He had been arguably happier since @Jynx joined despite them not spending an abundance of time together. He felt a bit more secure and safe now that he had a friend whom he did not consider family within the pack. He couldn't not admit that he had some feelings for her but he had buried them, not ready to let them slip out in case things turned ugly like they had Aponi. He refused to remind himself of the heathen that had broken his life to pieces. He had taken the time to carefully put the pieces of his life back together and nothing could destroy it. Had he gone through rough patches? Yes he had. He had gone through several of them but he hoped to avoid those from that point forward.
The swarthy boy was rounding out the last section of the borders before his border run would come to an end. He decided that he would see what Jynx was up to and if she would mind his company. He hoped she didn't mind but he never knew what girls were thinking. Well... that wasn't entirely true. He knew what his sister thought about most of the time... at least he thought he knew. In all actuality, he had no idea what anyone else thought of as it should be but his oblivious nature to the fact continued to play on. He searched around, following her scent trails to track her down so they could just talk. He really enjoyed talking. He could tell so many stories that he could talk a wolf's ears off all day. Tace. He remembered the word that his former mentor had taught him from the ancient language. It meant silent and it had first been used in Karpos' presence during a hunt. Those were the days, truthfully. He missed them.
He missed them but he didn't. His eyes blocked out the sadness as he pushed it to the back of his mind. He had more important things to focus on than what could have been. For all he cared, Mapplethorpe could go die. Karpos looked around some more for Jynx before her scent was intercepted by a rabbit trail. He followed it, figuring that he could bring her a rabbit in case it was a bad time. He was pretty sure that was proper manners... right? He was very confused when it came to some social conventions or the whatevers.
