It seemed that the loners he did meet were alone for awhile. She seemed almost sad about it though. Was she looking for a pack to join? But it was her choice if she wished to stay that way alone. He meant to circle back down towards the south in search of a pack.

Her stiff movement to copy him made his smile grow. He wasn't used to others taking cues from him the other way around in fact. "How did you get your name." He asked rather curiously. Had she given herself the name like he had his or had she been given the name by her parents?

Jester gazed at the surrounding trees and the ghastly light that made the fog seem to glow. "I don't think of it as a blemish." He began slowly "I just don't care for the stillness that covers this place." He really didn't any sounds that echoed here sounded strange and distorted. Some of them made the hair stand up and the back of his neck because of their eeriness. He turned his attention back to her at her next question. "Yep. Looking around for a place to call home and am going to be going south again in the morning. There's a forest down there that I like and am curious to see if anyone has claimed it for their own." He told her truthfully telling her were he would be in case she ever had the desire to find him again.

OOC: Sorry I'm a little late - I was a bit unwell yesterday. I'm really enjoying this RP with you :)

Outre watched him smile a little after her awkward introduction and gave him a small smile of her own. A smile was good. She mustn't have done much out of the ordinary.

"How did you get your name."

"I gave it to myself" she smiled, realizing he was the first one ever to ask "It means... unusual" her eyes flickered to the left suddenly as her inner monologue started to turn over loudly in her mind. She still wasn't sure if she was ready to own her physical and mental differences confidently to another wolf, although she wanted to give the guise she was stronger than her insecurities. That was the reasoning behind the name, really, but she wasn't sure it was completely foolproof.

"For reasons you might have noticed... already" she added awkwardly, bringing her amber gaze back. He mentioned to her that he didn't think that these lands deserved to be called a blemish but the quiet and stillness here was unnerving. She nodded "It takes a while to get used to... this place has a way of consuming sounds" she looked around "the birds are afraid to sing because they can so easily be found. Nothing moves here. Staying still means staying soundless" she grinned a little. "It's misunderstood, really"

He spoke of his plans to head south when morning broke to look for somewhere to call home, specifically. She took his offering of information as another sign of trust. He would be an asset to a pack, its only natural he would be seeking the companionship of others and a solid social structure only a pack could provide. Thats what the agenda was for most lones. Not to be alone anymore.

"That sounds like a good plan" Outre reaffirmed, turning her muzzle to look in the direction of the south as she spoke. She had thoughts of wanting to be a part of something bigger, to have the safety of others so she wasn't always exhausting herself looking after her own skin - but she felt she had absolutely nothing to offer a pack. She would be a dead weight - and perhaps they would become so frustrated with her she would become the omega, and she would be right back where she was with her own family, ready to be driven out when times got tough. She had enough scars.

"Perhaps I could walk you to the borders when the sun breaks" she offered, trying to reciprocate one kind act for another "Not that I doubt your capability, but even those who live here still get tangled in debris on the forest floor. I could make your journey faster, and as an added benefit, safer" she lifted her paw. "It's the least I can do for your help"

OOC: It's not even really that late so don't sweat it. Thanks and I with you as well. ^^

"It seems that many names are unusual. Just in different ways and for different purposes. Mine for example is because I can get others to smile and laugh. To make them forget their worries for a little while." He said with a grin.

He looked up into the trees as she spoke of the birds being afraid to sing. "That is understandable though in a forest were they sing it is easier to hear if another predator is coming when they stop their tunes." He said watching as one of the birds flitted among them before flying out of sight. He looked back down to her smaller form. "I suppose if I had been raised here I would be accustomed to the stillness or if I staid here for a long period of time." His voice was truthful and honest. He did think that about any place but if you are born into a place with silence you would not like all the sounds of a 'normal' forest.

He gave her a smile "The simplest plans are the ones that are most easily executed and less likely to fail." Complex plans did have a way of falling apart if even one aspect was out of place. A simple plan could be revised around any complications making it versatile.

Jester was surprised at her offer. He was so used to giving others his help that he was rarely helped in return. "Of course I will accept any help you wish to give Outre." He told her bowing his head once more in gratitude.

"Of course I will accept any help you wish to give Outre."

She couldn't help but beam, her eyes shining a little at his words. It wasn't often that she felt she could be a help to others, but her time here navigating the ghostly woods would have surely come in handy. It was most definitely not the easiest places to tread a paw, even a careful one.

"I'll meet you when the sun breaks" she said gently, lifting her muzzle towards the sky, a small smile forming. "My den isn't far from here. I'll come for you"

She turned her tail and moved into the darkness, deciding not to be clever jumping over any debris and rather wading the fog like she was pushing herself through water. "Sleep well" she called over her shoulder, melting into the shadows "Thankyou again for your help"

(ooc: I'll fast forward it to the morning just to speed things up, if you prefer me not too, just PM and I'll edit the post)

Outre had slept soundly that night. Knowing that Jester was not far away had given her a sense of safety. Of course, the wolf was still a stranger, but they had built a small foundation of trust in that small time. This is what it felt like to have allies. Safe.

She had taught herself to wake with the sun, as the birds were so silent here they acted as a poor indication that light had broken. The morning was cool, the ever present fog sliding over the ground like a ghost. Outre climbed to her four slowly, letting out a little stretch and a small yawn before heading back to Jesters camp.

"Good morning" she said softly, unsure if he was awake or merely resting. It was easy to sleep amongst the quiet and stillness here. She lowered herself to her haunches and waited for him to rise - closing her eyes to scour for any unusual sounds in the area before they made their journey. Best to avoid any unwanted encounters. Wolf or other.

Smiling he nodded "I will rest here for the night then so you don't need to look for me." He said lifting a paw motioning to the tree and stump. He watched as she walked away throwing a goodnight over her shoulder as the shadows swallowed her. He called after his echoing oddly ,to his ears, in the silence.

Sighing he looked at the duck shaped stump. Just you and I until morning then he thought to himself. Stretching his front legs out before him and then sliding forward in a fluid motion he stretched his back legs before nosing into the little nook that he had been resting in before.

Lowering himself he curled into a ball tail over his nose and eyes shut. The only indicator that he was there was the rise and fall of his sides and the slight twitching of his ears.

***Morning***

Sunrise seemed to come in a blink of an eye. Waking to Outre soft words he half-opened his orange eyes but didn't move giving his brain time to wake before he official rose. Slowly he lifted his head and let out a large yawn with his tongue curling in between his white canines. Rising he shook himself light and let out another smaller yawn before giving Outre his full attention.

"Good morning to you." He began voice still sounding a little sleepy. "Did you sleep well?" Last night he could have slept better but after Outre and his introduction he had mostly dozed in and out. Not wanting something else to startle him as well.
