Cali didn't have long to wait before the girl on the other side of the small river reacted to her presence. With a condescending look and making her own exit. The soft-hearted fae was taken aback by the disdain on the other woman's face, but she simply didn't have time for hurt feelings. Another young fae, far more worthy of her concern waited below ground and a concerned look quickly replaced the one of surprise and confusion.

She turned back the the large male with a shrug and gave him a brief nod before she started on her way once more, stepping forward to immerse herself in cold water, yet again. She moved to the center of the slowly moving river. The current wasn't strong, but she was a bit tired, not having given herself time to rest and she lost her footing and went under. She quickly caught herself and made it to the other shore with no more trouble. She was breathing hard though and knew that she'd have to catch her breath before going on.

She heard the russet male's question and turned her head back in his direction. There was only concern on his face and in his voice. Knowing that she had to rest before leaving, the panicked part of her felt the need to share her worry and the over-sized male had asked, so she let it out in an emotional rush. "My friend is trapped. She fell through the ice somehow and is trapped below ground in the meadow forest.' Looking back down at the ground in front of her she said, "Poor Narime'," more to herself than him.

His was an honest concern. Whether it was a weakness or a strength was debated by many, but Sloane had a compulsion to help others. It was a huge part of what made him the wolf that he was. She wasn't sick or starving or even really frightened, but there was definitely something bothering the white wolf. He waited to see if she would respond to his question. Just when he decided that she might keep her silence, she finally spoke.

She told of a trapped friend and instantly he wondered if there were something that he could do to help. As he was preparing to ask her just that two more words, hardly audible, came from her mouth. "Poor Narime'." His heart jumped into his throat and his bright amber eyes went wide. Narime'? His Narime' trapped? Nononono... No! With that word repeating in his head, he was across the river and in a mad dash for the area that she had indicated. All of his manners had vanished in his fear for his mate's life. Nothing mattered but getting to Narime'. Now.

The words had hardly left her mouth when the male came crashing across the river towards her. She felt a brief moment of panic before she realized that she was not his target. Something about what she'd said had set him off and now he was the one blanketed in sheer panic. Without a word, he was off, leaving her staring blankly after his retreating form. He must know Narime' somehow, for it had been her name that had galvanized him into action. He was obviously a friend as well. Perhaps a very close one.

Cali remained alone on the deserted banks of the small river until the trembling in her long legs stilled and her breathing was once more even and steady. Worried as she was for Narime' she had to take care of herself as well for the sake of her pack. Being laid up because of exhaustion or injury was simply not acceptable. Now that she felt more herself, she headed off after the huge male at a slightly slower pace than him. She could only pray that sweet young Narime' was all right and would soon be freed from her earthly prison.
