Piety Santoro
On the borders of WM, Heavy snow, 13 ° F, -11 ° C

She never completely stopped thinking about the tawny healer. She did accept that he might never come back to the monadnock. They had gone through something like this before, not talking for two weeks. He hadn't completely disappeared during that time, though. So what drove him away this time? Why was nothing said before he was gone? Piety realized that those questions fueled more anger than sadness from her.

Her long legs carried her across the borders. The Santoro found moments to wiggle free from Wraith's protective watch and be alone. Granted she usually found herself curled up with Morganna for a nap or making sure those who were still around were doing some work. It was a surprise that Anaia hadn't yanked along her sister Saradathia with her. The taste of the incident still sour in her mouth. It meant more work would need to be done but at least there were fewer mouths to feed for now.

With a huff, she slowed her pace around the border. All this snow had her considering if it was really worth being out here. Maybe she could snag Wraith for a stroll or even just a chat. The dove needed something to busy her mind from any negative thoughts that were growing.

A frown tugged at the agouti healer’s brows as Lorcan traipsed his way through the heavy snow back towards the monadnock. His departure from @Inna had been less than perfect and part of him still questioned if perhaps he had been wrong to let his animal urges control his actions that morning. He could still smell her scent lingering on his pelt and, despite rolling in the freshly fallen snow numerous times on his way back the stone plateau, he could not rid himself of it.

He pushed the concerns about Inna and his incriminating odour to the back of his mind as he moved to approach the marked territorial borders. Golden eyes struggled to see through the heavily falling snow, but his black-tipped tail still swayed in delight as the familiar scent of home greeted his nose. Although his time away had been fun, the healer had certainly missed his pack mates.

Quickening his pace slightly, his paws carried him onwards in the direction of the old goat track which he knew to be up ahead. However, he paused suddenly as a wave of scent hit his nose. Russet ears fell back against his head anxiously as his golden eyes scanned around for the female it belonged to. After a heartbeat or two he spotted movement ahead of him, and after another long pause the agouti male cautiously stepped forwards to approach her. “Piety?” He called out, his tail swaying awkwardly behind him, feeling unsure of how she would react to his presence.

Piety Santoro
As soon as she was content to head back up the Monadnock a voice called out. Her chest felt tight as she moved to try and see him better. Was he really here? Amongst the falling snow, she could make out his form. A frown took over her face as her tail lashed behind her. "What the hell?" She barked out and stomped closer to him. His scent was different, there was someone on his pelt. The Monadnock healer hadn't been alone out there? Her aggression only seemed to swell.

"Are you serious?" She snapped her teeth towards him in warning. He had been out there with some floozy while she worried about him. "You just leave us, me, without a word and come back to smell of some broad." Her tail raised as her eyes narrowed. Piety didn't think that Lorcan had ever pissed her off more than he had right now. She stared him down hard, daring him to try something. If a true commotion was started surely @Wraith and @Morganna would make an appearance. Maybe even Mittani or @Saradathia would stick their nose in. Her lip pulled back to show her teeth to the healer. Did he just chase around some bitch for two weeks and once he got what he wanted decided to come home? The creeping thought that whoever that female was was going to have some bastard child out there was only fuel to the fire inside of her.

She hoped he would have something good to say because Piety was positive if she wasn't going to take it then certainly Morganna (or Wraith even) wouldn't take it.

Lorcán Artemieva
Golden eyes strained to peer through the falling snow that cloaked the space between them. He felt his heart quicken, his mind whirling with a mixture of emotion, as his sight finally settled on those deep earthy brown pools filled with fire. Lorcan’s eyes widened momentarily as he watched the frown form on her face and her tail move to lash angrily behind her.

Russet ears fell back against his crown as he watched in stunned silence as Piety stomped straight towards him, moving through the flurry of snow to close the distance between then in a heartbeat. He dipped his head down and his tail curled between his legs in apology as her jaws snapped towards him. Charcoal lips parted to speak, to explain, but @Piety gave him no chance to plead his case as she continued on to swiftly label him guilty.

Cowering lower, Lorcan shifted around to remove himself from her line of attack before he even attempted to try and explain things. However, as he did so his eyes subconsciously scanned across her frame and quickly noticed the subtle changes that were already taking place to her body due to her condition. His brows furrowed and his fur bristled as he shifted to rise up back to his full height to take on a more confrontational stance. “Well, judging by your condition, it doesn’t seem like I was exactly missed.” He snapped back, fangs flashing as his top lip curled back in resentment.

Already, images of his male pack mates were flashing through his mind as Lorcan desperately tried to figure who exactly had gone and swept her off her feet.

Wraith Kael

That Wraith was stressed was an understatement. @Craw's prolonged absence was hard on all of them, but the northerner couldn't deny it was the worst on himself and @Morganna. That his best friend could go off at the first sign of his previous packmates left a bitter taste in the male's mouth. An empire, he'd wanted. To rule the lowlands. And now where was he? He'd left his own mate in season on her own and forced her to seek relief elsewhere. Though Wraith made no mention of it, he had a sneaking suspicion of just who she'd gone to see in her three day absence.

The bastard, as much as he loved him, had a lot to answer to when he returned. And if the spider thought he could just come back and rub shoulders and all would be forgiven, he had another thing coming. Wraith held Craw to the highest standard and he'd be damned if he let him not live up to it. If he still wanted the pack, he'd better damn well prove it. While the Second had never imagined sharing blows with his brother, he couldn't imagine not doing so in this moment. A leader was meant to lead and right now, his friend was doing a piss poor job.

It was these such troubling thoughts that already had him riled when he heard the angry, distressed voice of his mate. Based on what he could overhear, he had no doubt of who she was snapping at. Poor timing left Wraith coming upon the pair just as @Lorcan's own biting retort and lifted lips.

Seeing anyone disrespect his mate brought an automatic and vicious fury raging in his blood with the need to shred into flesh for the transgression. Instead, he took a bolstering breath. Perhaps that was a suitable reaction as a mate against an outsider. But not for pack. Not for his packmates. Patience, he reminded himself. Patience and understanding, but also a firm guidance as he always had with the pups.

He did not growl. His voice was naturally deep enough that it communicated through his words. "Lorcan," he rumbled, tail lifted high. "I'm glad to see you've returned, but think long and hard about your next choice of words." While the tawny male may be hurt with @Piety opting for another, she had done nothing wrong by choosing to remain loyal to her own.

As it still remained his place to reprimand poor behavior, Wraith had no qualms about lashing out with a sharp tongue."You're a highly respected member of this pack. Act like it." Behind his words was an unspoken warning of Or I will make you.
