OOC: Sorry I'm a little late - I was a bit unwell yesterday. I'm really enjoying this RP with you :)
Outre watched him smile a little after her awkward introduction and gave him a small smile of her own. A smile was good. She mustn't have done much out of the ordinary.
"How did you get your name."
"I gave it to myself" she smiled, realizing he was the first one ever to ask "It means... unusual" her eyes flickered to the left suddenly as her inner monologue started to turn over loudly in her mind. She still wasn't sure if she was ready to own her physical and mental differences confidently to another wolf, although she wanted to give the guise she was stronger than her insecurities. That was the reasoning behind the name, really, but she wasn't sure it was completely foolproof.
"For reasons you might have noticed... already" she added awkwardly, bringing her amber gaze back. He mentioned to her that he didn't think that these lands deserved to be called a blemish but the quiet and stillness here was unnerving. She nodded "It takes a while to get used to... this place has a way of consuming sounds" she looked around "the birds are afraid to sing because they can so easily be found. Nothing moves here. Staying still means staying soundless" she grinned a little. "It's misunderstood, really"
He spoke of his plans to head south when morning broke to look for somewhere to call home, specifically. She took his offering of information as another sign of trust. He would be an asset to a pack, its only natural he would be seeking the companionship of others and a solid social structure only a pack could provide. Thats what the agenda was for most lones. Not to be alone anymore.
"That sounds like a good plan" Outre reaffirmed, turning her muzzle to look in the direction of the south as she spoke. She had thoughts of wanting to be a part of something bigger, to have the safety of others so she wasn't always exhausting herself looking after her own skin - but she felt she had absolutely nothing to offer a pack. She would be a dead weight - and perhaps they would become so frustrated with her she would become the omega, and she would be right back where she was with her own family, ready to be driven out when times got tough. She had enough scars.
"Perhaps I could walk you to the borders when the sun breaks" she offered, trying to reciprocate one kind act for another "Not that I doubt your capability, but even those who live here still get tangled in debris on the forest floor. I could make your journey faster, and as an added benefit, safer" she lifted her paw. "It's the least I can do for your help"
