"I'm just sayin', you don't have to be lonely for companionship necessarily, and if I'm interpreting you correctly, that's not what you're recruiting for anyway," he explained with an aloof shrug, but left it at that. The conversation was over, and the both of them knew so. They were both not what the other was looking for.. or not entirely anyway. While Merys could have been tempted if he had presented his argument another way, or if Z could have been more interested in Merys' qualities would have to remain to be seen. Today was not that day, and perhaps the day would never come. And that was fine; he had a presentiment that this wolf had a sweet tongue that could lead him into trouble if he wasn't careful -- trouble that perhaps a less optimistic day would have been a welcome invitation. He shrugged again, "No alternative. Just self-admittance that a spade is a spade. A 'band of bachelors' sounds too.. adorable," he said with a smile. Wolves like him existed, and there would likely come a day when Merys was thankful they did so he could relieve himself in ways that a pack would frown upon. When being a monotonous robot would no longer be enough; and following mundane orders would need to come to an end. But he wasn't there yet. The lucky thing was.. Z was the kind of wolf that would always be around -- even when you didn't want them to be.
