Magg hadn't wanted anyone to come along with her, certainly not a babysitter. Being alone, going a bit too far, maybe even taking a risk; that had all been the point. She couldn't fault her parents for protecting her after everything the pack had been through, but she could certainly be grumpy about it.
Her demeanor with Leo was markedly different from when they'd gone to Paradise Falls. Magg was using restraint in not outright bolting from him, but she still wasn't minding well. Pointedly putting distance between them, and hopefully he would just give her the benefit of the doubt, assume she was that eager to lead the way. And she was still looking for signs of Galen or the others, but hadn't all this been looked over already? Mount Dire's peak was still above them, a clear marker of the farthest she'd ever gone this way before.
She wanted to be past it, without Leo.
