Late evening, moderate winter storm
Winter had truly come for them now, the storms becoming more frequent and less predictable every week that passed. The leader had worried about leaving the pack, with Clover injured from the last storm and Eros so new to leading, but he needed to try to find Archer and Ally. His son had gone off after his daughter but it had been a moon and a half ago and given the weather it was keeping him up at night. Just add it to the long list of things that had prevented him from being able to sleep since the end of the summer.
It had only been a few nights outside of the borders, but it felt good to stretch his legs again, get some perspective on things. It had been so long since he had slept somewhere except for inside the territory. A small part of him whispered sweet nothings about never going back and just keep on moving, but a larger part of him was still in control and knew that wasn’t what he wanted. He had really been getting in the groove of things, had pushed into a thicket the mostly protected from the blustering winds when the snow started to fall.
Viorel had made quick work of ducking into a small cave, big enough for three wolves maybe if they were cozy with each other. As soon as he had entered it was easy to forget that a storm was brewing outside, inside was as warm as a late fall day, dry, and the stone dampened the sound of the wind through the vegetation. This was perfect.
