The scattered moonlight that filtered through the darkened woods was nothing spectacular. The thick fog was nothing remarkable in itself either. But the way it moved... Now that was something entirely new. She had settled herself when she first noted the way it billowed and swirled, as though a body had just passed through it, but her ears and dampened nose told her there was nobody there. Now her eyes narrowed fearlessly as she watched on again, whatever it was was going back the way it had come... Until it stopped.
She wasn't foolish enough to call out in the dark, she knew full well what lurked in the dark places of this world, and chances were it wasn't something she wanted alerted to her presence. So she sat, and she watched as some invisible force moved the mist before her. Was it just a wandering spirit? or something far more tangible?
