better than to encroach on her space. He grinned goofishly as his uncle turned and left the scene. "Don't worry, there isn't too much to memorize! But oh where to start." His words contradicted themselves in all honesty but he didn't pick up on it. "There is the river, then the pack den, then my uncle's herb den then the borders." He thought about all of the possibilities aloud before taking off, calling for Jynx to follow after him. It was the start of a new friendship and a new bond that would hopefully last a lifetime.
