The sun was glowing palely on the azure sky, it's rays bringing little heat with them down to earth, but reflecting sharply on the light-green water, highlighting every small ripple created by the icy wind as it blew over the small pool. Standing at the water's edge, paws clawing at the frozen edges of the small lake, was a snow white figure, lapping lazily at the chilly water, bright-yellow eyes closed against the blinding sunlight. His tall, thin frame was completely still, even the low-hanging tail unmoving as he drank, but his thoughts were speeding.

In truth they were always speeding, close to always anyways. Right now they were deciphering the animal tracks he had noticed around the watering spot, determining the best route to take onwards; it was a simple task, but at least it was one. Truly it had been way too long since his brain had had any proper stimulus - all this lone wandering was so boring! He needed some canine interaction, some decent company if it was possible, though he doubted it... But really at this point anything was better than being alone.

Lifting his refined dome from the water, the wolf glanced up at the sky, trailing a flock of birds that were just passing in V-formation; geese, a bit late in their migration, probably because of the bad weather earlier in the fall, nothing interesting. He sighed and shook his fur, feeling the cold on his skin as the wind swept through the hairs; Winter... Such a boring season.

Nina Hervok

Ever since Koda had disappeared things had been constant back in Secret Woodlands. Nina would run from one place to another with no rest in between stops and finally she had come to the point of utter exhaustion. She still had two children to raise, along with Bane, who she considered her own. Never had she stopped for herself…and now finally she was doing exactly that. Her former home, Secluded Springs, had always been her safe haven when she needed it. It reminded her much of her times when Ruiko and Aeylen use to be around and ran things. They had felt all the pressure that she was feeling now and sometimes Nina would wander…are they still out there doing this again? The stress that came with leading a pack was something that the young woman would have never thought about when she had first formed Secret Woodlands, and even though it got hard from time to time, it was always really hard to stop. She would never want to give up her family for anyone or anything.

She was glad she was coming to her own place for once though, a place that no one from her family knew she still visited, save Azariah due to their short encounter a few months ago when the young female had been down in the dumps. Nina had showed the woman her old home and in turn the pair had been able to bond. Now all Nina did was look for the creek she had once sat down by everyday to go through her thoughts and sort them out. When she had encountered something bad or needed to clear her head, this had been her grace-land. Hopefully it was just as peaceful as it had been before Aeylen and Ruiko had left. Of course, she hadn’t been planning on having company when she arrived there. Her brows furrowed when she noticed the unfamiliar form near the creek. Whoever it was seemed to be quite thin and with the winter approaching at a faster pace than usual it was definitely not healthy to be thin at such a time like this. It was why she made her presence known to him, "Hello there…I’m Nina Reinier." If he had gone by the Thickets before coming to this place, then perhaps he would recognize her scent, but if not, then it shouldn’t have been a mystery that she was in a pack because she was well nourished and healthy…unlike him.

It seems when you're around, my life is complete.
