And then, to make it worse, he started laughing at her. He was invalidating her because she was young, telling her that what she was saying didn’t matter to him with that simple action. He was so afraid of her mother being a dictator that he didn’t even realize he was already well on his way to being one.
When he turned to leave she didn’t stop him. She simply watched him go with a cold expression. Let him believe what he wanted, obviously there was no changing either of their minds. One he had disappeared, she spat at the ground then turned and stalked off to go for a run.
