Hunter Demonstration 1/3
Just one day left. One day and spring would officially be here. But judging by the hot itch under her skin, the snow that still remained on the ground and the storm gray clouds, it sure did not feel like spring. While the effects of her heat were not nearly as intense before, they were still there. Making her restless, pacing in the middle of the night when she couldn't sleep. In order to avoid taking out her moodiness on any of her new pack mates, the former Notch leader isolated herself. But in doing so, she was missing out on some much needed one on one time with some new faces. Something even she would admit, she craved.
After her talk with Emrys concerning their relationship, she felt better. They knew where they stood with one another and had made their feelings clear. But a nagging uncertainty still lingered in her mind. Would their partnership improve or deteriorate? She knew that the answer would only come with time. Whatever would be, would be and she would not stop fate from taking it's course. In the meantime, she had at least come to one solid decision. She would stay here in Driftwood for the long term. Lachesis had taken her and Emrys in when they were nearing their breaking point, and the pale wolf was a long time friend. She owed him her loyalty in exchange and was happy to give it. With her choice to stay solidified, the russet woman centered her attention towards her aspirations. She was keen on pursuing the role of a hunter, as tracking and studying prey was her specialty. She had not spoken to either Lilya or Lachesis about her desire to fulfill such a role. But to any observer...especially today, her actions would speak for themselves.
Away from the rushing river, further inland amongst the surrounding forest, Jynx was at work. Groups of mule deer were slowly beginning to filter back into the forest, as if in anticipation of the fresh shoots of spring grass. Set back many yards away, the lone female observed them quietly but intently. Her posture was not one of a wolf hunting, or even stalking. Part of what it took to be a successful hunter in a pack meant being able to study and monitor the behavior of any potential prey passing through the territory. Sitting statue still, focused intense yellow eyes flicked from one individual to the next, noting in detail their body condition, gait and scent. During the days when she had not been overwhelmed with duties of leadership, she had often spent her free time like this. Caught up in her task, she hadn't bothered to look over her shoulder to see if she was actually alone.
