RE: Vasco, you come across a group of fish spawning.
He had managed to cling on to his rank by the skin of his teeth, but it wasn’t much of a victory. Clover would be birthing Vayko’s pups any day, Sharlee too was pregnant, and meanwhile, nearly all of Viorel’s children were gone. Archer’s betrayal had been an unexpected blow, leaving the now-great grandpa torn, butter for better or worse, the boy was gone with his woman and pups to come. Who knew what had become of Nix and Isla? And Sephrina… That had been by far the hardest hit, such an unexpected loss, and he hadn’t even been there – none of them had. Part of him blamed Viorel, for letting them out of his sight in this forced attempt to be like the Valle’s of the Estuary, still somehow striving to be like them. But he would never say as much out loud. Instead her brooded, increasingly sticking to himself as he wandered the territory, chipping in just enough to not raise suspicion; Hopefully… His little empire of sand had crumbled away as easily as it had been built, and now he had no idea how to regain his upper hand. Which just left him bitter most of the time. Today though, his mood was briefly lightened when he came upon a potential feast, in one of the crooks at the edge of the backwater. A group of fat, slow fish had come into the shallow waters, acting as nature bid them this time of year. And Vasco too would indulge his instincts, to satisfy his hunger at least, if nothing else.
